Both old covenant and new covenant believers make up the new Jerusalem, the bride of the Lamb.  Rev 21

No, We shall have Resurrected Bodies like/similar to Christs Resurrected Body.  So then is Christ the "New Jerusalem"

Missing the point.  The New Jerusalem is only finished being completed after the old earth and old heaven has been done away with, when the new earth and new heaven have been completed.

The Jerusalem from above represents Sarah the free woman who had the son of promise, and she is a type of our mother (promise).  Not Hagar the slave women.

Revelation 21:1   And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Revelation 21:2   And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:3   And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 21:4   And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Revelation 21:5   And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
 

Can you see that the New Jerusalem coming down is about the New heaven, and the New earth?  There will be no more death.  All the former things are gone and everything is new.

The kingdom of God goes through stages.  It's the final stage...the finale... that the above is speaking of and also the same that Jesus spoke of;

Luke 11:12  .....Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Jesus saw the end.  The very end.

After everything is cleaned up, ...the devil and his children gone, and even when death itself is thrown into the lake of fire, God will make the whole earth as it is in heaven.  This is the New Jerusalem - the finale.  All who are written in the Lamb's book of life will be a part of this City that is prepared for us.  All together now en masse  - for those who took part in the first and second resurrections. 

Everything on this earth will be made spiritual, just like it is in heaven.  This New Jerusalem is waiting for the church to arrive.  When Christ presents all the saints washed clean, and wearing the 'righteousness of the City', heaven will come down to the earth, and take over the earth.  The earth will be the new heaven.  No more division, heaven and earth all rolled into one.  Remodeled.

So no, New Jerusalem is not the church, but waiting on all those to take part in the 1st & 2nd resurrections before they can enter.  That stage must be finished so they can be presented together as ONE to the Father.  The City is the bride, and 'the righteousness' that 'the saints are wearing' is the adornments, beautifying that city even more.  The beautiful fruits of that City is what they are wearing.

Because metaphorically speaking, Jerusalem is God's woman.  Her name is ZION. 

The kingdom we are called to dwell in, is the kingdom that rules from ABOVE.  

Jerusalem above is higher than our ways.  God's woman is always with him (HIS CITY/HIS KINGDOM)

God's woman (HIS CITY/HIS KINGDOM) produces children.  The city is our teacher because all the laws, and righteousness, and wisdom and salvation come out of her.  God's city is nurturing us, and raising us, and teaching us how to become children of God so we can claim our inheritance.  God's city is doing the job of a mother - teaching the children.  This is why God likens his City/Kingdom to his wife, because they agree with each other.  ie, the city is loyal to it's king, like a woman is loyal to her husband.

At the appointed time, the woman will give birth to her children at the 1st and 2nd resurrection.

They will be born 'again'.  The first time they were born flesh when they came out of their mother's womb, but the second time they will be born spirit out of the woman (born out of her teachings) at the resurrection.

 John 3:6   That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

 

Isaiah 66:8   Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

(1st resurrection)

Isaiah 66:9   Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

(the womb will not be shut, for there shall be 2nd resurrection)

 

 Isaiah 66:13   As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
