Now that things have been cleared up, I imagine that "psychophetic" is related to psychosphere, a psychological term referring to the environs of the mind. That's my stab at the mystery.

I thought it was a wrong spelling of psychopathic although the context seemed wrong, but it could be a mash-up of some word prefixed by psych- and prophet.
