Hello,

how do you feel about the decrease in Christianity and the increase in atheism in the US? Do you think society will become worse, better or stay around the same?

Well,  I just erased my long post that explains the great care one should take with stats/data without knowing anything of how they were collected - i.e. sample size, questions asked, etc.  I always like to look at those things when I'm reading the results of "research".  I always study the study before taking the results at face value.  Having had several doctoral level courses in stats and data collection/reporting and actually having been trained in one course on HOW to skew the results to make them say what you want them to say - I don't always trust research reports to give the whole truth or the whole picture.

I also erased my statement about what constitutes a Christian and how Biblical and legitimate Christians do not stop becoming Christians, but I could tell I was getting off track and many would disagree with me and take your thread on a rabbit hunt.

So I will just say this.

God wins.  He will always have a remnant - a people - regardless of size.  God's people may be outnumbered and even suffer, but they don't stop being his people.

Yes, things are getting worse and will continue to get worse until the end when Jesus says in Matthew 24:21 that there will be horrible times - a great Tribulation -  like has NEVER been seen and never will be.  It's bad now, but as I tell the doom and gloom crowd - just hang on - it's about to get a lot worse.  Be thankful for what we have today.

That is not the fault of an atheist.  It the fault of the devil.

And it's the fault of humanity at large who swallows more and more lies every year about sin and evil - that includes all people of all religious beliefs.   There are even Christians who don't believe in truth anymore and accept all kinds of things that God does not accept.  We are a sick  people indeed.

I think you have drawn conclusions that cannot be perfectly drawn by a mere collection of numbers.  Atheists are not the reason for the decline of the human race.  The human race is.

While I don't hold a lot of faith in any kind of study since they can be skewed, I would tend to agree the whole world is going down the loo in terms of godlessness, not only the US. It's sad to see the spiral in the US because we were once a bastion of Christianity, yet there were always those bad elements in the country from the very beginning. There are still many many Christians in the US. The voices you hear the most come over channels bought and payed for by those on the other side who have no quibbles with a dishonest representation of the facts. All of the major news outlets and newspapers are bought and payed for mostly by them.

While I think there are far many Christians around than we tend to think there might be, I have seen a steady shift towards all things anti and counter Christian. This is why, in all good faith and honesty I can't call America a Christian nation. I don't think many of this present generation even know fully what a real Christian is.

While we can do one of two things, repent and regain the Lord's blessing or continue to rebel, turn away from God and go right down the loo, civilizations mostly tend to DECLINE over time if left to themselves. The nation that men fought so valiantly and gave their lives for not 100 years ago has begun to look worse than the nations we were fighting to save ourselves from.

If we don't get a foothold soon. I mean really soon, it's going to get worse and worse for the US. I live here and I don't want to see that happen but I fear it will when we have people who are convinced that socialism is the answer. That government control of every aspect of our lives is the answer. That we don't need what some of them want to think is a pretend God. That open occult worship is ok. Even people who say they are Christians either aren't living like it or put on a fake facade. We are attempting to redefine Christianity so it can be made a one-size-fits all. One of our very few redeeming qualities is we still ( as of now) support Israel. Trump is too cocky and Biden is oblivious. We are in BIG trouble. Half of our government ( at least) are committed to a socialist no god concept that isn't anything like christianity. This next election could be the tipping point that finally pushes us into the abyss. Into a downward spiral. There's not a lot of the apple left for the worms. We are all along for the ride.

God was prepared to spare Sodom and Gomorrah for  even a handful of godly people. We still have a handful. Will God spare us? To me it looks like unless we wake up really fast Judgement is on the way.

This world has always been unbelieving, lawless, and unrepentant. I am neither dismayed nor surprised because Satan is the ruler of this world, and those who cling to the world serve the master of it thereby. What difference is there between the atheist and those who serve the Lord with their lips? Or those who clamor for war against their neighbor and a murderer? Whomever hates his brother is guilty of murder (1 John 3:15). As it pertains to those who serve the Lord with their lips it is written,

There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

(Proverbs 30:11-14)

You'll find these at the forefront, goading their countrymen to send their sons and daughters to shed their blood for the sake of the vanity of men. When they stand before the Son of God and His angels on that day, their works shall be manifest in His righteous judgment: depart from Me, you who work iniquity.

Society was getting terribly worse here in the USA, but I believe the election of Donald Trump has turned things for the better. Hopefully he'll get reelected.

Good question. Do you feel it differs to anything substantial elsewhere around the world? Speaking of that, how is the level of faith in Christ Jesus in YOUR little corner of the planet? Allow me step more forward into your circle with another question. WHO is Jesus to you?

Matt Slick wrote this back in 2006!

Why is atheism and non-belief on the rise?

by Matt Slick
5/23/2006

Those who identify with no religious affiliation as well as strong atheism (open denial of God), have increased in number in America over the past few years. Also, it appears that more people are also leaving the Christian faith than ever before. Why is this? I have not taken a survey to find out why, so all I can do is offer some observations based on my dealings with atheists, and those who love Christianity, that I have had over the past few years. Following is what I've gleaned as reasons for the increase of "no religious affiliation" and people leaving the Christian faith.

  1. Lack of proper action/teaching by Christians
  2. Christianity as an institution has failed in our culture
  3. Rise of secularism
    1. Hostility to Christianity in higher education
    2. Decrease in critical thinking
    3. The rise of science
  4. Increase in spiritual oppression

Internet INFORMATION is not always indicative of evidential FACTS. There's literally thousands of differing viewpoints depending on the publisher  and who implements it. Just because it's available isn't always equivalent of TRUTH. We need to consider what we glean when it comes to these resources. You may or may not have heard the term, "buyer beware". When it comes to the internet it is, "user be wary".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
