It does not change the meaning of the verse, that God has revealed his divine nature through his creation and can be known and understood though the things he created.  Primarily man whom he made in HIS very own image and likeness.  God is not some alien concept that can not be understood by humans.  We are the very image and likeness of God. God is not hiding his divine nature as you stated that its too complicated for us to know or understand.  If you believe God is three persons/Gods yet one God then you have invented a concept that can not be understood or explained.  This is why you and others default to God is too complicated to understand when asked to explain. Yes, Godhead simply means divine nature as I stated and it does not mean Trinity as I heard you and others teach.  As if God is some kind of union of three separate gods forming a single God.

One question. Do you believe in the Trinity, that God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? If not, I've nothing further to say to you. Sorry.

John 1:1–2 (AV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

1 John 1:1–2 (AV)
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

Genesis 1:1–2 (AV)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Same time frame, God the Word with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

There are three individuals who are the one God.

John 1:3 (AV)

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Colossians 1:16 (AV)

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Isaiah 44:24 (AV)
24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

We've already established that the Father (1 John 1:1-2) and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1-2) were present with him (God the Word) but he acted alone in creation.

Genesis 1:1 says "GOD" crated the heavens and the earth.

Jesus is as much God as the Father or the Holy Spirit plus Jesus has a human body as well.

I recently spent quite a bit of time at a board where there were a whole lot of posters - Christians - who did not believe in the Trinity - and/or did not believe that Jesus was God.

It seemed to me a Haven for Heretics - yet they were sincere, many well-versed in Greek, otherwise-intelligent posters who said Jesus was Son of God but not actually God.

I just wanted to get a feel for how important these issues are here.

In almost all cases, I have found that those who don't believe in Trinity also do not believe Jesus was God, not in all cases, but almost.

Just wondered what folks on this board thought.

I would not waste my time going to a site where people did not believe in the Holy Trinity which is one of the essentials of our faith.  Knowing that there is God the Father, and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is very important.

Correct, I dont believe in the Trinity at least in the way it is being taught. I don't believe God is three "persons" that form a single God.  I do believe the Father, Holy Spirit and Y'shua are one and the same person/God, not three separate persons, beings or gods.   Scriptures declare there is only one God and there are no other God or savior besides him.

  • "I, even I, am the LORD [Yahwah], And there is no savior besides Me. [Isa 43:11 NASB]
  • Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD: [Deu 6:4 KJV]
  • And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: [Mar 12:29 KJV]

Gen 1 says God created all things.  Then we read in John 1 that Y'shua/Jesus created all things.  This is either a direct contradiction or are they are the same person.

  • In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [Gen 1:1 NASB]
  • He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him [Y'shua]. [Jhn 1:10 NASB]

The mystery of the Gospel is that God came in the flesh [Y'shua] to save us from our sins.  The God in heaven whom made all things is the same God that came in the flesh.  If you dont believe this then you really dont know who Jesus is.

I think Athanasius fought like crazy over it in the 300's AD. He got sent into exile 5 times but kept coming back. Now days it is not just Jehovah's Witnesses bringing a comeback to Arianism. Non-Trinnies and NOT-GODDERS all over the net saying "aint no Tinity" and saying "Jesus is Not God - just ' a good man' " or whatever...

Jesus is God, and all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Him.

The Godhead is the biblical term for the Trinity.

What scriptures you are referring to support these statements in the last two paragraphs:

In case someone asks we have an answer...

And if someone wants to know.

I believe in the Heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Father in the New Testament, (but not in the old Testament) and in Jesus Christ the Son of God, our Everlasting Father, who was ascended from the heart of the earth and not alone to the highest in Heaven and is sitted on the the Throne of Heaven (reserved for the Christ of God) to the right of the Heavenly Father, being made Lord of All, and King of Kings rules forever more, without end, and the Holy Spirit in the New Testament who was given for the first time on the day of Penticost, and is on earth and amongst other things is testifying to everyone who hears the Gospel that it is truth about Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ preaching the Gospel to the dead who had died before him and his disciples through out the generations commition to preach the Gospel with the help of the Holy Spirit to the living in all the Nations of the world forever more.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ gave them PASTORS,EVANGELISTS, TEACHERS, GIFTS OF HEALINGS....

But not Priests...

And why? The priests were needed to offered the sacrifices and the sacrifices have siege...

In the Mosaic Law the Rabbis were the ones to teach the people about God , the people were going to the Synagogue.

Just like the churches...

Basileion Ierateuma cannot be for the people under the Sinai Covenant...

We need to be the seed of the King Jesus Christ who made us a Nation of Priests, the seed of the King Jesus the Christ is made unto a nation of Priest...

The sign of the coming end of the Aaronic Priesthood was Zacharias.

And the bishopstick was taken from Aaron and his family and given to someone else and his family..

Abraham was not the EVERLASTING Father....

The inheritor of Heaven and Earth is the EVERLASTING Father our Lord Jesus Christ...

Who liberated Abraham and his seed from their captivity...and none with him was lost...when he went to meet Abraham and everyone who was with him immediately after his death on the Cross...that time Jesus gave them forgiveness of sins in his name and they all ate from the bread of life...the first ones to be the body of Jesus Christ...

The way Abraham liberated Lot from his captivity...and they all ate the bread of life and they drink the wine of the priest of God , not only them Abraham and Lot but everyone else who was with them.

The same way Jesus Christ after Abraham he went to offer the bread of life and forgiveness of sins to the rest of the world including the lost sheep of Israel....in the parable of Jesus and the parable of the rich man crying for help...

Jesus Christ died for all..

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
