We claim in song and testimony "It is the day of the dear Savior's birth"

  1. It cannot be proven it is the day Jesus was born
  2. It is not said that it is simply be the day that we celebrate Jesus' birth
  3. It is not disclosed to anyone that Christ Mass was a Roman Catholic invention to Christianize or replace the pagan winter solstice feast Saturnalia

Then come the lies about Saint Nick / Santa Claus which is an extremely blown out of proportion lie about an historic character:

Saint Nicholas was born circa 280 in Patara, Lycia, an area that is part of present-day Turkey. He lost both of his parents as a young man and reportedly used his inheritance to help the poor and sick. A devout Christian, he later served as bishop of Myra, a city that is now called Demre.

What is the purpose of the thread or what are you wanting to accomplish?

Or perhaps to put it another way--what is the motivation for starting this thread?

I am guessing here and not answering for the OP, But, I think one should rather ask what it could become. It is mostly meant for fun, but I think, if handled properly, it can be a great place for find memories and the sharing of good news stories that we all need right now.

We do make jokes, but that is just what they are. Humour. And no names were mentioned so it is not aimed at being nasty.

I don't know the motivation either. I wanted the OP to ask himself that question. I am however absolutely certain what this thread will produce.

John 1:14 (AV)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Hebrew for dwelt among us is "tabernacled" among us. This may very well suggest that Jesus was born during the Feast of Tabernacles (in keeping with his prophetic fulfillments of the feasts of Judaism).

It would be earlier in the year and much more in align with the description of Luke chapter 2 as to the season in which the shepherds would be out in the fields watching over their flocks by night. December would be too cold and rainy.

I do not particularly worry much about what people are going to argue here, not because I want to belittle them but because i do not share their views and the arguments they use do not convince me. I do not see the point in going over them year after year. So I am going to say just once that, with all due respect, I will not be engaging in debate about this. my purpose will be to be positive, enjoy the fellowship and to bring upliftment to those who need it. I understand that some do not like this celebration, but that is their choice. I repeat. I will not have my memories of amazing times with my family be tarnished with suspicions that we were somehow doing something wrong. My dad is an experienced reformed theologian and he has been celebrating Christmas all his life. I trust him.

and that is enough of that. back to the fun.

I answered him and an accomplice of his in other threads and you will note he has weaponized his alleged reactions of prayer for me which this statement affirms:

I respect your feelings.

But I have to say that equating the Truth (Jesus Christ) with untruth like the tradition of Christ Mass... nothing good can come of it.

If it were even celebrated as the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus (regardless of what day of the year it actually occurred) then a removal of all lies like Santa Clause and the pagan symbols like Yule Logs, mistletoe, even decorated trees (whether or not we realize or acknowledge  or believe it) is as  a pagan alter in our homes Churches businesses.

Manger scene only.

No booze parties at work or elsewhere no exchange of gifts. Just celebrate Jesus birth.

Well I have a very empty and sad life filled with all kinds of unbearable pain and nightmares from my earliest memories and started praying to God every night from the age of 9 to kill me.

I appreciate any prayers I can get.

I still would be happy to go as soon as possible, but after a failed suicide attempt about which I have posted about at this site, I do my best to endure one day at a time and focus on the kingdom of God.

I was almost dead when the rope broke.  I know God broke it. There is no other explanation.

I am sorry to hear all of this.

I am praying for you, Coop.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
