I don't support the terrorists, but if I were a religious zealot, and I looked over at North America and saw the way society prostitutes itself, I would have to assertain that yes, (North) America is at least under the influence of the great satan.

I don't admire the way muslims do things but I do admire their zeal.  :)

Gerioke as weird as it sounds, I have to agree! I wish we were as zealous, but with "LOVE" we have so many that are, or seem to be anyway, but don't seem to be trying to spread that zeal with anything but hate and a better than thou attitude.

To say that they are envious of the states just shows the arrogance that the rest of the world sees in America. :)  :)  :)

I'm not happy with the evil in our society either - but dealing with it through mass-scale murder and praising Allah for victory?

:)

Neb, I was in no way saying I believe in killing or anything. I was just saying we need to be more zealous but do it with the love that Jesus showed to us!

I found this written on another board:

They hate us because:

1) Those resources we use, abuse, and waste, are stolen from the people who used to own them. Our big corporations essentially purchased the aid of governments throughout the world, allowing us to impoverish other nations while we in America get the benefit.

2) The culture of commercialism that is dominant in America, in a very real sense, destroys our souls, and when we spread it, it destroys other people's souls as well.

3) The American people are completely unwilling to do anything about this, even in cases when they know that it's true.

Read any of the accounts that the early Western explorers give of the people they encountered in the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, Southeast Asia, etc. You will not find a single account of a group of people living in a cardboard shack with open sewage in the streets, eating stewed rats, and working 15 hours a day at the docks or the mines or the sweatshops for 10 cents a day. You won't find account of thousands and thousand of children starving every day, or dying of dysentary, or of people so devoid of any hope that all their joy in life is gone. This is what the west has brought to much of the rest of the world, all so that the top 5% of the world population could afford to have a coke and a smile. Western development benefits only a few people, while the rest suffer unimaginably.

That, sir, is why they hate America.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

None of that justifies terrorism. Besides if they don't like our commercialism, then they can leave our country and stop sending immigrants over here. They know where the door is. They can leave anytime they get tired of being corrupted by us.

They have Islam to thank for that. It is not the West that put them in this condition. Look at the countries where Islam is the chief religion. They are the poorest as far as the common people are concerned. Any aid that is given by the US, is used to line the pockets of the dictators. Arab governments are brutal to their own people.

Saudi Arabia is probably one of the richest if not the richest countries in the world. But you would not know that by how the rest of Islam lives. When the Tsunami hit, Saudi Arabia, which is swimming in Billions upon billions in oil revenue was giving the least to the victims. They gave less than the US but criticized the the US about being stingy. Yasir Arafat sat on 1.3 billion dollars. That was money that was given to him as aid to give relief to his people. Instead he kept it his own private bank accounts while letting his people starve.

Frankly, I think the US ought to stop giving aid to everyone. I think we ought to just let some of these countries who hate us but always have their hand out, try to exist without us. I am so tired of these whiners complaining about us, but still standing there at the trough with their hands out wanting our money. Just cut them off.

But ted, thats the fun of living in the country you can spit on it, defame it, lie about it and still make a buck!

Boy, you said a mouthful, sister. Amen.

Try being a Saudi citizen and doing the same there. You'd quickly end up imprisoned or worse.

America. She isn't perfect, far from it, but I'm very proud of her and am glad to be a citizen.

Like I said in the beggining of this post...PURE ENVY!. An age old human condition expressing itself through a crazed religion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
