Oh Puppy, I have had some interaction with those from shepherds chapel. Beyond that website link, I know he teaches things that are not scriptural.

So, do I believe in the rapture, yes I do. And when He toots, I'm going to scoot!!

Pipit

I have never heard that - That is Hilarious!!!!

I believe as the Bible says:

1 Thessalonians 4

15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Hi Jan S: I, too, believe in a "rapture" or a "snatching." My question to you is when is it OR was it? To whom is 1 Thessalonians addressed? Is Paul not speaking to the Thessalonians when he says in verse 15: "for this we say unto YOU by the word of the Lord, that WE (I, Paul and my contemporaries) which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep." Also: "Then WE which are alive and remain . . . so shall WE ever be with the Lord." There is comfort in Paul's words to the Thessalonians who were enduring hardships and persecutions and had lost loved ones in Christ only if the words had direct relevance to them.

This is to everyone that has replied to the topic of "What do You Believe."

We are all different people, we have different beliefs and I believe that no matter how much we disagree or agree with each other, no amount of comments are gonna do anybody any good.

So, as of this very moment, I hereby, am not interested in this or any other related topic.

If you are implying that Paul was only speaking to those in his presence at that time, then you would have to follow that line of thinking all through the New Testament and none of it would be relevant to us today. :(

If that were true then Paul and those he was talking to would have been caught up because he said "we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds".

But, it is not true that he was only speaking of them. The fact is , the Bible is our guide in every situation today and is to be applied to every part of our lives.

WHEN shall we "----be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air---" ??? :hmmm:

Matthew 24:36

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Since no one knows, then be ready to meet Him now and it will not matter when it happens!!

:hmmm:

Shouldn't we all be ready to be judged by God rather than assuming we will just meet Him and spend our eternity with Him?

Exactly!

We cannot "assume" anything. That is why we search our heart, to know how He would judge us. And if our heart condmens us , then get RIGHT! And then you will be ready to meet Him

Follow in the way the best you can! That is what we can all try to do, and that goes for all of us!

there are 2 judments, and a Christian has no fear of eternal separation from either.

if one isnt convinced of that, well Jesus Christ died in your place and arose so you could have eternal life.

if that isnt enough, no amount of works you ever perform is EVER going to get you the crown of LIFE, because you still have to go through JESUS DYING AND RESURRECTING THRU FAITH ONLY.

Christians are destined for the bema seat judgment----1 cor 3

non-beleivers are destined for the GWT---rev 20.

no middle ground, no going back and forth.

black and white.

Jesus Christ is Lord.

yes or no.

Yes, Jesus Christ is Lord, absolutely. Are you saying that as long as we have faith, that there will be no judgement on our eternal destination?

yes, our eternal destiny is justified by our faith alone.

that doesnt mean, we dont lose crowns, or rewards.

here is the scritpure for beleivers...

1co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

1co 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

1co 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

1co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be "SAVED"; yet so as by fire.

Jesus said, no one, can take us out of his or the Fathers hands...

Joh 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

to...

Joh 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Joh 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Joh 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Joh 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Joh 10:19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

Joh 10:20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

Joh 10:21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

Joh 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

Joh 10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

Joh 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

Joh 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

Joh 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Jesus says he has GIVEN us eternal life---not promised only if we are good boys and girls.(thats santa's promise)--

:)

and we shall NEVER perish...

Okay, about this subject pertaining to believers not being judged on WHERE they will spend their eternity. I can understand the above verses. This is where I look at the following verses and wonder. It makes me wonder how can a person possibly know, until they are judged? Take for instance these verses:

Matthew 7:21-23

Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never know you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 12:50

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Matthew 16:27-28

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

After looking at these verses it becomes much harder to just assume that your saved. How will we really know until we are judged by our Father in heaven? It seems to me like I should just try my best, each and every day.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
