I am a firm believer that the Bible is the absolute truth and authority which was inspired by God Himself and written by men with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Bottom line, I believe the Bible is perfect. I have heard so many arguments from people who claim that the Bible is full of contradictions. But when I ask them to name it, it is so easy to argue against them because they misinterpret the Bible. They don't bother to find reasons for the "contradiction" in other books of the Bible. They just choose two verses which seem to say the complete opposite and begin to argue. So I ask all these people to come forth with a few of these "contradictions" and lets discuss them.

Scholars have admitted there have been scribal errors in the Bible. There are some contradictions in the bible that even scholars cant explain why

1- matthews genelogy doesnt have the 42 generations spoken of

2- gospel of matthew and the gospel of mark both have the withered fig tree, in 1 gospel the tree withers right away, the other gospel it takes all night.

3 - Who killed Goliath, David or Elhanan?

1 Samuel 17:50 and 2 Samuel 21:19 - copyist error

4-How many stalls of horses did Solomon have, 4,000 or 40,000?

1 Kings 4:26 and 2 Chronicles 9:25 - copyist error

5-Was Jairus' daughter alive or dead when he came to Jesus?

Matthew 9:18 and Mark 5:23

6-What was written on the sign on the cross?

Matthew 27:37; Mark 15:26; Luke 23:38; John 19:19

these are some of them.

I know what you mean. I've always found it interesting that people who deny the Bible & God have the audacity to try and point out supposed "errors" or contradictions. Really- what is the point ? Are they trying to shake our faith or convince themselves that it's not real to keep from fearing impending judgement ? Either way; both are futile; the Truth is the truth no matter if you believe it or not.

God bless you in your endeavors as you seek His Truth,

Tim

Two reckonings,

Mathew = THE REGAL LEGAL LINE ("The Throne of His father David")

Luke = THE NATURAL LEGAL LINE ("The seed of the Woman"= back to Adam)

2- gospel of matthew and the gospel of mark both have the withered fig tree, in 1 gospel the tree withers right away, the other gospel it takes all night.

2 different trees | Jerusalm | Bethany

3 - Who killed Goliath, David or Elhanan?

2 with the same name:

Goliath of Gath was slain by Elhanan, also a Bethlehemite

5-Was Jairus' daughter alive or dead when he came to Jesus?

Mat 26:29 uses the word "arti" as 'henceforth', yet, they could still see Him, and in Mat 26:64 and Joh 1:51 it is rendered 'hereafter', and stated as 'this day' in 1Co 4:13>

6-What was written on the sign on the cross?

Joh 19:20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

titlos, Joh_19:19 = the which was carried upon the trek to Golgotha from about His neck

I have one:

1Sa 13:1 ?

To all the people who find so called "contradictions" in the Bible, I'd like to ask you all a question. Do you believe in God or not? If it's yes, then how can you possibly believe the Bible is flawed? Do you think God is so lazy that he won't fix a mistake. The almighty and perfect God would allow his Words to be imperfect? Why would God leave us for centuries and lead us on with words that are false? It simply makes no sense. And if you don't believe in God, well you came to the wrong place to try to convince people that everything in the Bible and all we believe is wrong. I'll be praying for you especially.

How about the story of the tower of Babel? The bible claims this as the reason we have different races and languages? This contradicts the fact that melanin content in the skin is the reason for darker or lighter skin colors and the fact that the body sends melanin to the outer layer of our skin as a protection from the sun. Over time, those exposed to more sun eventually evolved a continuously higher melanin content at the outer layer. Is the tower of Babel a childrens story from a people who had no idea about biology? Which is right, the bible story or the facts of biology?

I don't see how they are mutually exclusive, Fog.

You fight too hard to not believe.

That can be cleared up by reading the Chronicles :

1 Chronicles 20:5 "And there was war with the Philistines again, and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver

Is this how you dismiss questions about your faith? Even your dismissal leaves questions like, what do you mean by "mistake"? I thought God didn't make mistakes...

How does the Bible claim that the Tower in Babel has anything to do with races? Languages yes, but races? This was after the Flood, of which one father and three sons, had four different wives, from them come the different races.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
