Who am I?  If I die to Christ then what is left?  Who are we at our core?  We are made anew in Christ. So none of my past experiences, relationships, etc. make me who I am?  What’s left?  Am I just this person that worships God and reads the Bible and that’s it?

I feel glib. Not sure who I am.

Hi Beppybuva,

You are being changed, and that is a process. It is for us to look at the Lord and learn about Him. Navel gazing is not productive as we all have faults and thus can get discouraged. But by looking, learning, appreciating the Lord, who He is, what He has done and what He will do, encourages our heart and gets the focus off ourselves and on to the Lord. And this is who we are being made like by His Holy Spirit.

You will only see your true self in glory when all the old is `burnt up` and the new is revealed.

BTW we die to self, not Christ. Self as in selfishness is what we `die` to, or choose to not act like. And that is a process.

Off the top of my head, there are those who obey the Lord and are blessed, and there are those who don't and aren't. Put another way, there is a paradise to be discovered, and the Lord's commandments point the way.

I believe each of us are a chosen vessel, like a branch attached to the vine. Abiding.
Allowing Christ (not I but Christ) to work through us, as we abide.
Each in our own God given unique personality, used by God for His particular purpose.
Look at all those great men/women of God in the bible. Each one was unique, used of God.
I prefer to let God mold me into the new man He can use, and let loose of my old man.
I enjoy the changes so far. (so does my wife:)

1 Jno 3:2

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, AND IT DOTH NOT YET APPEAR WHAT WE SHALL BE   But we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Even the apostle that Jesus loved cannot tell you exactly what we will be.  But being like Jesus sounds pretty good to me.

God created me the first time, probably before I was born, and perhaps during the first six days of creation waiting to "appear" in bodily form when he willed it.  He didn't ask me if I wanted to be black or white, male or female, or anything else.  He made me the way he wanted to make me.  And he knew I would return to him forever upon leaving this world.  God can do anything he wants with me.  He owns me and loves me.  I trust him completely to do everything perfectly.  I am so glad he is in charge of me, and not me. My choices apart from God have been incredibly stupid in the past.  With God, I have made good choices, because they weren't really mine. They were his.  I leave everything to God to do with me as he will in the first creation, and the one to come.

1 Cor 2:9

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

However wonderful we imagine a life with Jesus in heaven to be, and whatever we become, it will barely scratch the surface of the wonders God will provide.  I will be what he wants me to be, and he will show me wonders beyond my imagination and limitations in this life.  I trust him.  Completely.

I beleive that some things are clear though.  We will have new and incorruptible bodies in heaven.  Whether you call it our spirit, soul, and/or mind that occupies these bodies is probably beside the point.  The essence of us, in full self awareness, and awareness of things outside of our selves will occupy incorruptible spiritual bodies not unlike that of Jesus after his resurrection, when he walked among his disciples for 40 days (Act 1:3), and even ate and drank with them.  I beleive these bodies will be capable of everything our present bodies are capable of, and much, much more.  But these are just my thoughts.  I can't accurately answer questions about our precise state of being in heaven, but Jesus will be more than happy to do that, when we get there, and meet him face to face.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
