A while back we had a season where the board was bombarded with topics about satan and the occult. Now it seems we're bombarded with countless topics about the law. From who is keeping it, who is breaking it, what we should eat, wear, shave, etc...it's amazing.

I'm sure this topic won't thrill those who are facinated with the law but I'm honestly curious why there seems to be more focus and devotion to the Law than on Christ. I'm beginning to wonder if we need a new forum just for the certain few so they can observe their laws, discuss it amongst themselves and praise one another for keeping them to their standards.

It's one thing to have your convictions and stick to them, but it seems like there are some who are trying to force their convictions on others. Most, of course, are in subtle ways...as in the form of "questions" ... but it doesn't take very long before it's obvious the answers they get are not "up to par" or in line with what they believe about the law. This seems rather disingenuous to me. At least if you're going to tell everyone else that they are sinning and wrong, do it openly. Don't disguise your accusation as a question, baiting people to respond so that you can then tell them how wrong they are. I've watched recent topics deteriorate as a "simple question" turned into accusations about going to hell...over something like keeping the Sabbath. And unfortunately, there hasn't been just one topic like this.

WorthyBoards has always been a place of grace and acceptance. There are many people here, from many different faiths and backgrounds who post freely and are received with love and patience. But I think it's an abuse of this grace and freedom for there to be a certain group of people who seem to have an agenda to "enlighten" the people of this board, specifically about their observance (or lack thereof) of the "laws".

To those of you I'm referring to (and I'm sure you know who you are), please...RELAX. Trust the Holy Spirit enough to realize that those of us who are His will discern the truth, He will teach it to us and convict us when we are wrong. That's not to say that we can't encourage one another and teach one another things...but there is a certain aggressiveness in many of these recent topics that is just unneeded. You really don't need to try to be the Holy Spirit for us. Discussions are one thing, that's what this website is for and it's wonderful. But constantly probing people about their personal convictions and then subsequently berating them when it deviates from your standard is another. Please don't do this.

Thank you.

I agree with you, but the simplest way to get a subject stopped is not to frequent it. It winds up being a "going around in circles" debate that goes on page after page after page.

It's a forum and people are gonna disagree. If you want to keep silent about it, you gonna be the bigger man/woman but the other person is gonna have the last word and it will seem like you have no argument and agree or you disagree but have no argument. It's a pride thing most times. Sad to say

For clarification....I wasn't talking about the average debates or even heated discussions. Please re-read my post if that's what you understood it to mean.

I'm fairly new here and don't say much but I sure do read lots. My comment is not related to any particular posts/posters. It's just a general observation made on my part prior to and after becoming a member of Worthy and that is......the bags of stones that some people carry, get lighter and lighter.

I pray my bag will always remain so very heavy.

I just wanted to add my support for Tess' post.

One thing that amazes me is how threads that comment on how wonderful God is or concentrate on His goodness get very little attention. To me that says that Christians may read it but don't comment and think, "Yeah, yeah, God is good, we know that. Same old, same old."

How threads about the greatness of God, His face, His attributes, and the seeking to be nearer to Him are the ones that excite and encourage me. God and His love and goodness never bore me! If someone posts something that seems "basic" or like "Christianity 101", people ignore it. God is not so common as that! Please tell me that people don't believe that!

Another type of topic that people are loathe to participate very much in are the ones that talk about how we can improve our walk with Him. Ones that make us evaluate where we are in that area. Threads like these are frequented by the same Christians. I can pretty much post a topic and tell you who is most likely to respond to it and who will more than likely continue responding to it.

Arguments and harmoneutical, scientific, theological, philosophical, "technical speak" debates are what seems to thrill people more. And some of the topics are just trivial in light of salvation and living in Him! To be honest, most of these debates and arguments are continue out of PRIDE! "I'm right and you're wrong!" How many of these debates ever really accomplish anything? Very, very, very few. There are things worth debating and discussing, absolutely. But.... be careful of being wise in your own eyes!

God gave us life so we could live it! Love, laugh and enjoy each other! None of us are so far along that a trip back to the basics wouldn't benefit us. This is a Christian Fellowship and Message Board, not C-SPAN.

Nice to know that there are proponants of segregation and ghettos here too. :noidea:

If you don't like the questions I ask you don't have to answer them, you certainly don't have to read them, why do they bother so many so much?

Shouldn't we always want to grow, to question why we believe what we do, and always be asking are we doing everything the L-RD wants of us? Are we shining a light into the world or are we shining HIS Light? there is a BIG difference.

One little lie can change your whole perspective on life, I have been taught that many times.

We should always be seeking the truth and never let ourselves be fooled that we have truly found it, till we are in heaven, then we can rest from that.

Oh, and ( I can't speak for anyone else here ) but the only praise my soul craves is "Well done good and faithful servant". Praises of men aren't worth the breath used to say them ( to me anyway).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
