became so focused on factual logic that I'm not just gonna take anybody's word for it

I understand and struggle with the same. It may never be possible to satisfy the logical portion of the mind, but that's ok. It only matters what you feel.

Ask yourself this: if you find yourself facing your immediate and certain death (for example a crashing airplane, etc.), what do you do? I know my answer: I pray God forgive my petulance, arrogance, and willfulness and accept me into his loving arms.

Logic is a luxury of peaceful times. Faith is a necessity when tragedy strikes.

Dear All, I've been raised as a Christian & I do not have a problem what is being said in the Bible & as God gave me a wonderful brain I need to verify everything including what is really going on & the TRUTH, but why does God not make Himself more obvious, is it because it will take our free will away, if that is the case small babies that is killed don't have a choice either and they get a "free ride to heaven". I mean if I'm gonna follow the Bible strictly and have a living relationship with God I must be 99.99% sure I'm not just believing it because I was raised with it, this is very serious stuff?

The same applies if I'm suppose to be an disciple for Him, if I'm not sure myself how can I possibly convince an atheist or other non believer?

Also what confuse me as if you believe in God and pray for Him, why do we need physicians & other specialist to help us? I know God work via people as well, but by consistently praying He should be able to cure any health issue without doing it yourself, how do one balance it?

If a miracle does happen (obviously depends what qualifies for one) people can say yes it was just just good scientific knowledge & no evidence of supernatural was involved.

One cannot just accept, in the Bible is written that you have to vigorously test everything & everyone.

Your main flaw here is that you think you are up to the task of vetting the bible. None of us are.  This is God's word imparted to us, to help us, but His wisdom and intelligence is so far beyond us, when we attempt to ascend to the position of God's judge we fall flat on our face.  We are instructed to Trust God, because that which is impossible for us, is not for Him

Until and unless you are willing to allow that God exceeds your reach, you will never see the glory of God

Proverbs 3:5Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

  1. God is omniscient knowing the end from the beginning (and all the variables from human and angelic choice)... babes that would have believed Jesus had they had a chance to but were killed before that point, no doubt the Lord would take that into consideration... meaning those who would have believed are saved.
  2. Free ride? Ask Jesus what that "free ride" cost him...
  3. Your inquisitive mind is to be commended (1 Thessalonians 5:21 / 1 John 4:1 / Acts 17:11 / 2 Timothy 3:16-17 / Proverbs 25:2 / Deuteronomy 29:29 / Isaiah 28:9-13) But you first must begin at the beginning (Know this first... 2 Peter 1:20-21 ← the Holy Spirit not man interprets the scriptures he wrote) and prepare to be amazed beyond your wildest imagination!!!
  4. Without the miracle of God creating all things from nothing in the first place there would be no science or evidence or those to have an opinion one way or the other
  5. Test all things even the spirits
  6. I suggest studying the teaching of the late Chuck Missler. He tended to get into all the nooks and crannies of things (especially the Bible) he concluded that the Bible is an integrated message system and everything in it has a purpose (down to the minutest part) that was generally encrypted in anticipation of what he called "hostile jamming" Deuteronomy 29:29, Isaiah 28:9-13, Proverbs 25:2 support this. Missler also stated that "the Old Testament contains the New Testament concealed... the New Testament contains the Old Testament revealed."
  7. God never intended for man to throw out his brains and blindly accept what he says as truth... that's man and the devil that say that.

One more thing...

Colossians 1:13–16 (NIV84)
13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

It's hard to be obvious and invisible at the same time!
