If the body of sin is destroyed why does Paul say that he wants their body to be blameless? 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Our old man is crucified with Christ, that the body of of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin.
  Romans 6:6

Our old man is hung on the cross with Christ. Being destroyed.

They that belong to Christ have crucified their flesh with its passions and lusts. Galatians 5:24

That crucifixion of the their old self is a process that is happening in the life of every sincere believer.

Our old self should be destroyed, we are supposed to understand it as dying, dead, hung on the cross.

If we keep coming back and holding/supporting it up on the cross for a while, and giving it food and drink,
will it die faster or slower? How does crucifixion work?

Since there are only 3 chapters in 2 Thessalonians you want 1 Thessalonians, Duck.

1Th 5:23-24  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (24)  Faithful is he that calls you, who also will do it.

Yes, I believe I am sanctified entirely or wholly whenever I repent and confess any and every and all sin.

Oops. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If the body of sin is destroyed why does Paul say that he wants their body to be blameless? ~~~~
Hi, if you would allow me to put forth...
If, by the body of sin, you mean your body that still longs to sin?
This body is not dead, as we all can testify to.. It is still very much alive with it’s craving of this and that...
The body has not died, but we have died to it.. For by this separation, or as scripture calls it this circumcision of the heart by faith, are we set free from it’s dictates... This is done by the faith of the heart believing that when Jesus died they died.. Thus the command to reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive unto God by faith..
This reckoning is necessary because the body that still longs to sin, will still want to rule in life if allowed to do so... Thus being joined to Christ in His death by faith frees one from having to obey it’s dictates... For he that has died is free from sin....
This is why scripture says the just shall live by faith, because all things come from God by faith, including being set free from sin.. Therefore by this faith the body no longer serves sin and then is preserved blameless unto that day...
Take this before God and question Him about this, and get a confirmation or not...
Be blessed in Him, a fellow believer, Not me
It seems appropriate to share this here:
“So, my brothers and sisters, we must not be ruled by our sinful selves. We must not live the way our sinful selves want. If you use your lives to do what your sinful selves want, you will die spiritually. But if you use the Spirit’s help to stop doing the wrong things you do with your body, you will have true life. The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them. The Spirit that we received is not a spirit that makes us slaves again and causes us to fear. The Spirit that we have makes us God’s chosen children. And with that Spirit we cry out, “ Abba, Father.” And the Spirit himself speaks to our spirits and makes us sure that we are God’s children. If we are God’s children, we will get the blessings God has for his people. He will give us all that he has given Christ. But we must suffer like Christ suffered. Then we will be able to share his glory.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:12-17‬
I also enjoy reading about this in Romans 7 too.
    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.
      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.
      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.
      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.
      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”
    • Understanding the Enemy!
      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!
      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.
      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,
      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.
      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!
    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,
      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.
      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."
      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
