When i was ignorant of scripture i listened to these men and women. After i started debating scripture online i learned things, and i stopped listening to preachers. I have found a very special place in my heart that is more exciting than listening to a preacher fire me up with his flawed teaching. When you look within with a contrite heart, and seek Gods Spirit to lead you in victory over your sin, there is no better feeling than that. We put too much value in theology and teachers i think. ITs our personal walk that matters.

Just don't throw the baby out with the bath water, there are good preachers out there, mostly on the radio. TV requires too much money it seems to allow an honest ministry

I like Alistair Begg, and others I hear on Bott Radio Network

Scripture does that for me. We fellowship in the Spirit and share knowledge. I like to read the scriptures people post. I believe God speaks that way.

Then you are a better man than I because sometimes I get so battered down, I need a little help from others just to hear from God, and then once the well is primed, it runs again

No, we both get help from others. We just get it in different ways.

I believe if we do reap money that its not for us, its not to build mansions, drive luxury cars, wear expensive clothes, have expensive furniture, vast amounts of land and such. Matter of fact the church in acts sold what they had, they didn't buy even more land and stuff. (Acts 2:45-47) Its for others. Paul talks about equality. (2 Corinthians 8:14)He says churches should share if they want to do good. When one church has plenty they share with one that doesn't, and in turn that church that gets help will help when they have plenty. Some preachers have gained a lot of material possessions but is it right? Should we follow their example? I say no. What do you say?

A few other scriptures to consider.

Proverbs 30:8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
    give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that is needful for me,
9 lest I be full and deny you
and say, “Who is the Lord?”
or lest I be poor and steal
and profane the name of my God.

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

The love of money is a sin. God gives us what we need not necessarily what we want.

Reading Matthew 6 I am impressed that God wants us to have "Enough"

But to me there is something very wrong about driving around a car that could give some single mom a house, or buy a house with money that could by 5 houses

However I have never been "burdened" with extreme wealth, so I have no personal experience.  I know I have a enough and a little more than I can use to help others from time to time

I haven't been burdened with extreme wealth either. Too much can be a trap as easily as too little if we set our heart on it (i.e. money, "stuff," etc.) instead of the Lord.

There's a huge difference between buying a luxury car and having some reliable transport to get to work and all. Same for a house. It doesn't need to be a shack, but is a mansion really needed?

I'll just close with the observation that certain preachers out there who say God wants everyone healthy and wealthy in this life are in for a nasty surprise come judgement day.

I live not far from Florida beach. It once was not counted among the higher class at the time but because of its location it had potential to cater to rich retirees. Not long  posterity got its grip, There were many who were jobless and poor. living in the woods. Hispanics who could not get paying jobs to feed their families. I had an acquaintance who had a heart for God and ministered to many of them by playing a guitar  singing Christian songs while serving meals money for. An other person with her supplied. food . They were humble and doing Gods work.

One day my friend made the mistake of going to local churches for support. One in particular being one of the larger congrigations in town dove right in to be a part. They formed a board that got state funding . It was like putting  a noose around their neck. The board did not like   the religious format and got rid of the founders. Meantime the town prospered and wanting to attract more rich retiree's. The city leadership did not like the idea of a soup kitchen  being to close to town so they moved the soup kitchen to an out of the way spot .  Still lines of poor families came but there was not one word that ministered Christ except for saying a short prayer for starting. Most just wanted a quick meal and left.

Now getting to poster complaint. The church people would show up in fine clothes and hairdos . When they came they were driving the finest makes cars and and flashy sports cars. They were show offs while the poor mothers and children in dirty clothes walked be with their plate. I was disgusted at the insensitivity. They could have dressed down and still look clean. Traditional church has done this. I know that there are many churches not like that but just making a point. I wonder if when we sand before the Lord will we be on grand display.

Just saying.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
