I've walked in those shoes, Whyme. I remember and will never forget for as long as I endure on this earth.

From that day when the Spirit of the Lord plucked me from this world until the present, I spent close to 30 years embroiled in the most severe of trials. The words of my mother who despised me, "You'll never amount to a hill of beans in this world  because you're worthless!" might seem cruel and even heartless to the reader, but I'm here to attest they were nevertheless the truth. She spoke truly.

Praise the Lord! Even though I was destitute, having no family and no place to call home, doesn't mean that I grasped what Christ not only expected of me, but also what the Lord intended to display in me. It was too great and wonderful for me to comprehend. I had such a long way to go, my friend. The way there was grim and terrifying and so my ignorance, much like my mother's parting words, was a blessing from our Father in heaven.

I only knew what lie directly before me. I didn't know about autism during those long years either, yet another blessing from the Lord. At no time could I say to the One who chose me "I can't do it because of my disabilities," because it never was about me nor my efforts, @Whyme. It's always been about the Lord and His will on this earth.

I learned what it means to suffer agony, to be accused wrongly, to be an outsider, to lay down my life for another, to face death, and to be lifted up by the hand of God. I was spent when the Lord said, Rise and stand to your feet. I had no strength left in this body but when He spoke, I discovered that I had the strength to obey His voice. His will is always done.

This was His will and that work which Jesus Christ intended to display in me all along, and it was far too great for me to see on that day when His Spirit first came to me. The same holds true for you. I see it. :)

Thanks bro

When we read the Gospel of Mathew we have Jesus Christ talking to his contemporary people of his time in Israel, as it is in chapter 7.

Why in your post above you put down "that God said" those words in Mathew 7, when it was Jesus and not God who said those words.

@Your closest friendnt

John 5:30, "I can of mine own self do nothing: "AS I HEAR", I judge: and my judgment is just; because "I SEEK NOT MY OWN WILL", but "THE WILL OF MY FATHER" which hath sent me."

As I get older, and after studying many decades, more and more I read scripture as being authored by God through the writers and through Jesus, as the verse above clearly states, and other verses do also.

Yes Jesus did say that in Matthew 7:13 and Luke 13:23-24, but the bible is Gods story to the entire human race, and God is Jesus in human form, as we all know, and so I tend to think and speak in broader terms now than I used to, and it's my way of giving people who read this the credit for already knowing God is Jesus.

I hope that answers your question my friend. GOD BLESS YOU .

:24: For that to be true something I have actually posted would have to be shown incorrect and that has not been done. I didn't concede. After having said my piece, made several attempts to explain that position in hopes of collaborative fellowship and conversation and seen it alternatively ignored and misrepresented I applied Titus 3:9-11

You didnt answer my last post. Who is saying that verse 5 is done in the flesh? Not me, so why is it even relevant? What is your point exactly? However, How do you know God doesnt want us to choose? How does choosing Godly thoughts come from the flesh? You say choosing to think about Godly things is just the flesh? I dont agree. The fleshy mind is against God, it doesn't think about his ways, the scripture we are discussing says so. The scripture says the fleshy mind cant obey God or think about Godly things.

Read my post. Go back to my original post and read it for what it actually states. I was misquoted more than once. Go back and (re-)read my original post for what it states, and the say "Amen," because it is in fact true and correct when not misquoted and misrepresented. There is no argument. Those who imagine there is an argument there are imagining it.

I already read it, the self - involving praise, but what ever.

I wanted to share a couple scriptures about how to deal with sin in our lives. Scripture and God are the teachers.  Do these two scriptures teach the same thing? Are they related? They sound like they are, what is your opinion? Note they both refer to peace. Please feel free to post more scripture and or your opinion about overcoming the flesh/sin in our lives. Thank you. Im sorry to burden you with yet another thread. I wished i had another place to post this one but i have no clue where that would be.

Romans 8:5 For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind [f]set on the flesh is death, but the mind [g]set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind [h]set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned[e] and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Both Paul’s quotes. What would John say on the subject of dealing with sin in our lives? Or even better, Jesus?

Jesus says we must abide in Him to bear fruit..

1 John 2:6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.

John doesnt address overcoming sin in detail that i can see. He doesnt say guard your heart, or meditate on good things. In His letters hes addressing those who have already overcome, at least it sounds that way. All His letters refer to them walking in the truth. Jesus gave us many commands and they teach us how to abide in Him, in my opinion.

John 1:11 Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

This scripture seems relevant. I actually started a thread on this.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
