Great, but that is not quite what is being asked of you. What is being asked of you is the matter of "only," or "alone," as in I need only the Bible and the Spirit only. I need only the Bible and the Spirit alone. Neither I nor anyone else is asking you about any other position or practice.

If it is true that you hold the belief that only the Bible and the Spirit are all that is needed then can you understand how the following statement is contradictory?

Can you see the conflict between the stated position and the statement just made?

I know you don't like it when I make these sort of observations and ask these kinds of questions so start small. Just answer the question asked. We can build from there no matter the answer as long as the question asked is answered

Can you see the conflict between the position all that is needed is the Bible and the Spirit but fellowship is sought....?

There is no conflict, i seek fellowship in the Spirit. God teaches me everything i need to know. I know others agree with me, i hear it in their words, they know what i mean. You want to point out contradictions but its really just strife brother. Did John contradict himself when he said his flock needed no man to teach them? No, he knew they had the truth in them and false teachers would only lead them astray. I have the truth as well, and RCC, SDA, Lutherism, Calvinism, WOF prosperity preachers, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, baptist, MJ, or whoever is only a stumbling block in my path. All things are mine, i have Paul, Peter, James, John, and Jude. Mathew Mark Luke and John. I have Gods Spirit teacher inside me. Do you know Him?

When I was a new babe, I joined a church, they did a lot of damage to me, I’m not going into detail, it was just God and I for the next 23 yrs...

I rely solely on God at that time, 2 yrs ago,I believe he wanted me to join a church,I was very hesitant ,but listened to his leading and joined one, I was there a few months then covid broke out, we now have zoom on FB, which I join on a Sunday....I only listen to God and obviously the pastor who I believe is from God.....man can tell you to do this and that...but the Lord is the number one who I listen to..I have been walking with him for 30 yrs...he watches over me and leads me...listening to others can be a good thing...but it can also be a bad thing..test the Spirits.

I agree. I have social anxiety so i didnt attend church for many years. I actually had to get on medication just to work. I relied on God alone because Hes all i had. I try, in my own way, to share that. I resist teachers because i have seen all the divisive denominational theology. Who needs that? Just give me a scripture and a prayer, God will do the rest.

Without going into details.....

  • Were good and valid lessons learned from the experience?
  • In hindsight and greater maturity, to what degree is the experience considered a matter of Providence?
  • Is Romans 8:28 relevant and applicable?

Those answers pay valuably into the op-topic.

Indeed, very much so, that is why I was called to go back to church, He is about to finish what he started...,long story, I am now in line with His Will, not the will of man or woman.

It taught me to be very ,very wary who I listen to, and only to listen to Him, he leads me in everything, and I listen only to him...and the teachings of the pastor, which is in line with his word....

Brother--you may not realize it, but you are learning something through folks here at the forum. Do you believe this statement?

When Solomon was offered anything he desired he asked for wisdom and knowledge

Yep, and then the wisdom that he received taught him this:

Ecc 12:12

And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.  :P

True knowledge and wisdom leads us to God in Christ....knowing Him and knowing what matters to Him and what doesn't.   That is the wisdom and knowledge the Lord wants us to treasure and pursue.  It's not the wisdom of the world and flesh since we haven't received the spirit of the world.

You don’t have to go to church Whyme, only if God prompts you to and he will, he is in control of every situation, I had a pastor many yrs ago who said you must do this and you must do that...I left after 3 yrs, because it made me ill, I rested in God Who I believe took me out of that church, I have matured in God I believe, I test everything that Christians say, as soon as I start hearing foreign stuff to me,I zone out..always look to God Whyme...

What is there to learn? I see people arguing over the same old arguments but never resolving them. What can we learn from that?

Have you read the two links in my signature? If not, please do so and then tell me if there is anything to learn there of value. If you have read them, can you tell me you learned nothing?

A real teacher points you to Christ not themselves. What did Paul say? Imitate me because i imitate Christ. They are happy to see someone who doesn't need them anymore, who is not like a new born babe needing milk. See John, he was happy that his flock "walked in the truth". They are happy to see a mature student who learned to follow Christ in the grace of God. What are we? Babies who need a teacher for the rest of our lives? People see Paul calling himself a father and they think they need a father. But Paul called himself a father to the Corinthians because he could not address them as spiritual people, but rather babes in Christ. Is not the point of a student to become like their teacher? If the student doesnt grow up the teaching must be flawed. Perhaps because it puts too much emphasis on following men rather than the Lord.

Isa 28:9

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
