If we need teachers.....

Then who do they need to teach them?.......

Who do teachers rely on for their knowledge?......after all they never stop learning either, do they?

God has put them there for a reason, to lead us, as long as they are preaching the word of God, I’m happy to listen..

If one is prone to teach, it is only by inference. Much study and reading might yield some help here. Unfortunately many have taken on untruths and do not see it.

---------Contemplate the following:--------------

Consider this. The church is fragmented and split into several camps. Pre-mil is one and Dispensational offshoots is another set. Then see how many on this site are still arguing about Revelation and vials, and bowls and futurist stuff that already came to pass. Our attention has been cleverly subverted and we do not do the Job of Kings and Priests because we are looking over our shoulders for the fake-rapture and tribulation and MOB etc. We are already in the '1000' years right now, between Advents.
The tribulation happened in 70AD, yet the money making profiteers keep setting dates that never actually happen - and sell more books. A study of OT prophetic sayings will reveal a plethora of hyperbole, cloud language and terrible apocalyptical descriptions. It is the recognized way the prophets emphasized God's wrath and indignation. Go check it out.

Our future holds just one thing: The second coming and the separation between the sheep and the goats along with a huge Cosmic fight called Har-mo-ade in Hebrew - that is, the battle for Mount Zion.
(Har means mountain and is NOT the plain of Megiddo)

Teachers can learn from each other.

Agreed.

That is why I like Dr. Heiser. He takes peer reviewed scholarship and distils it in his many lectures and books so ordinary folk can understand and learn from it. As Dr. Heiser says on many occasions, "the dirty little secret is none of this originated from me". "I just facilitate and disseminate the facts as I research them and will always give the opposing views."

I like Dr Heiser's books and research. His podcasts lose me. I think he needs to condense some of those long explanations to more basic ones but that's me. I'm not noted for being the best listener so admittedly some of it is probably me.

I believe there is a danger in clinging to only one teacher even if he is a good one.  I don't ever let myself get too cozy with one man's viewpoints. I constantly come back to the scriptures and what they say. To look at good credentials along with a good track record is commendable in any pursuit, yet I won't rely entirely on that for things which I am unsure. The explanation has to work for me.

We can all teach, we can all preach  and our number one teacher is the Holy Spirit

John 14: . 26 But the [g]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

That being said God has called and gifted some people to specialize in teaching the word, In breaking it down line by line, precept by precept. Doing expository work that can add more information on the bible than we could think to glean ourselves

But as with everything that comes from man, and as Paul commended the Bereans. Take what you hear, compare it to the bible and see if its true.

And my own advice would be neither completely accept or reject what you may hear, without consulting God.

I assume the best and that all of us desire to know the Truth. We all apply the abilities that God gives each of us for things like reading and study, analysis and synthesis. The Bereans did this and God blessed them and there is an eternal record attesting to it. These talents and abilities are relative. These talents and abilities are things that God uses. He knows how we are made because He made us. As our senses are exercised to recognize the Spirit and His instruction, we are better able as individuals to lay hold of what He is imparting to us. There are things that can get in the way of learning. Its profitable, to become aware of those things. It relates to personal growth and maturity. I won't discuss the indicators of maturity both as natural humans and Christians, but they are clear and can be recognized for great gain.

None of these things have anything to do with God's love for us and our standing in Christ--which is a settled issue in God's point of view, but these things do affect our time while in these mortal bodies. These things are self-evident.

For a mature heart and mind, with an open and honest ear---one of the ways to know if a teaching or teacher is the work of Christ for His Church--Gold, Silver or precious stones---is whether you profited from it. Did it expand on your sense of Christ? Did it point you too Him. Even if not directly related to salvation, the inner man delights in Truth.

Having said these things, its obvious there are disagreements. Its obvious that we all read the same scriptures and conclude differently. One way or another this is in large part due to biases. Biases that originate from teachings and preachings we are exposed to or from our 'own' interpretations of scripture. God is not offended--He knows. What is most important whether we are in error or not, is how we behave: is the fruit of the Spirit in evidence? One thing that ones realize over time and maturity is 'what is most important to be rock solid on'. Some things regarding our walk are more vital than others. Notice the word 'more'.

We do not have to be always 'right' to be used of Christ for the benefit of His Church. Keep in mind that we can be right and also be wrong and we can be wrong and also be right. Life flows when the two way valves are open. Keep the valve open.

Learn to listen and learn to hear---it takes time. Its the way of things.

And always remember Romans 8.28. Trust Him.

Even basket cases can grow---a saint can thrive on the nutrition provided from a simple understanding of the Cross-- for a lifetime.

Chew and digest 'that' for the next 10 years and while doing that--entertain other things in stride.

God knows.

When I see a teacher glorifying in himself and taking the credit away from God...with is his “ own” words, his own writing, that’s like holding a red flag  in front of me,

Unfortunately some teachers do like to be glorified, that has been my experience , puffed up with their own “ self”

Thankfully we aren’t to worship or glorify them...?

Only God is worthy of Praise.

We're all born with a clean slate, not knowing anything. It would be nice if knowledge and experience was passed down through DNA, as most of our physical attributes are, but that wasn't God's plan. A small child is close to a burner of a stove; his mother stresses to him not to touch the burner, it's super hot and will hurt him. The child slowly moves his hand toward the burner, in defiance of his mothers advice and command, all the while watching her to see what she might do to him. The child's hand touches the burner, lesson learned, a teaching moment, his mother is smarter than he thinks he is, and will believe her from now on [hopefully].

As a general rule, are we smarter than someone 20, 30, 50 years our elder? Is someone stuck in a ghetto as smart as a college professor, if not, why not? Most people acquire and accumulate knowledge and expertise in a certain area(s) and specialize in it.

If I want to learn how to build a house and be a carpenter, I'll join the trade union. If someone is called to become a pastor or minister, they will likely become a disciple at a Bible College, university or seminary. From someone creditable who has studied, been taught (Rabbi, Master, Teacher) and accumulated knowledge, experience and wisdom.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
