We have had it easy here in the west.

Things are starting to change as the general view of our society is against Christian morality and against Christianity.

What do you think the equality bill is all about?

What has been happening to a few Christian companies, bakers etc is likely to start happening to any Christian who states what the Bible says about marriage etc.

Colossians 3

New International Version

Living as Those Made Alive in Christ

3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.

Thanks, @Whyme... This passage makes the advantage we have in Christ so clear!  I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard people say that one doesn’t have to be a Christian to be a good person—that there are many good people who have never heard of Christ.  The trouble with that philosophy is that literally everyone sins, and while sin doesn’t necessarily make someone is bad person, sin does make a person dead—and without hope for a future beyond this life.  Once we surrender to Jesus, the old self with all its sin is symbolically crucified, and God’s grace takes over.  Following Christ doesn’t just make us better people.  Following Christ makes us alive people!  Because He arose from the grave, we will, too.

Romans 6:5-11  (NKJV)

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I think another aspect of this path of thought is we a do not consider that which we have sacrificed as anything to consider loss

Phil 3:8-14

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Crucifying oneself is painful.  Feeling like i have been a victim of others discrimination deeply wounds me inside like a nail that pierces my flesh.

Galatians 5:24  "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."

Galatians 5:25 "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

We are all brothers and sisters in the Lord, and we are to forgive those who have hurt us....or ask to be forgiven for something we might’ve done.  Jesus died that we might rest in Him and find peace and live blessedly with hope and joy. :)

Just a moment ago i thought of something really stupid that i did.. I do that often. I closed my eyes and with a big sigh i asked the Lord to help me. I found rest and peace. I thought how good it would be to apply that to the pain others may inflict on us. Its the pain we feel thats hard to forgive, but if we can find peace and rest in the Lord then it overcomes the pain.

At least twice in my life (that I know about), I have been the subject of ugly gossip—gossip that was not even remotely true.  The first time, I was extremely hurt because the gossip had to have originated with a fellow Christian.   Even worse, the rumor spread throughout the church as far as another state.  I was sooooooo angry and embarrassed, and yes, deeply wounded.  I just wanted to hide.  I didn’t trust my friends anymore because I didn’t know for sure who was responsible.  I didn’t know who believed the lie and who didn’t.  Really all I could do is tell God all about it, and rely on Him to be “the lifter of my head.”   Like you, I wanted the guilty party to suffer for doing such a terrible thing, and I wanted God to shame everyone who listened to such garbage.  But you know what?  My wonderful Father, our great and awesome God, turned that period of my life into a great learning/growing time.  He became my real best Friend, just as He is yours right now.  As time passed, I learned to trust people again, but with greater wisdom.  I learned that while people might often disappoint me and hurt me, He would use it for my good.  I learned to let go of hurts quickly and let Him handle “gossipers” and anyone else who might ever come against me—in His own way and in His own time.  He took away all resentment and bitterness I felt against those who wronged me.  So ironically, being the subject of gossip was one of the best things that ever happened to me.  I know God can do the same for you!

The same goes for all the bad things happening in the world around us.... Scripture tells us to expect these things.  We just need to keep growing, abiding in Him, and showing His love to those He puts in our path.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
