Republicans have always wanted to prevent voter fraud - this didn't suddenly come up yesterday.

There are already laws on books to prevent voter fraud. What the Republicans want to do is to prevent people from voting against them.

The vault is empty, but some are arguing that it was not robbed because nobody has "proven"

So...what you are saying is, Trump lost and Biden won the election. Therefor the election fraud must have taken place. Hmmm?

No, we said election fraud took place for many many people in the congressional and Senate hearings in sever states heard direct testimony that they witnessed the fraud.

Had you taken the time to watch those hearings you probably would not say the things you do....    Unless you just think the whole world is lying about it.    If that is the case I'm sorry for you..

Well, the point of the new laws is to stop democrats from LEGALLY voting period.  In Georgia, no food and water can be provided to people waiting in line for hours.  Hmm.  Where in Georgia are there long voting lines?  Primarily in the cities which are mostly minority and democrat.

This has nothing to do with Democrats legally voting. It is about eliminating fraudulent voting, and nothing else.

It's not that.  It's that these laws are specifically designed to limit minority voters or at a minimum discourage them from voting.  After Obama won a surprise victory in NC in 2008, the Republican legislature commissioned a study to find out how African Americans voted in the State.  Then the Legislature made voter restrictions to target these ways.  A judge said of the law that the Republicans targeted African Americans with surgical precision.  In Georgia also a law was passed that made it illegal to give food and water to those waiting in long lines for hours.  What does that have to do with fraud?

The law has nothing to do with limiting minority voters. It is trying to eliminate fraudulent voting, and nothing else.

Well no. And it is something that is already done.

I don't know why anyone would object to laws written to prevent fraudulent voting.

The laws currently on the books are not sufficient.

I'm old enough to remember that when SS was created, we were told that your number could never be used as a general purpose ID. It's why I only give it out to the IRS and potential employers who will be withholding SS.

That your memory goes back 86 years, no wonder your user name is Still Alive, congratulations!

Okay let me explain the ID issue. ID cost money to get. When I moved to another state, I had to get a new driver's license.

etc. etc. yeah I get it. I live in California, where we require a voter I.D. but I have never been asked for one since the first time I voted, back in 1972. Having a voter election law, does not mean than the law is enforced.

Meanwhile, I was denied a Covid Vaccination, because I do not have a government issued photo I.D. I also cannot pick up a order at the Home Depot order desk, without a photo I.D. even when I have the receipt, the credit card that was used to pay for the item, and the email from Home Depot informing me to come and pick up my item. I always email and tell them someone else is picking it up, and I let them pick it up for me.

Clearly, when buying a 59 cent PVC elbow it is much more important to establish who you are dealing with than it is for mere national elections.
