If you’ve studied first century history, you’re probably familiar with the story about the followers of Christ who fled from Judea to Pella just before the Jewish-Roman War began in AD 66. The story of their flight was told by early church leaders including Eusebius (AD 263-339), Epiphanius (AD 315-403), and Remigius (AD 437-533) – and perhaps also by Josephus (Wars 2.14.2, 2.20.1). They obeyed the words of Jesus (Matthew 24:15-21, Mark 13:14-19, Luke 21:20-23) and were protected in the wilderness for 3.5 years (Revelation 12:14).

You are mistaken; They obeyed the words of Jesus in Matt 24: 15-21.  Jesus says when you see standing in the holy place the A/D spoken by the prophet Daniel, you are to flee.  You have some group of people leaving over 3 years before they are to leave.  Follow the instructions

Symeon is mentioned in Matthew 13:55 and Mark 6:3 as one of Christ’s brothers (and also referred to in I Corinthians 9:5). However, The Pulpit Commentary explains why he was believed to be Jesus’ cousin rather than His brother:

Which is it.  What Scripture says or the However part.  Now you are running amok with someones thesis.  However.  Did God really say do not eat of the fruit. However

What about all the other Jews who were scattered and sent into captivity by the Romans to many, many nations.  They begin returning in May of 1948, and since that time.

Here you are substituting the Scattered nation of Israel with some early Jewish believers.  Not the same.

Here is the However I am referring to Above.  Comparing Scripture and then saying However in direct to opposition of stated Scripture.  A brother now becomes a cousin.

Did God really say;  However

Hi there, Clancy …. So in other words, God never told Adam not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil….
This is what God actually said:

Genesis 2:16-17

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Hope this helps. :)

Genesis 3:2-4

The fall of man.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.He said to the woman,” Did God really say,You must not eat from any tree in the garden?

The woman said to the serpent,

We May eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say ,

You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.

To me, you will  die...means spiritual death, cut off from God....

Preterists seem to do a lot of substituting when they cannot believe in a literal translation. example: Israel (Daniels People) becomes the Church. Suggesting 2 temples in 70AD.  There is only One Temple Mount, thus only One Temple. They will quote Scripture, then say however, in direct opposition to said Scripture. They will use history to prove a point, yet their history does not match the outcome of said prophecy.  Matt 24:15 is stated to be Christians leaving 3 years earlier than the prophecy states and being relocated out of harms way. What is to be on a temple mount; a Temple. Empty at this time.  Maybe instead of delving to much into the past, one should look what is going on Now in Israel.  The Temple Institute will give some clue on what the Nation of Israel is presently looking at.  And that ain't good for Preterist doctrine.  Israel and Preterists are at odds.  Who do you want to believe?

All straw man and ad holmium stuff. I see no quotes and I have given loads.

The more we fuss, the weaker our position is demonstrated to be. :o

I do not care for eschatology, especially the false darby narratives.

:emot-partyblower:Look about 10 posts up. My response to the paste job you did. Most all your quotes were debunked.  Your Pulpit commentary. however, brothers are now cousins.  Believers leaving 3 years before the stated time of the A/D.  If you not care for eschatology, Why are you here.  The nation of Israel is eschatology.  And I do not care for False History.  False timelines, False comparisons. Substitution Theology.  All of which are encompassed by Preterists.  Gentry, Simmons, Stuart, all with scales over their eyes.  Very little happened in 70 AD, get over it.

Not straw man, not ad holmium stuff. Just against what some peddle around here.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
