My English teacher made us six questions and I consider important share with you the answers, for I believe that this will be very beneficial.

1 - What are some reasons that people become homeless?

One of the reasons is that people look forward to making money. They put in great effort in it (they ignore Proverbs 23.4), hang on to it and, when this goes wrong, they despair. When they don’t jump off a building (perhaps in virtue of someone talking them down), they go crazy and start to panhandle.

Another hypothesis is family problems. This do the man to move out, to entangle in addictions and to make himself into wanderer. Many times, we hustle to grow in career or material things and put off praying and loving. Without this, the life isn’t worth being lived. In the inner most this person is already bum and mean.

Have a nice week in Christ Jesus, always believing in what the Holy Scripture says:

•    “But having food and clothing, we will be content. But they who will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which plunge men into destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all evils, of which some having lusted after, they were seduced from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1Tim 6.6-8).

Drug addiction is one of the major reasons for homelessness around where we live.

Accidents causing long term physical damage where people can't work to earn a living.

Mental health making it impossible for people to carry on a normal life is another.

I know a few homeless people that simply enjoy that lifestyle.   One in particular was a doctor and he became homeless to help others.

I don't remember what show I was watching, but it was something like 20/20. But anyway, one of the articles they had was about a family that had become homeless through the loss of an apartment they were living in. While they were out enjoying the summer day somewhere else, a fire broke out and burned down the whole apartment complex where they lived.

They lost all of their belongings. The father of the family had a less than understanding boss, and instead of helping him work through the situation, the boss fired this man. It is not always easy or simple to obtain another job quickly. Specially when interviewers expect those hopefuls to be dressed to the nines and have a permanent address.

This man's situation, left him with neither. And made it very difficult for him to obtain a job. And the family found themselves living in their vehicle and both parents trying to find income of some sort for a long time. After that show aired, someone stepped up and offered the man a job and helped the family find a place to live.

No matter what country a person lives in, there are many, many individuals who find themselves homeless, through no fault of their own. You (as in general speaking, no one here specifically) do not have the full story on how or why another is poor or homeless. As Christians, it is NOT our job to speculate on how or why they are homeless... but on helping them in any way that we can, out of the hole they are in, specially when they are seeking for a way out.

1. They lose their job because their work place is cutting back on staff.

If the employee is hardworking, competent, honest and have good vision hardly ever he will be dismissed.

3. They lose their job because of health problems.

If the employee is everything that I quoted above and has communion with Jesus, what David said in his psalm will be fulfilled:

  • Psa 37:25  -> "I have been young, and am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed begging bread".

4. They have reached mandatory retirement age but can't afford to live on their life savings and it runs out.

If the person live by faith in Jesus, loving the neighbor as Jesus loved Him, He will supply what is good (as it is promised in Mat 6:33; Eph 1:3; Phil 4:19; 2Pe 1:3; Heb 13:5,6).

5. They were orphans and after graduation from high school were put out on the street.  And although they worked part time while in school, the cost of living was so high that as they tried to survive and find a full time job their resources ran out.

For those who love Jesus:

  • Psa 34:9,10 -> "O fear Jehovah, His holy ones; for there is nothing lacking to those who fear Him. The young lions lack, and suffer hunger; but those who seek Jehovah shall not lack any good thing."

Are any of my reasons potential reasons in your country?  Have you thought of any similar in nature to mine?

Yes, they are. Unfortunately, here in Brazil, it is difficult to find people that is honest, hardworking and dedicated. Most of the people, influenced by rebel politicians and soap operas, have bad eyes and, as Paul said:

  • Tit 1:15 -> "To the pure all things are pure. But to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience is defiled."

There are several reasons why a person or families become homeless. It is sad.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
