Latest bad news regarding Ivermectin

I've been very encouraged recently by the positive news regarding Ivermectin for use in COVID cases. However, it appears that we really need some new and large studies to help confirm this. There was a recent major story regarding a the publication of a large Ivermectin study that has been removed due to ethical concerns. You can read more here:

There are countless testimony in this nation of people healed by Ivermectin or HCQ/CQ + Zinc & Vit D.

I heard Merck will  release a Covid drug at 200x the price of Ivermectin so they need to get rid off it :

WHO also place expensive Tocilizumab to replace the cheap Dexamethasone.

If you research what Ivermectin does to the human body, it is reported that it has a mild anti-coagulation and anti-inflamitory action in human and animal body.    It works by messing with nerve connections in parasites to kill them, but our blood-brain barrier keeps it from messing with our brain and central nerves.

So when the people say that it does not actually cure the virus they are correct.   What it does is keep our own immune system from killing us while the body deals with the virus itself.    Most viral deaths come from our own immune response to the virus, be it from inflammation or the clotting.   

From what I read the FDA only wants Ivermectin used in clinical trials to document it's effects.    When you are dealing with a virus that only kills 2% or less of the people who get it, it's hard to know what a drug actually does and what would have happened anyway.   That's how snake oil people make a living.  Find something that one out of a thousand would die from and sell the snake oil to prevent death....   and for 999 out of a thousand it seems to work.  That other person who died probably had other things wrong that kept the snake oil from working.       That's the scenario that the FDA fights and is a good thing...    however like the snake oil people themselves, sometimes humans pervert a good thing for acquiring wealth.  In my opinion that's what's happened to the FDA.

So how do Pfizer and the other vaccines work.    They teach your body how to deal with the virus before it has a chance to get a foothold in our bodies.  That has seemed to be a better way to deal with something that kills two out of a hundred and long term damages ten.

I completely agree that vaccines are the best tool we have to fight COVID - where they are available. However, vaccines are going to take a long time to get to many countries where Ivermectin is much more available. I am still hoping this works for those places in the world that will have to wait for vaccines.

Problem is how much Ivermectin is there to go around.    Part of the problem with Hydroxychloroquine is the availability of it and those who use it for other serious diseases.   I have friends with Lupus that had trouble getting it for their own use for that problem.

Yeah, this is an important consideration, and I really have no idea regarding the answer. Some solid studies that continue to show efficacy would (I would hope) lead to an increase in production.
