And a great deal of that can be attributed to the the belief politics are wrong for Christians.

Actually politics lead to more darkness  not light. It divides the body and causes contention, covetousness, discontentment and all manner of fleshy works. Its not our job to rule over unbelievers. You cant make others submit to Christ.

I completely agree with you: socialism is not God's way. Christians, therefore, should act in a manner consistent with that belief (or we might all end up living in an ungodly world of socialism :o).

Thanks for shortening your posts to a manageable size. Socialism may not be Gods way but its not our business what the world does, if they choose socialism that's not our responsibility to correct. We don't sin by paying taxes to a socialist government  either. Give unto Caesar that which is his.

Do you think you, me, Made In USA, other one, missmuffet - despite our theological differences - could come to some consensus on homosexual marriage and abortion if we were five of the nine SCOTUS judges?

Who cares if homosexuals marry? God will judge them, all we can do is preach the truth but you cannot legislate the Gospel. You cant force it down people throats. As much as i hate abortion and will say its wrong, God is still in control so if he can tolerate it without stopping it who am i to stand in his place and do it myself?

I'm in agreement with @Josheb and @other one. Christians have been conceding so many spheres of human activity. If we are to be salt and light, we've got to be engaged in all aspects of human endeavour. To give up on it is unstewardly and does not bless those around us.

Prove it.

What makes you think I haven't already considered it?

There is certainly a lot of diversity of thought but, as I said earlier, diversity is not necessarily division. Neither does the existence of division preclude eventual unity given the standard of God's word and the same Holy Spirit at work in each of us.

The two are not mutually exclusive conditions. In your scenario God rules absent the involvement of His Son's body. In my scenario we are active collaborators with God in His sovereign rule.

I dont need to prove that Christians are divided. They dont agree on political things and belong to different political factions. You call that having the same mind and judgment as Paul urges us to have? Your problem is you want to legislate the Gospel but you cant force others to follow the Gospel.

You think the definition of light is to force others to obey God?

So you think the world is worse off now than it was 2000 years ago? The Magna Carta was darkness and not light. The US Constitution was darkness and not light. The fact the US (and other western countries where Christianity is prevalent) sending missionaries all over the world sponsored by the government was more darkness not light? You think the freeing of slaves was darkness, not light? You think women no longer being chattel was darkness not light? You think the development of the Red Cross, the hospital system, orphanages, and social services was darkness not light? Democracy and representative republics are darkness not light?

Prove it.

I think God brought those things to pass using unbelievers. Many of our founding fathers were unbelievers. They may have had religion but not always Christian religion. Im not saying that peacefully protesting slavery was wrong. Im saying that joining a faction that causes us to be divided is darkness. Politicians make a game of dividing us, that's how they win power. Even MLK said neither the republicans or Democrats are Gods party.

That is not an answer to my question.

Do you understand everyone is reading your responses to my posts and everyone is examining your ability to make the case for your position? Do you understand no one but you has suggested legislating the gospel? Do you understand no one is suggesting force but you? Do you understand just how mesed up your reading of these posts are?

Hope that's short enough for you.

You are saying we need to engage in politics. That is about legislating. You also say its about light. So i must assume you want to legislate the gospel. Im done talking to you. I'll wait for others to respond.

We already have strife and division just talking about whether we should engage in politics. Look, if you want politics you can have it, im not trying to force anything on you. Im happy without it though. God rules and judges unbelievers, he doesnt need my help.

It must be between believers seeing how Christians belong to two different political factions. Why do you feel the need to govern the world? Isnt that God's job? Cant we just concern ourselves with seeking the kingdom instead of governing a country? If we do that and pray for the world maybe that would be more effective. God wont hear our prayers if we do evil though. And the question is do politics lead to evil?

the strife is not between Democrats and Republicans, it's between American patriots and communist-socialists.   And I don't see any Christians among those people.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
