Fury as Israeli PM calls on French jews to move to Israel

19.07.2004 - 09:51 CET | By Richard Carter The French government has reacted with anger to comments from Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon that French Jews should emmigrate immediately to Israel to avoid rising anti-semitism in France.

Speaking yesterday in Jerusalem, Mr Sharon said, "If I have to advise our brothers in France, I'll tell them one thing - move to Israel, as early as possible. I call on all Jews to move to Israel; but it is absolutely necessary for Jews in France and they should move immediately. In France, a wild anti-semitism is spreading".

He added, "In France today, about 10 per cent of the population are Muslims ... that permits a different kind of antisemitism to grow, based on anti-Israeli feelings and propaganda".

He tempered his comments, however, by saying that the "French government has taken steps against anti-semitic acts".

Explain yourself!

The French foreign ministry reacted angrily. A spokesman said, "We have immediately made contact with the Israeli authorities to ask them to explain these unacceptable statements".

Mr Sharon's comments follow a rise in anti-semitic events in France and a noticeable ratcheting up of the rhetoric against anti-semitism on the part of French leaders.

In a major domestic policy speech two weeks ago, French President Jacques Chirac called for an end to what he described as "[the] despicable and odious acts of hatred sullying our nation".

Anti-semitism is undoubtedly on the rise in France. Figures published by the French interior ministry show that 510 anti-Jewish threats or acts took place in the first half of 2004. This is only 83 fewer than occurred in the whole of last year.

Oil on the fire

But Jewish leaders in France were also quick to condemn Mr Sharon's comments.

According to Liberation, Richard Prasquier, a member of the Council which represents Jewish institutions in France, said, "we cannot accept this type of comment".

"We all know that the situation for Jews in France is difficult. The Jewish community is genuinely worried .... the community knows that the political class is doing everything it can to fight against this anti-semitism. But to pour oil on the fire in this way is not acceptable".

Solana: Like it or nor, EU will be part of peace process

By Aluf Benn, Haaretz Correspondent

The European Union will be involved in any Israeli-Palestinian peace process, whether Israel likes it or not, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said during a visit to Israel on Thursday.

Both Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom warned Solana that following Europe's support for a United Nations General Assembly resolution against the separation fence Wednesday, the EU will be unable to play a significant role in resolving the conflict, because it is not impartial. (Click here to join a discussion on the fence)

"Israel has an interest in integrating the international community, especially Europe, in a [peace] process with the Palestinians," Sharon told Solana, according to a statement issued by his office.

"But without a radical change in the European position, especially in relation to Israel's security and its need to defend itself, that will be difficult to do."

Shalom was even blunter, delivering his message at a joint press conference in Tel Aviv, with Solana standing alongside. "I find myself challenged to convince the Israeli people that the European Union is a [diplomatic] partner we can trust," he said.

But Solana did not seem alarmed. "We will be involved whether you want us or not," the EU foreign policy chief told Shalom.

Solana defended the EU's support for the resolution, which called on Israel to comply with the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The ICJ said that Israel should dismantle the fence throughout the West Bank and compensate the Palestinians.

"The United Nations and international institutions such as the International Court of Justice are in our view important components in the campaign to attain peace and security around the world," Solana said.

"A majority of 150 states supported the court's decision. We know what you think about the UN, but you can't stop us from honoring the decisions of the ICJ or the General Assembly. We will continue to support the UN in the future."

Solana noted that the EU opposed the route chosen for the separation fence. "We told you from square one that we oppose the construction of the wall in occupied Palestinian territory. I know that the fence has saved many lives, but it would also have saved these lives had it been built inside [the pre-1967 armistice line]. It must be recalled that many Palestinians have died."

Solana emphasized that Israel has a right to self-defense. No European country denies this, he said. Nonetheless, he added, Israel must honor international law.

"We respect the right of every country to construct a fence on its own territory," he said, but a route "through occupied territory" is not compatible with international law.

At the joint press conference, Shalom declared that Israel will continue to build the fence "in accordance with directives given by our Supreme Court."

Both Solana and Shalom tried during the conference to project an image of friendship for the cameras, including by referring to one another by their first names. But the cordiality for the media was a transparent attempt to cover up a terse private meeting.

Sharon also attacked the Europeans for backing the UN resolution. The Hague court's advisory opinion, he stated Thursday, "totally ignores the rampage of terror in Israel."

The new United States ambassador to the UN, John Danforth, also declared the resolution "utterly one-sided," as it "refrains from mentioning the threat of terror hovering over Israel."

In Sharon's view, the "meaning of the Hague Court and UN decisions is to furnish a green light to Palestinian terror."

He repeated that Israel would keep building the barrier, albeit with some shifts to move it closer to the Green Line to avoid cutting Palestinians off from their lands, as ordered by Israel's High Court.

Tehran, 21 July: Kamal Kharrazi has met and conferred with Javier Solana in Cairo, the venue for the seventh meeting of Iraq's neighbours.

According to the public news desk of the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Javier Solana, the European Union's foreign policy chief, said: Relations with Iran are important to the EU; European countries wish to expand their economic and political ties, and they consider Iran an important partner for themselves.

He expressed gratitude for Iran's cooperation on Iraq and regional issues, and called for the expansion of mutual cooperation in this connection.

Dr Seyyed Kamal Kharrazi, our country's foreign minister, referred, for his part, to the different talks between Iran and Europe, and said: There are very extensive grounds for cooperation between Iran and Europe, in various dimensions, including combating terrorism and drugs, and, if Europe abides by its bilateral and international commitments, there can be cause for hope in the outcome of the talks.

Explaining Iran's viewpoint about regional developments, he said: The Palestine crisis lies at the root of many of the Middle East's problems and the Israeli regime is responsible for terrorism and insecurity in the region, and the UN General Assembly's recent vote against that regime is a clear indication of the international community's opposition to Israel.

Kharrazi and Solana underlined the necessity of holding the elections in Iraq at the designated time and said that it would create stability and security in the country.

Solana: Like It Or Not

I've never even heard a president of the United States talk to Israel as has the EU's Javier Solana. According to this report, Solana told Israel the EU would be involved in the peace process, whether Israel liked it or not Read about it here .

What we're seeing is Solana calling Israel's bluff. In a big public show of force, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told Solana that, unless the EU support Israel on its right to build the security wall, the EU would be pushed out of the Middle East peace process. But, instead of backing down as has been the case so many times before, Solana stood his ground. Friends, times they are a-changing.

Once again there will be debate as to what this means. The Bible prophecy discussion boards will be abuzz with all kinds of theories. Some will say this proves Solana is the man to watch. Others will argue he's too old and --- well, let's just say not handsome enough.

Yet, once again few will look where we students of prophecy are supposed to look. You see, the Bible tells us the things to watch for. We are to watch for a revival of the Roman Empire and the appearance of one man among a 10-nation alliance.

Have we seen that? Like I've been reporting, the answer is yes. That man is Javier Solana.

What is this man to do next? He is to lead this revived Roman Empire into making a seven-year treaty with Israel. And, he is to break that agreement 3 1/2 years later.

Is this man, Solana, leading a revived Roman Empire and Israel into some kind of treaty? Yes, he is. That's what appears to be going on now, right before our eyes.

So, does this mean Javier Solana is the man we've all been looking for? It's still too early to know for certain. But, if prophecy means anything, he's certainly the one to be watching.

Whether we like it or not.

Calling Sharon's Bluff

This is an important story for students of Bible prophecy. Javier Solana, the European Union's High Representative of Common Foreign and Security Policy, is calling Israel's bluff. Even secular observers are seeing it -- something has changed Read about it here. But, unfortunately, only a handful of end-times reporters will be able to give an accurate analysis.

One of these reporters who will be able is Constance Cumbey. Constance and I may not always agree about the meaning of all we see, but since 1999, we've been watching the same thing together. A new, global, center of power is rising in Europe before our eyes -- one that is foretold in Scripture, and no one is paying much attention.

From the beginning of the year, Constance was telling me something big was going to happen in June. That's because, in June the EU, the US and NATO leaders, were going to make major decisions regarding the shape of our post Cold War new world order. Boy, was she right.

On the surface, the big issues in the June meetings were reported to be the US gaining NATO help in Iraq and the EU having more say in the Middle East peace process. But, below the surface, there was something these leaders had on the table that was much larger -- a shared security problem of crisis proportions. The Western leaders were discussing their next strategy in a mad race against time with international terrorists and weapons of mass destruction.

What most Americans don't understand, key to our Western leaders strategy in the war against terror is Javier Solana's new security doctrine for the EU. This also happened in June. You see, it was at their June, 2003 summit that Solana presented his 10-page security doctrine to the EU leaders. It was call A Secure Europe in a Better World.

As I wrote in my commentary and recorded in my book, the most amazing thing happened when Solana delivered his new security doctrine that hot day in Greece. At that time, the Western leader's post Cold War world order lay fractured over the Iraqi war and nobody knew what to do about it. Suddenly, a man appeared among them with a solution.

Six days later, Solana and the other required EU officials went to Washington to sign an important new treaty. The treaty was an agreement between the US and the EU to coordinate their war against terror and weapons of mass destruction. It was Solana's idea. And, it was made possible by his new security doctrine.

Now, Solana has startled the diplomatic community by calling Israel's bluff. He boldly told Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon the EU was going to be envolved in the peace process, like it or not. This act has sent shock waves through the international order and hired thinkers are scrambling to figure out what's going on.

And, what's going on is, something else happened this June when the Western leaders met. Javier Solana was appointed the EU's new, super Foreign Minister. And, although this powerful new post was said not to be active until the EU's new constitution is ratified, inside observers knew better. And, now it's out in the open -- Solana has become the single voice for Europe.

We should have seen it coming. In fact, as I record in my book, when Javier Solana was appointed the first High Representative of the European Union, a man by the name of Antonio Missiroli warned that this type of event could happen. Missiroli wrote:

Javier Solana's appointment as EU Council Secretary-General and High Representative for the CFSP is expected to foster coordination and consistency .... however [solana's appointment], may also create a dualism with the presidency of the Union and, more generally, tension within the new EU troika: in fact, the democratic element represented by the rotational presidency may be easily offset by the SG/HR (http://www.iss-eu.org).

The reason this is so interesting for us students of prophecy, Missiroli's warning appeared in Chaillot Paper # 38 for the then Institute for Security Studies, a think tank for the 10-nation Western European Union military alliance. A month later, on November 1999, Solana also was appointed Secretary General of this same WEU alliance.

On July 1, 2004, only days after Javier Solana was appointed to the post of EU Foreign Minster this June, Solana announced to a gathering of representatives from 10 Asian nations that his new office was replacing the EU's rotating Presidency system Read about it here.

And now, on July 23, Solana stared the old war horse, Ariel Sharon, in the face and called his bluff.

Friends, there is a powerful new leader on the international stage.

His name is Javier Solana.

Rolling Thunder,

Did you know that....

Netherlands Takes Over EU's Presidency - Balkans Not a Priority

In a document stating the priority of the presidency, it has been recommended for Balkan countries to continue their reforms as described in Thessaloniki agenda for the Western Balkans.

Macedonia and the Balkans should neither expect any new initiatives, nor any new engagements from The Netherlands, which took over Thursday the rotating presidency of the European Union until the end of the year. They [balkans] should simply conduct the already arranged politics. The document, which highlights the priorities of the Dutch presidency, hardly mentions Balkans. Croatia, which in the next 6 months will be preparing to negotiate to become a member of EU, was the only country from the Eastern Balkan that appeared in the document.

At the press conference where Dutch presidency was presenting their priorities, Bernard Bot Minister of Foreign Affairs, answered the journalist's question by shortly stating that the Balkan has not been forgotten and that Netherlands will continue to cooperate with the current process of stabilization and association in the Balkan.

EU engagements with Balkans are explained in more details in a joint document by the Irish and Dutch presidency issued in December last year, before Ireland took over EU Presidency.

That document underlines the importance of the Thessaloniki agenda, adopted a year ago, which reminds that the Balkan countries, eventually, need to introduce many reforms in order to become EU members. The EU will continue to help these nations in their attempts

Solana Center of Storm

The EU's new Foreign Minister, Javier Solana, is at the center of the storm he created. As you know, when Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon gave Solana an ultimatum, Solana called his bluff. Now Sharon has more than egg on his face. The man known as The Old War Horse has just been humiliated by a man known as Mr. Huggy.

But, for a long time people have underestimate Solana. It's true he's known for his quiet and polite manners. But, Solana is also known for his temper and expressing his mind.

And, it's also true he's an intellectual and scientist of highest regard. But, Solana led NATO's war against Serbia and he's an outdoors man who likes to collect guns.

Yet, the ones who underestimated Solana the worst were the Americans. I think they may be finally catching on. You see, when Solana told Sharon the EU was going to be envovled with the peace process, liked it or not, he was also telling the same to America's leaders.

In my book, I record how the Clinton Administration underestimated Solana. When then Secretary of Defense William Cohen approached the EU heads about implementing Recommendation 666 back in July of 2000, they were told the EU's new military structures being established under Solana were only for show. And, the Clinton Administration bought it.

Now it's being reported that Solana is calm in the center of a storm he created -- like at the center of a hurricane (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/455470

Does this mean Solana has everything in control? Well, I think he might. In fact, I suspect everything may be going to plan. Here's why:

As you know, I recently reported I thought Solana was pulling the plug on Yasser Arafat. Well, I think it's happening. It's being reported Arafat is ceding power over his security forces to the Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qorei (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.palestinechronicle.com/story.ph...040725054739110

And, under pressure from his old friend Solana.

You see, the EU has been the primary support for Arafat all the way back to the early nineties. The Middle East peace process also is traced back to the early nineties. It started in 1991 at an American sponsored Middle East peace conference. Interestingly, it was hosted by the EU and held at Madrid, Spain.

Now the full picture may be coming into view. The EU wanted peace in the Middle East, but the EU wanted an EU peace, not an American peace. In other words, Arafat was a convenient tool that has now lost its usefulness.

Friends, we should have seen it coming.

Jesus said to them, "Did you never read the Scriptures?"

Matthew 21:42

Utopia Theory

I'll always remember the reaction Bart Simpson had when he was told something that he thought was profound. His little body stiffened, his eyes got big, and it was as if the cartoon character entered an altered state of consciousness. Well, that almost happened to me.

It was over something said by the EU's High Representative, Javier Solana. Solana, as you know, is charged with what some believe to be an impossible task. His job is to find and implement a common foreign policy strategy that all the 25 EU heads can agree upon. Well, while Solana was explaining why he thought the recent UN vote was a victory for his common foreign policy, Solana said something that almost made me do a Bart Simpson. Solana said:

The EU is not a rabble of states. It is a sort of molecule with joint electrons. These enable all of us to act together and make binding political decisions (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/455708.html

Here Solana, who also happens to be a professor of physics, compares the social movements of people with the movement of atoms.

The reason this so intrigued me was because it may help us understand how this man has managed to be in the right place at the right time. You see, what Solana is doing is applying his knowledge of physics to understand another scientific field -- sociology. Sociology is the study of social behavior -- what makes people do what they do (Read about it here)>>>> http://physicsweb.org/article/world/16/10/7#pwball1_10-03

In other words, what Solana may be doing is using his knowledge of the natural laws that govern matter to develop a theory that will help him understand and control populations. And, evidently, it's been working.

I don't know about you, but that kind of does a Bart Simpson on me.

Solana's Rising Empire

As far as the rise and fall of empires go, it's happening almost over night. The American empire is declining, and Javier Solana's empire is rising.

I don't have it at my finger tips, but I once posted an article where Solana was referred to as an empire builder. But, in light of Solana's recent actions and pronouncements, I don't think it necessary anymore to provide support. It's obvious by now to anybody who has been watching, Solana has been busy building his empire.

With the storm he created in the Middle East yet unabated, (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/455470

Solana has gone to Rome to tell an important gathering of 140 Italian ambassadors that the EU needs to be able to act outsides its borders. Why? So, he says, the EU can protect her global interests and stand on an equal footing along side America in the war against terror (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.eubusiness.com/afp/040727115946.wbakzk92

This brings us to what I think to be his strategy. I believe Solana envisons a joint venture between the world's two great Western super powers -- the EU and the US -- to establish his global empire. And, I suspect that's the real agenda behind the EU's recent agreement with the US to wage a joint war against terror.

You see, when that deal was made in June of 2003, it's was as if Solana was saying to Washington, "Together we can rule the world."

I wonder who else he could be saying that to?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
