I am sure it is a blessing. I lived out of a back pack for three months and in the army we live out of whatever we can fit in a duffle bag. Our stuff can be a burden sometimes. It would be nice to take a break from it all one day a week.

John, if I may, I would like to tell you what I have experienced.. did not expect anything other than obeying His commandments (4th) after a life time of not attending church or having a relationship with God!

Approximately 5 years ago I started to attend church but on the Sabbath. For as long as I can remember, especially my time in the Navy and throughout my career, Friday and Saturday nights were always party nights. EVERY Sunday I would say the same thing- where did the weekend go? Monday morning comes too fast- back to work so quickly. It never seemed to be a restful weekend or even a somewhat slower weekend to enjoy. Left work on Friday and I am right back on Monday- seemed I just left!

Anyway, sometime after attending church on Saturday  AND spending time reading the Bible or bible studies, etc., (in other words not the attend church thing for one hour and then watch football all day), I noticed the weekends seemed like they were now 4 days long and I always felt refreshed after the weekend! Don’t ask me to explain it, I can’t! I was not expecting this kind of experience- why should I given each day is still 24 hours...

But I can assure you there is a change, a huge difference in the quality and seeming quantity of the entire weekend. I can tell you the ‘rest’ one receives from spending the Sabbath with God is real and unexplainable. But I guess that is why He created it as a Holy day.

God is everywhere and at all times... that will never change! But, I know where He will be each Sabbath and on this day, at the end of each week He will personally visit with you. All I can do is to tell you my experience and I am more than sure it is available to anyone / everyone... but it takes place on the Sabbath day only. Charlie

I am wondering if they might address the following:

1) If they were done away with, does that mean the 1st commandment which speaks of the One and only God....has been done away with as well?

2) Has the 2nd commandment been eliminated too? Can we have idols now?

3) What about the 3rd commandment- can we use His name in vain because of the Cross?

Psalm 40:6  In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.
7  Then I said, “Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
8  I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.

Ezekiel 36:26  And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27  And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

You also need to read and understand the epistle to the Galatians.

They oppose homosexuality and abortion, but they think the sabbath doesn’t matter

The Spirit-filled Christian has a new Sabbath - Christ Jesus himself.

As for Sundays as a day of worship or a Wednesday these are not sabbaths.

A church (ekklesia of saints) coming together on a particular day does not a Sabbath make. For the Sabbath is our rest from our own works by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

If you want to make a Saturday a "Sabbath" for you then what ordinances do you obey - no driving a motor vehicle? No walking the dog around the block? No cooking and baking? No shopping at supermarkets? No going to sports?

Applicable to those in the flesh not in the Spirit.

I guess this is another major difference between Pentecostal Christians and non-Pentecostal Christians.

Paul was a devout follower of the law his teachings have been misinterpreted by anti law crowd, he kept the feasts , he was speaking out against the circumcision party that followed him around trying to win back the people he converted

These Jews I believe were the “thorn” he refers to, why would God send a walking talking “Law” in the flesh only to say “ O hey in 3 years don’t worry about it anymore?

SHALOM❤️

I also suggest that a vision problem may also be that thorn in the side. Yeshua blinded him and may have left him with a "little reminder". I remember seeing something about how Sha'ul wrote hi letters particularly large...

It's also truly confounding, the people who think they are above the law or it does not apply to them. Imagine if you were a parent...

Which child would you love more?

Would you love the child more who obeyed you or tried their best to obey you. And when they didn't, you could see that they were truly disappointed in themselves and asked for forgiveness.

Or would you love the child more who disobeyed and claimed that you did away with the rules of the household and besides, they knew you would forgive them?

Seems pretty absurd when you really think about it...

Yes, Shalom! Brother

Actually, I would love them both, as I do my own children even though some were more obedient than other. But, as they grew to maturity, their obedience changed into a love to want to please their father. And they knew that I would love them no matter all their mistakes. And they can rest in that.

This is a great answer and exemplifies Yah's love. I should have written more clearly. Which child would you love more? (I've edited it to reflect). Parents have favorites, even Yeshua had favorites, didn't he?

Each of my children are unique in their own way. Each has qualities that set them apart from their siblings. As a homeschooling family, we learned that compliant children are more prone to go with herd instinct, and the rebel children develop strong personal character. I love them all differently, due to their differences. But I cannot say I love one more than another due to obedience or qualities or characteristics cetera. Which of the two sons in the prodigal story did the father love the most. The one that obeyed and stayed home with the father, or the prodigal who disobeyed and lost everything and came home? Personally, I think he loved both of his sons equally, differently, but not one more than the other. Which one got the big celebration and the fatted calf?

Again, as I've stated that this exemplifies Abba-Yah's love for His children. Unfortunately, not everyone was raised this way...

It could be interpreted that BOTH brothers got the calf. The brother that stayed behind should have celebrated his brother coming back home too. Just as we as Brothers and Sisters should also celebrate when ever we see a person coming back to YeHoVah! It is also our joy!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
