hello, I have been taught through the scriptures and through pastors that Christian women are not to preach over men, but I was wondering if, in the case of raising children, if they are allowed to teach their sons the scriptures as well as their daughters, or if they should leave it up to their husbands to teach their sons, or if she is single or divorced or widowed, a male mentor from the Church ? I have been searching through the scriptures and been having trouble finding a definite answer

Women are allowed to teach men if the women are under the blessing and authority of their church elders.

The 2 main ‘isms’ that oppose each other about women ministering are

The Complementarianism - they believe women don’t share equal amounts of responsibility in ministry only play a support role

they believe Eve is the cause of all sins

and will like to portray them as “ NOTORIOUS “

And

The Egalitarianism- they believe woman and man both share equal roles in ministry

they believe when Christ died woman are no longer “ subject “ to man

Were Adam and Eve equal before the Fall? The word subject used in Genesis was based on who was created first, BUT We see many women in the Bible that were given spiritual authority by God

1. Huldah ( 2kings 22:14)

14 Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Akbor, Shaphan and Asaiah went to speak to the prophet(Huldah, who was the wife of Shallum son of Tikvah

Doing some cleaning of the temple the book of law was found and they took it to her to speak to God - not that there weren’t any men prophets at the time as some people like to claim?

2.Anna ( Luke 2:36-38)

There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher.

Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

she foretold the coming of Christ

3.Deborah ( Judges 4)( judges2)

Then the Lord raised up judges- this means given spiritual authority

Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah

this is related to how the prophet Moses would sit and hold court in ( Exodus 18) she even judged the high priest

People say “ we can’t count the women of the Old Testament “?

Acts 2:17

Peter quotes Joel “In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.(
Your sons and daughters will prophesy”

4. Priscilla ( acts 18:18)

she and her husband both ministered to Apollos

He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquilaheard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.

Says “they” so she was teaching as well

There are many examples of strong women in the Bible and some have taken Paul’s writing about women staying silent in the church to mean they can’t minister, but that is not what Paul was saying at all

My conclusion is that it is perfectly fine for a woman to minister to her children and the Scriptures can back that up

Dont let anyone discourage you from sharing the truth Sisters,?

It is hard to find examples of famous preachers, evangelist etc who were not inspired by their mothers teaching of scrioture.

The quote from Duncan Campbell of the 1950's isle of Lewis revival is hard to beat. " Masculine pride offten got a beating when theological and biblical problems were brought to Mother!" this stay at home mother knew her theology and the bible very very well and could answer her children and husbands disputes.

How many Christian women today can say the same?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
