John 1

In the beginning was the Word,[a]
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created.
4 Life was in Him,
and that life was the light of men.
5 That light shines in the darkness,
yet the darkness did not overcome[c] it.

6 There was a man named John
who was sent from God.
7 He came as a witness
to testify about the light,
so that all might believe through him.[d]
8 He was not the light,
but he came to testify about the light.
9 The true light, who gives light to everyone,
was coming into the world.[e]

10 He was in the world,
and the world was created through Him,
yet the world did not recognize Him.
11 He came to His own,[f]
and His own people[g] did not receive Him.
12 But to all who did receive Him,
He gave them the right to be[h] children of God,
to those who believe in His name,
13 who were born,
not of blood,
or of the will of the flesh,
or of the will of man,[j]
but of God.

14 The Word became flesh[k]
and took up residence[l] among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son[m] from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
15 (John testified concerning Him and exclaimed,
“This was the One of whom I said,
‘The One coming after me has surpassed me,
because He existed before me.’”)
16 Indeed, we have all received grace after grace
from His fullness,
17 for the law was given through Moses,
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 No one has ever seen God.[n]
The One and Only Son[o]—
the One who is at the Father’s side[p]—
He has revealed Him.

Yes!  And the Torah of Moses is the Word of God.

Therefore, Yeshua (Jesus) is the Torah-made-flesh Who came to dwell among us!

Thus, it makes no sense to suppose Jesus abolishes/cancels Torah....He can't cancel Himself!

Torah is truth (Ps. 119:142).  We should love and obey this truth (1Jn.3:18)....not pretend it is permanently abolished!

Blessings in your search for truth!

Matthew 22:[35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[38] This is the first and great commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Galatians 5:[14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Right!  Love fulfills the Torah.

Why?  Because if you choose to love, then you choose to obey all the rest of Torah too.

(sorry guys, no more pork!)

Love FULFILLS (not replaces/terminates/cancels) Torah.

That's why we obey God's commands (PLURAL, 1Jn.5:3;1Cor.7:19), not merely Lev. 19:18.

After all, Jesus' teachings DO actually apply to us: Mt.5:19;23:23

Blessings...

There is more than one Law in the Bible.

The 10 Commandments are God's Law. They were spoken aloud by Him on Mt. Sinai. They were written with HIS finger in stone, ... twice. They were taught, and obeyed, by Jesus Christ upon the earth. There is no mention anywhere of Christ obeying any of the extensive 613 Laws of the Jews. On the contrary, Jesus ridicules them.

One set of Laws is said to be against mankind.

One set of Laws is said to be perfect and to liberate mankind.

One Law is based on sacrificial ordinances.

One Law defines just how to love God and love our neighbor.

One was placed inside the Ark of the Covenant.

One was placed on the outside of the Ark.

One Law was done away with at the Cross.

One Law was not.

There are TWO Laws in the Bible.

Jesus upheld God's Law, the 10 Commandments, and, as Christians, we are to do as He did and obey what He obeyed.

True, there is God's directly-spoken law, and there is the law given by means of the mediator Moses.

Jesus did seem to follow that latter ceremonial law, at least in respect to observing the feast days.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
