Here is the MIND that has WISDOM:

"The seven heads are seven mountains"

Mountains are usually "Kingdoms" in scripture. A person has to look at the context to see if scripture is talking about actual mountains.... or kingdoms.

In this case, Rev 17:10 adds to and explains the seven mountains:

Not a new sentence... not a new paragraph... (these weren't in the original writings)

"and there are 7 kings.... and they are seven kings"

It doesn't matter which version you pick. The seven mountains have seven kings.

The seven heads..... seven kings..... on seven mountains (kingdoms)

(Verse 12 says the "10 horns are ten kings"...... So why don't you say that the horns are musical instruments, which horns sometimes are.... CONTEXT!)

And EVEN if a person were to say that they are actual mountains, which they are not, but even if they were to say they were......

Scripture says "MOUNTAINS"....... NOT HILLS.

A mountain is not a hill.

The scripture is very clear and easy to understand, it states the seven heads are "Mountains" not "Kings" as you suggest

The Wikipedia description of Jerusalem below states "Mount" or "Mountain"

The scripture clearly states the seven heads are seven mountains with a big "Period" after sitteth......., there is no continuation into verse 10 as you believe

It dosent state sevens heads are seven mountains, which are seven kings, as you believe, it's that simple

I would suggest this for some thought,

The RCC is not the woman, but is the beast, a separate entity.

The reason I believe this is because of the statue of Dan 2.

The statue of the gentile nations that rule over the people of Israel has iron legs, feet, and toes that are showing Roman rule. (The clay is secondary here.)

The rule of Rome starts in the 63 BC period and continues without any gaps.

Ask someone where we are in the timeline of the statue and usually they will indicate that we are some where in the iron period. If this is so, then who is the iron nation right now? Who was the iron nation 500 years ago?

Remember that the iron is continual without any gaps, so the Roman nation of iron has had control over the people of Israel for 2000 years.

This brings to the question of who was the iron nation that ruled over Israel for all those centuries, you may agree that it was Rome.

As the passages in Dan 7, Rev 13  and 17 explain, the beast nation, Rome, changes form over time. From the time of the beast into divided nations.

The common thread that binds all these entities together is the religion of Caesar worship. Caesar worship did not end when the Roman Empire fell, it changed form into the RCC with the Bishop of Rome taking the place of Caesar, (Holy Father).

So, the Roman Empire and the RCC are the beast nation of iron in Dan 2.

The woman is seen as a slave of the beast, riding the beast, being carried by the beast nation, but not "as being" the beast.

The idea that the horns of Rev 17 hate the woman and burn her with fire shows the hate that the Roman Empire and the RCC has had for the children of Israel over the centuries, proven by history. 

If the harlot was Rome, and horns were burning her, then they would be burning themselves, that is, the beast would be burning the beast, if the horns were Rome and the harlot was Rome.

Scripture clearly teaches that the ten horns are kings that have no kingdom and receive power "Quickly" in one hour with the beast, a future event

Your claim this represent Rome/RCC over centuries is unfounded in scripture

Daniel 7:11 also teaches (The Beast/Little. Horn) will be a man that has a literal human body, that will be present on earth to see the second coming and final judgement, as his "Body" is given to the burning flame, Daniel 9:27 supports this claim,as he is present on earth to the "Consummation" (The End)

Okay, I see where you are coming from now. I thought maybe you might be referring to what Jesus said in Matthew 24 about the prophets. 

Like most of scripture, we all have a difference in our hermeneutic interpretation, especially prophecy. That's great, we politely agree to disagree with our viewpoint. As always, I cannot say I have the correct understanding. 

To clarify my thinking and interpretation, I believe identifying who and what the following verse is referencing:

Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The "mother" is obviously the one who gave birth to it, it names Babylon the Great as the mystery. It is an abomination of the earth. In modern English we could paraphrase it as reading:

Babylon the great is a mystery, she gave birth to these whoredoms and vile and disgusting practices on earth. I understand this to mean, it is a manmade vile system, that was birthed at some point in history, and passed down, and to this day.

Before I continue with my thoughts, what is the difference between worshipping and praying to; Ra, Balaam, Molech, foreign god's; or to the mother of Jesus, Mary, and to the saints for favors and intercession?

Paying a priest lot of money for indulgences, to pray your loved one out of Hell faster. Confessing your sins, and asking forgiveness from a sinner himself. Playing with and counting beads, making sure you get "last rites." Admiring and worshipping a man with the title of "holy father", whose edicts are declared inerrant and infallible, ad nauseum. 

Are the preceding idolatress and abomination practices?

Who was the "mother" of these practices?

This is getting too long, so I'm going to be exceptionally brief. I believe the mother was Nimrod at the Tower of Babel. When they were scattered creating the table of nations, their togues changed, but their practices did not. Nimrod at Babel was the mother of these abominations.

It would be better to chart this, but this mystery Babylon passed through the ages; Babylonian empire, Medo-Persian, Grecian, Roman, holy Roman church-state of Constantine, down to the present age.

Thus, the reason I pin the tail on the donkey, with the apostle John's excellent description identifying the system. 

As is said in the beginning, it's only the way I see it.
