Everything about this coming asteroid Apophis, its Greek name, the timing, the size, the makeup, and composition, what is occurring in Israel at that date is fascinating in light of the biblical Wormwood. I'm not speculating, just watching and interested as time passes.

At last count Elon had something like 2500 satellites in space. His goal is to have 10,000 up there.

Like so many of his ideas, they look great on paper and promises but don't deliver, at least not right away.

His satellite company is getting off to a very slow start which is hurting his company. Many disgruntled customers who ordered and received the hardware dish but don't have a connection yet in their area. Many are on a waiting list. Seems to depend on the area you live in. I put my zip code into his website out of curiosity and it comes up service is not available in my area but is expected later. 

One article I read has the satellites possibly being dual purposed in military applications, the US reasoning if the higher satellites are destroyed Elon's network makes a good fallback plan. Elon's birds are much lower than the typical satellite.

So for anyone who has an interest the answer might be to wait a bit. Doesn't hurt to buy in and put your name on his waiting list, especially if you don't have any other options. It may take awhile to get all 10,000 birds up there.

Space junk is a real problem and needs to be dealt with. Having said that, if you look at the massive area around the earth where satellites orbit there is still plenty of real estate up there and then some. I see it similar to the debris in our oceans. Yes it's a problem, but if you take a cruise you are unlikely to ever see much of it because the ocean is so very big.

He's also worried that a war might interrupt his plan of sending people to the moon ..
