Praise Jesus! I agree completely,1000%! Too many people have too many expectations for "people".People with inevitabley fail us,they will eventually let us down at one time or another simply because we expect too much and because we are mere humans-none of us are perfect. There is but ONE Who is Perfect & Will NEVER let us down, leave us,forsake us or fail at ANYTHING....AND Who Loves us UNCONDITIONALLY!

So many look to a Pastor ,preacher or teacher to see Jesus....Jesus Made is the Way for us to approach the Throne of Grace,He is Abiding in us and is here ALL the time .He Made Possible what no other could do,that we be in an Intimate & Personal Relationship with our Heavenly Father ,in Him....if someone wants to see me,talk to me,ask for my help they do not call my children in hopes they will see me in them???

Beautiful Topic.....too many look to others to fill the portions of their heart that are wanting....be it in hope of finding a mate to fill them & complete them,a friend that they need not feel lonely or a pastor, church or fellow Believer to Represent the Lord God in their life.....this is called, setting yourself up for failure or to be let down!

Indeed, dont put so much stock in man but pray for one another, encourage, uplift, support and UNDERSTAND-no man can be what YOU want them to be for you                                                          With love-in Christ,Kwik

Many are disappointed in the representatives of Christ. Meaning Church congregations, Christian forums, or any place where Christians gather.

My advise is to lower your expectations. Don’t look for people to be representatives of Christ, look for Christ to be a representative of his people.

If it seems hard to find remember FEW find the right path.

Lower your expectation of seeing Christ in others so you are not disappointed when you don’t see it.

This way you can continue in Love and Peace. Pray for others and show them Christ in you.

If you let people represent Christ for you rather than letting Christ represent who people should be, you will be disappointed.

Christ never said everyone who claims to be his are. This statement alone tells us people will claim to be a child of God when they are not.

Don’t look to people look to God. The actions of people should not keep you from fellowship. Stay, suffer, and pray for understanding.

Blessings, seeing Christ in imperfect people, knowing we are all imperfect…

Love hopes all things, love always hopes to see Christ in another… Knowing that Christ is in all those that are His, just covered over or not yet broken free to be the leader over the will…

Be blessed in the work of looking to God…

This is at the heart of the problem with so-called christianity and christians today: lowering the bar over and over again until the church and christians are so debased and sinful that the church is even more sinful than the secular world.

Ironically, the more fake christians lower the bar, the more church attendance and engagement suffer so it doesn't work anyway.

I'm not actually looking to see Christ in others. I see them as like me, a saved sinner, struggling, day by day to abide. I raise my standards in my thinking about them, based upon my understanding God's admonition in my judging others. I try to be Christ like, but fail often. My hope is Christ abiding in me is shown forth, and when it is I try to remember it is not I but Christ.
And thank Him for the victory. Beg mercy when I fail. And hope you don't catch me when I do....

Everybody has those bad days.  Everybody. Many have battles they're fighting I know nothing about. I think I'll zero in on the good
I know about them and let God handle their not so good. And, encouragement does wonders. I know I like it when I receive it.

The Gospel According to You   (Oh Oh:)

"If none but you in the world today
Had tried to live the Christlike way,
Could the rest of the world look close at you
And find the path that is strait and true?

If none but you in the world so wide
Had found the Christ for his daily guide,
Would the things you do and the things you say
Lead others to live in His blessed way?

Ah, friends of the Christ, in the world today
Are many who watch you upon your way,
And look to the things you say and do
To measure the Christian standard true:

Men read and admire the Gospel of Christ
With its love so unfailing and true,
But what do they say and what do they think
Of the gospel according to you?

You are writing each day a letter to men
Take care that the writing is true;
'Tis the only gospel that some men will read,
That gospel according to you"......

Hi Sower,

I understand what you mean in a good way.

I do notice whenever anyone here calls out something the response is “look at yourself “.

I wrote this because I did look at myself. I remember what I expected when I got here. This is my first Christian forum membership. I was so disappointed. My expectations were too high.

So I wrote what gave me comfort to continue on. In hopes it would comfort someone else. This was my intent.

To stay here you either lower the bar and suffer it out, or break the TOS to tell certain truth.

 I had to find balance.

He works in the heart of his child, it’s our will that’s our problem and pride,

Hi Rosie,

here is an example. If someone makes a post encouraging people not to argue, there are some who reply “look at yourself and don’t judge others”.

If someone says but it’s true and relevant because there is a lot of arguing here and God says

“Keep on telling everyone these truths. And warn them before God not to argue about words. Such arguments don’t help anyone, and they ruin those who listen to them.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭

The person then responds , no arguments are good and healthy. It’s okay to argue over and over and hey how can they be ruined if they are in Christ?

What do you say about it? Either there is an argument or one lowers his expectations and walks away? You tell me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
