Hello,
I am curious as to what your take is Biblically on breeding unclean animals.
I have a friend who says we shouldn’t-that God doesn’t want us multiplying horses (horse procreation), so that applies to other unclean stock.
I see here you breed dogs, as do I,. And Job had many donkeys.
Would appreciate your take.

After studying I put together the following podcast with the answer.

God didn't want KINGS to acquire too many horses or send the people back to Egypt to get more horses.  Your friend is sadly incorrect about US not breeding horses.

Read Deuteronomy 17:16-20.  The kings that would be over Israel down the roard needed to trust in God NOT themselves.  And it did not work out that way.

  • Verse 16 - The kings were not to trust in their own military might.  That's why they were to no acquire too many horses or send their people back to Egypt to buy horses.
  • Verse 17a - The kings were not to have multiple wives as they [and so many of them ended up being pagan women] would turn the heart of the king away from God and to paganism.   King Solomon ended up building their shrines and altars to their foreign gods and worshipping them with his 1000 wives and concubines.
  • Verse 17b - The kings were not to acquire too much gold and silver and put their trust in it's worth.

King Solomon broke all three of these commands - in a HUGE way.

"Solomon was a notorious breaker of these commands. He had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots (1 Kings 4:26), and Solomon had horses imported from Egypt (1 Kings 10:28). He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his foreign and pagan wives turned away his heart (1 Kings 11:3). He surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches (1 Kings 10:23)." - David Guzik

This passage has NOTHING to do with Christians not breeding horses.

Act 15:28  For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:   Act 15:29  that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell."

These were the only laws or requirements placed upon Gentiles (us) in the church.  All others the Holy Spirit is given to us to follow Him in love rather than laws.  The 10 commandments are given as a guide  how to live a life full of God's blessing.

Instead we are warned against following such regulations such as not touching unclean animals, which only give you the appearance of being holy and religious:

Col 2:20  Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations—Col 2:21  "Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,"  Col 2:22  which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men?  Col 2:23  These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

We are not saved by keeping the OT cerimonial law. So those commands do not apply to us.

Many of these requirements where to keep the jews separet from the surronding nations.

Today we are not separate but by how we live we are to be different, in how we speak, no filthy language, jokes etc.

In our total honesty, literally totally honest, not taking work pens, paper home, not cheating on time keeping etc.

Totally loyal to our spouse, obedient to the government except when it stops us being Christian.

The question isn't clean/unclean animals but how Christ like do we live?

God specific created animals for house keeping/earth cleaning.  He made their bodies to RETAIN the filth they ate.  Hence why we shouldn't eat them.

I myself am led by the Holy Spirit to stay away from them.  Maybe it's because GOD spent so much time and being ever so specific about it, it just feels disrespectful to me now.  And if I get cancer or some other disease I would feel funny asking to be healed having done something that to ME is a sin.

But breeding them for other reasons, that wouldn't faze me at all.

I agree.  I listened to your podcast and all animals have a purpose. The clean animals are as you say, for food and sacrifice.  The unclean simply means that we should not sacrifice and eat. But that does not mean they do not have another purpose.  I think people equate "unclean" with "do not have a right to exist".  That is not true. I love your ark comparison and settles that point. Yes, and the multiplying horses I always took to mean that the Lord wanted the King to depend on Him (the Spirit) instead of flesh.  When one multiplied horses that was in the context of gaining power by trusting in the flesh.

I eat only clean meats, but in your podcast you mentioned you have to eat what you need to survive.  The Lord will help us survive in this coming Tribulation.   Daniel ate only pulse when there was no clean meat and did well. 7th day Adventists do not eat meat and do well. But one day when the store shelves are empty, put your hand deep in there and pull out what was supposed to be there.  The cashier was puzzled asking me "Where did you get that? I thought we were out!" The Psalms promises us that the righteous would not be forsaken or his seed begging bread.

Breeding pigs was good enough for Jesus to cast the demons into from a man possessed, as was their quick trip to hell over a cliff. Without the pigs ....where would the demons have been cast?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
