Cardcapter,

1: Think about how your day today went, did you do what you could for the Lord?

2: Did you examine yourself?

3: Did you have any unkind thought towards other people.

4: Did you talk to your wife with respect.

5: Were you unhappy with things which were said to you?

6: Think about everything until now and think if there was not anything what could hinder your

relationship with God.

7: How about to humble yourself, how do you do with that?

8: Does your family live up to your expectation?

9:Are they going to heaven?

10:How many of your family members do you think will reach heaven and how many of the Christians you know?

If I had to live up to your standards Gods Son would not have to die because I would have to work my own Salvation out by works. :)

Please answer every question < thank you.

My children will because they are still children. My wife has by her own choice stopped going to church. She is considered a fallen away Christian. It is up to her to obey God and can't call an ultimate judgment because I don't know, she could make herself right with God tomorrow, but in the disobedient state she is in she will not inherit the Kingdom Of God if she doesn't repent. I continually pray that she will come back and do my best to be an example.

Where does your wife go wrong so she can't enter heaven? Is it because she doesn't go to church?

Yes, I have been born of the water and of the Spirit.

Do you mean water baptism?

So are you trusting in your sacramental works or in Christ?

Did Christ pay for all of your sins, once for all?

What came first, a faith in Christ or the immersion in water?

Are you sure you have the Holy Spirit?

My goodnesse Shiloh, don't you even understand what is being said? If I tell you a lie I have sinned. If I repent and confess my sin Jesus is merciful and will forgive my sins. If I don't repent and live in my sins NEVER repenting I will die in my sins and the grace of God won't save because I am walking contrary to the gospel of Christ.

The stipulation is as Horizon said:

Did Christ pay for all of your sins, once for all?

The act of baptism took away all of my past sins:

Hello Cardcaptor,

I thought this one point to be a bit odd.

One question: Do you remember the thief on the cross that was crucified along side of Jesus?

Luk 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

Luk 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

I'm not sure which Bible you are reading from, but I don't see a reference to the thief's Baptism there, yet Jesus promised him that he would be with Him in paradise.

I think that one of the hardest things for us to do is to take Salvation and consider it finished without our own input. God has sealed us that take Christ into our hearts. Something deep inside of us finds that quite impossible; that we could reach Heaven without actually doing something for the reward.

Consider this: Heaven is not simply a reward for our works, but it is where God wants us in the first place. It is our appointed place, and He wants all of His children to come to repentance and dwell with Him there. Surely, not all will be there, and that is sad indeed, but it is of our own fault, not His.

Brother, try not to confuse this act of obedience (Baptism) with Christ's work on the Cross, for it is by accepting this work that we are saved, and not by the act of dipping ourselves in water. No, it's not even a combination of both acts, but solely by that act of Christ. He was the Sacrifice, of which we have no part to play, other than accepting His work.

Our hearts change, and we become new through this acceptance, leading us to be Baptized through obedience, but not out of requirement for salvation. The same can be said for "living right", church attendance, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, offerings, etc... all of which are things which are to be considered the fruit of our new nature.

By your statement above, it would be a requirement to be baptized for all sins after your baptism as well, true? For if Baptism took away your past sins, as you stated above, what then, of all future sins you commit after that Baptism?

Can you imagine how wet you would stay under this doctrine?

How about "last minute" or "death bed" confessions by people who accept Jesus just minutes before their death?

Under your doctrine, if they cannot find a pool to quickly immerse themselves, they would be denied entry into Heaven because they failed to be Baptized. Are they, then, condemned?

Trust in the Lord, my friend, and what He has provided for us by His work on the Cross.

Have a great day!

t.

Ok, so what other works are needed for our Salvation?

Could you make me a list so I don't forget any?

Many people on these boards have not a clue what baptism is and what it is for. Under the Old Law the Jews were commanded in thier law to offer blood sacrifices for attonement for thier sins. Christ came to this earth to be the last and unltimate sacrifice for our sins. Since we have not Christ nor do we sacrifice animals anymore God made a way for us to reach the blood of Christ for the remission of our sins.

That is completely wrong. Christ did not provide a way for us to reach His blood. That is pure nonsense. Christ provided His blood so that we would have a way back to the Father!!!

This is the grace of God that he gave us a way to rid our souls of our sins that are past through the blood of Christ. Where everybody is hung up on is how to reach that blood to recieve the forgivness. Christ tried to tell us in John 3.

John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother

Who is the author of salvation, man or God?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
