I watch TV land and often watch Andy Griffith show. Its so uplifting compared to present day shows. The shows on tv are very violent. God destroyed the world in Noah day because violence was all over the earth.

I don't have a television so no but some of them from a long time ago would be ok. But then you have the commercials :unsure:

I like MeTV.  I don't like the commercials for modern shows.

Sometimes. I tend to feel more at home with the values presented in older shows, and the nostalgia can be pretty comforting at times.

Bonanza series reminds me of the year 70's and how fast everything passed in this life. Sad and grief to watch those actors already gone now.

watching old tv shows is pretty amusing because it shows how much society has changed over the time- things that were huge deals then are just brushed over now etc

I watched an old episode of A different world from the early 90's where a student revealed she was hiv+ and everyone was freaking out around her, one man wore a face mask etc. Reminds me of how terrified people were of Aids in the 80's and 90's. Now , you see ads for  medication to take for hiv once a month that presents you from spreading and how you can live normally with it now.

I'm 75 years old and spent about ten years as as tv director in the mid 60s to the mid 70s.   I think I've seen them all so I really don't watch them much.  I do watch the Waltons occasionally with my wife.

similarly- old magazines like mad give  glimpses into how  mindsets to certain issues changed so much over the years.

this was from the 60s/70's  .Amazing how public perceptions to getting kids before marriage has changed

Old is relative. I'm in my mid-20s.

I like vintage cartoons.

Oh my dear fellow female!!!!!!!!  I don't know what I was I thinking  about your age.  I suppose because  you are a widow, I had you older in my mind.

You = mid 20's

Me = turning 61 next week

Do you not see the comedy in that?  No wonder you and I do not see eye to eye on things sometimes.  I'm NOT despising your youth, but only saying the age difference in today's world makes a big difference in how people view almost everything.

When I was in my mid 20's and developing a world-view, the world was vastly different - not better, not worse - just different.

I do hope there is something we can agree on someday.  I say that fondly.
