So you do not believe that Jesus was "God" when he was here in the flesh.

Of course He was God. You may want to go back and read my responses, as I have

fully answered your questions to my satisfaction and will be stepping aside for awhile.

Grace to you.

No, He was the Son of God in flesh, and the manifestation of the exact image of His Father, in Spirit and Truth.

So, what is the problem here?

@kwikphilly Maybe I was digressing........

Indeed, the Incarnation is a most glorious subject in Scripture; John 1.14; Colossians 2.9; 1 Timothy 3.16....

Blessings MrM

Thank you for initiating this Topic....to begin with you quoted from the Book of John, what better starting point is there to come to know WHO Jesus is?

Quote

John 20:31 These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,

and that believing you may have life in His name.

The Gospel of John is written for the expressed intent to allow the reader to discern the Son of God,

and the son of man.

Of course ,before moving I had I wanted to read again the things Written, that we may BELIEVE.....Ahhhh,I can read John 20;1-30 a million times & every time I Praise the LOrd that "My Redeemer Lives"

My favorire verse is about us,you & I and everyone who hears the WORD

Quote

Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."  John 20:29

He was speaking to Thomas,Thomas was not present when Jesus Came to the others& he needed "proof",,,ha! How Blessed are we that our Faith Comes by Hearing the Word of God!

So now it was recorded,John the eyewitness Gives Account of the empty Tomb & the Risen Messiah!

Then you gave the example of Nathaniel,Nathaniel, upon meeting Jesus is AMAZED that Jesus Knew he was sitting under a fig tree (obviously there was no one around, just before Philip called to him) and so Nathanial, being AMAZED exclaims "You are the SON of GOD.KIng of Israel" to Jesus! Again,we see the Word of God (Jesus)Received by Faith......now the Theme changes as Jesus Goes on to explain He is also the Son of man......

Shall we stop here to discuss & study what we have understood so far ...or?

I think I understand that you Remain Planted in what is Written,to study and to learn from Gods Truth -without paraphrases or even trying to explain what you Believe as we only need ONE to be pleasing & Acceptable to.....I have many Brothers & Sisters that refuse to appease anyone & it often sounds cryptic to some but really -Gods Word is clear,we neednt say much...

You quoted earlier

Quote

John 14:9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?

He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

How much clearer does it have to be,I dont have to hear you say Jesus is God because you quoted Jesus Saying WHO He IS!!!!!

For a time I tried to study Ancient Hebrew(wasnt very good at it) ,Koine Greek a bit better & Latin was not too difficult since Italian is my second language.....what I learned was that in that time people spoke a bit differently that we do today...much like reading Old English, its a different style of communication that we are accustomed to altogether......For example:Jesus Would Answer by Saying"It is as you say" instead of today we would simply say"Yes,thats true".......

Well,it is very helpful in studying the Scriptures to understand the language of that time, the customs, traditions and different cultures to see what they understood and knew......perhaps more on this later-sorry I'm thinking out loud again, lol

I just thought Id mention that I do not Believe for one minute that you do not Recognize Jesus Deity                                       In His Love,Kwik

As to John 20:29, I love any and all "blessed are" verses, and this is particularly one of my favorites. I think we share the same awe of reaction, understanding what a miracle it is that we even believe. People who don't accept pre-destined may just not be humble enough yet to accept how undeserving this honor. Jesus even covered this further with prayer for all who would go out with His message.

John 17:20 I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.

We should receive this prayer with the full  power and authority of the one who is offering it up. We should also include this in our prayers for one another.

How does this tie in to the topic? In the Nathaniel discourse, I point out distinctions between the role of Son of God, and son of man, as I do in later comparison.

With this we see the blessings on those who believe without having seen as an example of a time that the Son of God and son of man were working on common ground, and in perfect harmony, resulting in the double blessing.

All for sake of the brethren beloved,

James

P.S. Sorry I missed your joke. I was in the middle of a tempest, and should have come back later to really soak on your word. I will do better, and I am more focused today to be a blessing to the forum.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
