ACTS 4:8-12

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders,

9 if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,

10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by him this man is standing before you well.

11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.

12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

@Not of the World

What make you say that...did anyone has ever accused Peter for saying that he is the Christ and put Peter in a position to defend himself self and denied it?

Please elaborate...

Jesus explains it all quite clearly himself -

Luke 6:47  Every one coming unto me, and hearing my words, and doing them, I will show you whom he is like:
48  he is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the river brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
49  But who heard, and did not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the river brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.

The apostles understood that Jesus is God and that the church of God is his work -

1Cor 3:11  For other foundation can no one lay than what is laid, who is Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:19  So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of God’s household,
20  being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being chief corner stone;
21  in whom every building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;

Romans 9:32  Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone,
33  as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

1Cor 10:2  and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
3  and all ate the same spiritual food,
4  and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.

Jesus Christ is the Head of his church - not Peter - nor the bishop of Rome.

Colossians 1:18  And HE is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, firstborn from the dead; that in all HE might have pre-eminence.

:) I believe you might have worded this wrong. No where in the word does Peter himself prove it. Its clear Peter said something and then Christ said upon this rock I will build my Church. For me everything I read Peter would be the 1st to say Christ is our foundati0n not him (Peter). Its what Peter said. Then we must know this has been a debate for hundreds of years.

You could have also added "Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious," Peter did this also. Again its what Peter said then Christ said.

Jesus said to Simon something without Peter asking and Peter at that time it was no possible to comprehend what was all about...because Jesus said that the Gates of Hades will not prevail against it...

That last statement tells a lot...that they are going to be feerst battles between the church of Jesus Christ and the powers of Hades...but the  church will prevailed...

In this scenario Jesus is referring to the church has to fight those battles...

In the other scenario about Jesus being the Cornerstone of the house of God it is Jesus who has to fight his own battles and when is hewn, and ready then is declared that the foundational stone is ready to be put in place...

Notice how in the following verses, the wonderful full Godhead is shown in verse 2.  Who is the Rock of Israel?  The Rock is none other than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He who died for you and me.

2 Samuel 23:1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 Samuel 23:2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and His word was in my tongue.
2 Samuel 23:3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

Dan 2:32  The head of this image was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze,
Dan 2:33  its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.
Daniel 2:34  As you looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.

44  And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,
:45  just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”

It's interesting that Peter said "Jesus is the stone" and not "a" stone.

Peter preached Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins..

And Jesus said to Peter to go to all the world to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles also not just the Jews...

Peter never called himself the foundation stone or corner stone of God's house.

To be part of God's house one must be in Jesus Christ must believe in Jesus Christ...

Anyone who believes in God and not in Jesus Christ or has refused till his death to believe in Jesus Christ is not part of the household of God..because he is not in the Corner stone of the house of God...

Do you recall if the Bible ever refers to believers as "rocks" or "stones"?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
