How are you doing, or family doing, if  on the USA west coast tonight?  I have several West coast family members myself.

My daughter escaped her California community just as she heard boulders coming down the creek behind her home. That whole community has been evacuated.

PCH, hwy 101, is now cut off at Santa Barbara. It is exactly five years today since the last floods and mudslides that closed 101.

Praying for all that are affected, and giving praise for the sudden warning that was heeded to get out now. May all of your own family members that may be affected also find safety.

Clearly that didnt work out.

It's like Spring here in Albuquerque (ABQ), my friend. This is a side effect of the city's position in a valley: toward the west facing Arizona, there are mountains; and toward the east facing Texas, there are mountains. Mountains also stand between ABQ and Colorado, all of which has the effect of mitigating weather systems raging around this valley. The storms that our sister @ayin jade were affected by in Arizona never reached this valley.

No precipitation is forecast for the rest of the week, though we know that weather is subject to change without notice. The high tomorrow will be 60 degrees F with a low of 37 degrees F overnight. Balmy to me. :)

Hi @ayin jade I think that movie The Perfect Storm was filmed off the West Coast in the North Pacific, right?

Rain is rare here in L.A.   However, we are really being drenched recently.   Had a brief break over the weekend and a kind teen neighbor drove me to get some groceries.

Today it has been pouring rain.   Keep looking out at the puddles on the inner courtyard to see how hard it is.   At one point tonight it was torrential rain.   They say tomorrow the rain will be heavier.

When it rains hard here in the city, the gutters usually all overflow.   So if you need to walk, it's ankle deep water.   So I just stay in.

Possibly filmed there, but the story takes place in the Atlantic.

When my own immediate family member heard the boulders tumbling down what is normally the little creek behind the house it was instant decision- GO NOW! The entire community has been evacuated, and now the only way back  to the area is flooded out. Might be weeks before being able to return, as it was exactly five years ago. I haven't heard yet from other family members out there.

It is somewhat amazing ( To me) that the huge State of California really has but two good connections from North to South and one can't really get across East and West to them easily in bad weather. If something happens to  a main route, well that's that, just have to hunker down in place.

First, I want to mention that I am concerned for all people facing danger, hardship, and tragedy praying for them.

I do not care to rehash thoughts of climate change or the reasons. But, about the weather and natural disasters, the weather people and media are now constantly using terms like; never before seen, not since, historic, unprecedented, monster, etc.

Yes, these disasters have always been with us, but they have exponentially increased in frequency and intensity in my lifetime. I have not bothered to check NOAA or NWS for the data to support my observations.

Are these reporting agencies embellishing and sensationalizing the myriad of events now occurring for ratings?

Can we scripturally associate these unprecedented weird weather patterns and disasters in divers places? Only a thought…

Hi Dennis,

Reporting  of events in today's competitive media atmosphere and with everyone having a cellphone with  camera I'd say awareness and hype certainly is present. BUT this storm is indeed rare as was the one 5 years ago to the day.

Plus once little hamlets are now heavily populated, what once went somewhat unnoticed is  now a major event for so many are affected.

The climate may not have changed but it has "moved", evidently as we humans pave and build over areas the weather patterns  do move around.

Are they worse now? Well they are different anyway, and seemingly more frequent. Yesterday was the second evacuation due to rain/flood/mud slide for my family member in exactly five years to the day!  Plus there have been evacuations for forest fires mixed in  these past few years. None of that was a frequent occurrence in the previous years. Oh last time there was a warning period, get ready time and so belongings were gathered and moved, this time no real warning time -just get out now! Gap the Go Box the pet and go. A few minutes later there was for many no way out.

So different, more intense, yes I think so .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
