The Lord did a lot of miracles. Walking on water. Feeding hundreds with a few fish and bread. Raising a dead man. Giving sight to a completely blind man. The Apostles did miracles too. Could it be either God is working different now or we don't have the gift of miracles and healing like they did. I personally feel it was to authentic the office they held. Which no one holds today. God also did mighty miracles with Moses as a shepherd and prophet of Isarel. It's the office that God gives signs and wonders to authentic as proof of God's working through. God will do miracles now still as needed. He will send Angels if he wills. But not like back then. Those offices are already fulfilled. When the two witnesses come they will do miracles. They hold the office of prophets of God. You will not generally walk into a church and see a pastor do miracles or real miracles. Not his office like a Moses or our Lord Jesus.

Are you saying that you do not believe the Gifts of the Spirit are active today?

1 Corinthians 12:4-11

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.  And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Do you believe the ministries have also ceased?

1 Corinthians 12:27-31

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.  And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.  Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?  Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?  But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

If you believe they are no longer for the church today, when were they removed and why?  I have yet to find the answer to these questions in scripture.

Are you saying the office of Holy Spirit already closed just because nobody is used for healing in your city ? Look at pastor Joshua in Nigeria, he was used to HEAL people around the world, just died last year.

There are no Prophets or Apostles today,  but God DEFINITELY does miracles today. I think he does them in secret. God isn't trying to get on the news and does most miracles in secret.

I am curious as to why you think this, In Joel and acts we are told prophesy will still happen, so I am curious as to why you feel there are no prophets

As for apostles I have no opinion and would just like to know why you feel this way, thanks

Joel 2

“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
    and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

I don't believe this is an open and shut case like you present it.  I do believe that God cannot find anyone who's heart is right for these positions today, not that the offices are closed.  God may appoint someone to these positions in the future.  Many of those who claim to hold these offices today are self appointed.

Hi One light. I also like you, believe in the gifts. But there is a big difference in the way God works in his Apostles and in Jesus then in the gifts to the body of Christ. Every person who came to Jesus was healed. Except in his home town because they did not believe in him.

I know people are still healed. But not many. I mean true cases.

True.

Many healing are only fake suggestive healing performed by cons.

First, Jesus is God even when He was a man.  Fully God/Fully Man.  You will find nobody ever that could do what he did.  Remember though, we only know of what is in scripture.

I am sure God would appoint prophets and apostles today if He found one who was fit for those offices.  Remember what Jesus himself said in Luke 18:8b

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?

I do believe that the condition of the heart in the most devout Christian today would not compare to the hearts of those who were Prophets and Apostles.  God would not just appoint people to an office just to fill it.  If it's empty, there is a reason, not that it is closed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
