Hi @BibleStudent100 I'm reminded of Numbers 12.3 about Moses; although he made mistakes, it is recorded of him: "Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth."

And yes,he did make some mistakes as we all do ....and he had a temper too,didn't he.   But that also shows us a difference between righteousness & self righteousness doesn't it,even though Moses would be angered it was not an anger fueled by pride of arrogance .   Very good example,fits in well as does Biblestudents replies! Praise Jesus!

@kwikphilly There's also Matthew 11.29 (if someone has not already quoted it...) : "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

This is a very important Topic,as pride and arrogance are rampant .  To walk in Humility is to be Christ Like ..as His Followers our Hearts Desire is to strive for Perfection- Jesus is Perfection!

If anyone in the Universe has a right to be Proud it would be God Almighty,wouldn't it? And yet,He Came to us in the flesh reduced to Servitude in Humility to show us the Purpose of our Calling,from the Creator of ALL things,to Commanding the Multitude of Angels ,to having all of Heaven bow down before Him,to naming each star and ordering the wind & the waves to be a Humble Servant,because He Loves us!

Jesus,King of kings,Lord of lords- oh to be like Him!

@kwikphilly What you say reminds me of these words:

"Come see His hands and His feet,

The scars that speak of sacrifice;

Hands that flung stars into space

To cruel nails surrendered."

A true picture of both pride and arrogance.  Revelation 3:14-22

“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”

If we find pride, ego or arrogance in our lives, we are to repent.

@OneLight I think Laodicean lukewarmness and indifference to spiritual things is a major curse of the modern world: how relevant are these words indeed from Revelation!

They thought they had it all - ego & pride, and no need for anything - arrogance.

Isaiah 13:

9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes,
Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger,
To lay the land desolate;
And He will destroy its sinners from it.
10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not give their light;
The sun will be darkened in its going forth,
And the moon will not cause its light to shine.

11 I will punish the world for its evil,
And the wicked for their iniquity;
I will halt the arrogance of the proud,
And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

12 I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold,
A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens,
And the earth will move out of her place,
In the wrath of the Lord of hosts
And in the day of His fierce anger.

I must say that we are all about "we," and not a single one of us in Jesus Christ stands alone. "We" becomes "I" where our testimony is concerned, how the Lord raised us up and joined us to His Body. The Lord always brings us back to "we."

Does that make sense? I hope so. All of these "we" and "us" has my eyes crossed. :blink:

It's a bit arrogant to assume that what we suffer from (or struggle with) is a unique situation unlike any other. When I was young, I was insufferably arrogant in that way. We know how that goes:

"Oh, woe is me, nobody understands or knows the trouble I've seen!"

Hah! Okay, so I had it rough growing up. I'm not the only one who did. I'm not the only one who came close to death. I'm not the only one who was horribly sick, and I'm not the only one whom the Lord has blessed beyond measure. Hardly. The same can be said of us all. It's definitely a "we" here, my friends.

Pride and arrogance are common to us all, too.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
