Mmm,don't like the Topic.  .

Funny how when you are diagnosed with a fatal disease you realize the fragility of life and ultimately each moment is very precious- that in itself has its pros & cons.

Though the Gratitude of God's New Mercy for yet another day abounds some things decrease-:tolerance for pettiness is zero, compassion knows limits and other not so great stuff.

So,for me- nah, don't like the Topic - "why worry about tomorrow, today has enough cares of its own".  Think about everything lovely,Heavenly, things Above & not below, that which is good and Godly .....sickness and disease, mortality seems to be a conversation the healthy, disease free with a long life expectancy have, lol

Strange, right? There I go again, thinking out loud! Today is Great, above the ground, people to see, places to go and please Lord, help me to see the Ministry opportunities----no one,not one ,is guaranteed tomorrow🙏❤️Preach Jesus,Live for Eternity

@kwikphilly I am reminded of Romans 14.8: "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's."

But misery loves company.  Let us worry some more about our longevity......:)

Or,    "This is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be Glad in it"
Whatever our lot God has given us.

It is said, old age ain't for sissies.   As most seniors can relate.

Yet, Old age is a privilege. Not granted to everyone. Our time is a gift.
We can use it wisely, or complain about our pains and problems, and health.
I ask to live to see my grand kids. I have. God is merciful.  So what's next.

Is there a purpose God has granting some these extra days, these extra years?
Years ago I made my peace with God, already accepting the when and the how He takes me home.
Lest when I'm in the throes of bodily shut down I lose my trust in my creator's love and complain/cry.

No matter the world and all it's chaos. No matter the doomsday headlines.

I am not ruled by the fears of the masses. Nor medical stats creating more and more worry.

My burning ambition is to be a good steward of whatever bonus days I am blessed with. NOW.
I see so much wasted time we lose worrying about each days troubles that should not control us.

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men"

America is blessed beyond measure.  And all that live in it. Most do not realize it.
Again, I wonder the topics for here for those who are supposed to be the most joyful,
optimistic, hopeful, confident, grateful, assured, encouraged, happy, on the earth.

I hope I am not ranting, VA. I felt there is another way of looking at this subject. Perspective. God's perspective.
At 76 yrs, I'm ready. My kids/grand kids are believers. I can watch, wait, and work at my lot God has given me.
And encourage one another as the day approaches. Continue running the race, without complaints.

Forget the headlines, and sow some seed...

And tell someone, anyone, something nice about them.

@Sower Such a lot of wisdom in this post.

We need to keep looking up (Hebrews 12.2) and then we are reminded that our earthly existence has a heavenly perspective.

Well now there's this story about how maybe the numbers in the values poll might have been skewed all along.

I find the insular perspective of some fascinating. The average life expectancy of a man in Chad is 55; in the Central African Republic, 54. Those two countries have the lowest life expectancy on earth.

Life expectancy for men and women in the U.S. varies greatly by state:

In Hawaii (the highest), the average life expectancy for men is 80; for women, 84.
In Illinois (roughly the middle), the average life expectancy for men is 74; for women, 80.
In Mississippi (the lowest), the average life expectancy for men is 68.5; for women, 75.

Contrast that data with average life expectancy in the UK: men have an average life expectancy of 87 and women, 90.

Factors which contribute to these average figures are much too complicated to delve into here. Note that within individual countries (much like U.S. states), life expectancy rates vary according to region and even city. Catastrophes, wars, famine, and the like impact data.

The only meaningful metric is as follows: women on average outlive men, something which has been known for a very long time.

Guess us American males better move to the UK (or become a woman)! :red-neck-laughing-smiley-emoticon:

Numbers and figures are funny.

In the U.S. Army, my military occupational specialty had a 12 second life expectancy in combat. The dude with the radios? Take him out first. I was the dude with those radios.

And then, of course, we have the 40 year life expectancy of men with granulomatous disease.

7% of people shot at close range to the head survive... but 100% of people shot at the head from close range survive if the bullet misses (or doesn't fire). :emot-nod:

No one survives a hole in an aircraft fuselage at 34,000 feet. However, 100% of people on board a 747 cruising at 34,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean survive if the 747 somehow remains intact in spite of that nasty hole in the fuselage.

So many variables, so little time to review them all!

I don't have to distrust everything I encounter by way of media presentations. Critical thinking and discernment is our guide. Paying attention to how something is presented is just as important as what is presented, and that piece from NPR is like a "Swiss cheese" article... full of holes.

Well, at least we can say that's better than a "limburger" article. :39:

Ooo, limburger. :emot-puke:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
