Shalom, Shilohsfoal.

I DO WATCH! I also PAY ATTENTION! I also GUARD the sayings in the book! These were commands in the Olivet Discourse, too!

One must understand to whom Yeeshuwa` was speaking and under what circumstances!

Here's an English translation of the Harmony of the Greek versions of Matthew 24:1-51 and 25:1-46, Mark 13:1-37, and Luke 21:5-36:

And Yeeshuwa` ("Jesus") coming out of the Temple departed, and as He was departing, one out of His disciples said to Him,

"Teacher, see what stones and what buildings!"

And, His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the Temple. And, as some were speaking about the Temple that it was adorned with goodly stones and consecrated gifts, Yeeshuwa` answered and said to him,

"Do you see these things, the huge buildings?"

But, He responding to them all, said,

"Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, These things which ye are beholding the days will come in which not, surely not, shall be left a stone upon a stone that shall not, surely not, be torn down!"

And, He sat down upon the Mountain of the Olives, but as He was sitting upon the Mountain of the Olives opposite the Temple, the disciples Kefa ("Peter") and Ya`aqoV ("Jacob" or "James") and Yochanan ("John") and Andreas ("Andrew"), approached Him down privately, asking,

"Teacher, tell us when these things shall be, and what [is] the sign of thy revealing when all these things should about to become, and [what is the sign] of the entire completion of the age?"

But, Yeeshuwa` answering began to say to them,

"Take heed so surely not anyone misleads you and you be led astray! For many shall come upon my authority, saying, 'I am He, the Messiah, and the time has drawn near!' And, they will mislead many. Therefore, do not you go with them! But, when you shall attend and hear of wars and you discern clearly reports of wars, do not be frightened, and when you shall hear of revolutions, do not be terrified. For all these things must happen, but not immediately yet is the end."

Then He said to them,

"For nation shall awaken against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines and pestilences and there shall be huge earthquakes and troubles down various locations, fearful sights, and also from [the] skies there shall be great signs, but all these things [are the] beginning of labor pains.

"But you look out for yourselves, and before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you. Then, you shall be surrendered into tribulation (pressure), and you shall be surrendered into sanhedrims, and they will persecute you, delivering you up into sanhedrims and you will be beaten into synagogues and into prisons, and they will bring you and you will be brought before governors and kings, and they shall kill you, on account of my name, but it shall turn out to you for a testimony to them. And first. the good message must be proclaimed into all the nations. But when they may lead you away, delivering up up, do not be careful beforehand what you should say nor mediate [your reply], but whatever the [thing] may be given to you in this hour, this speak, for you are not they who speak but the Holy Spirit. Therefore, settle into your heart not to premeditate to make a defense for I will give you a mouth and a wisdom to which all those opposing you shall not be able to reply nor to resist.

"But brother will deliver up brother into death and father [will deliver up] the child, and children will rise up against parents and deliver them to death. But, even you will be delivered up by parents and brothers [siblings] and relatives and friends, and they will put [some] from among you to death. And you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name, and a hair out of your head in no way may perish by your patient endurance you will gain your air-breathing creatures. And then many shall be skandalized and shall be betray one another and will hate one another. And many lying prophets will arise and will mislead many, and because the lawlessness will have been multiplied, the love of the many will grow cold. But, the one who endures into the conclusion he shall be rescued. And then, the good news of the Kingdom shall be heralded in all the habitable earth into a witness to all the nations and then the end shall come.

"But, when you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, then know that its destruction has drawn near. Therefore, you shall see the Abomination of the Desolation, the one which was spoken about by Daniel the prophet, standing in [the] holy place where it must not be. (Let the one who [is] reading this understand.) Then let those in Yhudah ('Judah' or 'Judaea') flee into the mountains. But let not the one upon the roof-top come down into the house nor go inside to take anything out of his house. And, let not the one in the field return into the [place] behind to take his garment, and let those in its middle depart out and let those in the countrysides/fields  not enter into it. For these are vengeance days that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

"But, OOAHEE! to those who are with a child in the belly and to those who nurse in those days! But pray that your flight may not be in winter nor on Shabbat. For then there shall be those days of pressure (tribulation) nor has been the like since [the] beginning of Creation of [the] world which God created until the present and not at all shall be! And, if [the] master had not shortened those days, there would not have been any body rescued. But, on account of the chosen [ones] whom He chose, those days shall be shortened. For great distress will be in the Land and violent passion in this people. And they shall fall by the sword's mouth and shall be led away captive into all the nations and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by [the] nations until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

"And then, if anyone says to you, 'Look! Here's the Messiah!' or 'Here [He is]!' or 'Look! There [He is]!' Do not believe it! For there will arise lying Messiahs and lying prophets and will give great signs and miracles for the deception so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen [ones]. But, you watch out! Look, I've told you all beforehand. Therefore, if they say to you, 'Look! He is in the wilderness!' Do not go out there! 'Look! He is in the chambers!' Do not believe it! For as the lightning flashes forth from [the] east and shines as far as [the] west, so shall the revealing of the Son of the man be! For wherever the carcase may be, there the eagles/vultures will be gathered together!

"But, in those days immediately after the pressure (tribulation) of those days, there will be signs in the sun and moon and start that the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not shine its light, and the stars shall fall and be fallen out of the sky, and nations' distress [shall be] upon the Land in confusion, sea and waves roaring, men's hearst failing them from fear and dreading those things which are coming upon the habitable earth, and for the powers of the skies shall also be shaken!

"And then the sign of the Son of the man shall appear in the sky. And then all the families of the Land shall wail and they shall see the Son of the man coming above the clouds of the sky, coming in clouds, coming in a cloud, with great power and great brightness! And then He shall send His messengers with a loud trumpeting sound and they shall gather His chosen ones together out of the four winds, from a lower limit of earth to a lower limit of the sky to the other limit of the sky.

"But, [when] these things [are] beginning to come to pass, look up and raise up you heads for your redemption draws near!"

And He spake a parable to them:

"But learn the parable from the fig tree: Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When its branch is already beginning [to be] tender/green, and they shoot forth now, and they put forth the buds/leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is near. So also when you see all these things come to pass, you know that God's kingdom is near, at the doors.

"Truly I say to you that not ever will have passed this generation until each one of all these things be fulfilled, until the whole of these things be fulfilled. The sky and the earth shall pass by but my words shall not ever pass by. But, of that day and hour no one knows, not even those messengers of the sky in [the] sky, nor the Son, but only my one Father.

"But like the days of Noach, in the same way the revealing of the Son of the man will be. For like they were those same in the day before the Flood they were munching and guzzling, marrying and arranging marriages until that day Noach entered into the box/ark. And, they were not aware until the Flood came and swept absolutely all away; so also shall the revealing of the Son of the man be. Then, two shall be in the field; the one shall be received near, but the other shall be sent away. Two shall be grinding at the millhouse; one shall be received near, and one shall be sent forth."

That takes us through Matthew 24:41, Mark 13:32, and Luke 21:33. I'll do more later.

I'll start again with Matthew 24:42, Mark 13:33, and Luke 21:34 next. In these verses there are SEVERAL verbs of command: Blepete, Agrupneite, proseuchesthe, prosechete, Greegoreite, and Katischuseete. That's 26 out of the 48 pages of this spreadsheet; so, I'm a little more than half way.

But someone has misled you into believing these things are in the past when they are not.You haven't seen all these things come to pass. You have not witnessed the abomination of desolation being placed in Jerusalem .

Daniel 11:40-43 s the End Time Anti-Christ, not Gog the Leader of a coalition including Russia, Turkey, Iran and a few North African nations which are mostly just tag-alongs without much power, but the land is seem as strategic outposts. This all happens BEFORE the Daniel 11:40-43 war, Daniel 11:36-45 is the full Anti-Christ picture, Dan. 11:40-43 is the actual war where he goes forth conquering, we see in Dan. 8:9 he conquers TOWARDS the South and TOWARDS the East and TOWARDS Israel, so that means he conquers from the Northwest Corridor of this Four General map, a simple four way directional map in reality. He conquers towards Turkey, towards Egypt and towards Israel. That is indeed the actual Dan. 11:40-43 war.

Shalom, Revelation Man.

Sorry, but Daniel 11:36-45 is NOT a piece to this puzzle! You're trying to FORCE the piece to a different puzzle into the puzzle you're trying to make! It's like those 1,000-piece puzzles that put together a picture. The picture, for instance, is supposed to be that of a lion, but you've got a piece from the puzzle that is supposed to be a picture of a bear! Do you understand the analogy?

In Daniel 11:36-45, the puzzle has already been finished. It is about Antiochus IV and Herod the Great, and you're trying to force the pieces into the puzzle about the Beast ("Antichrist")! They DON'T FIT!

The Gog & Magog war chases Israel into the arms of the E.U. Leader or President, who is the Anti-Christ. Israel will join the E.U. that is the Covenant/AGREEMENT. Getting these wars crossed up will lead us down wrong paths and cul-de-sacs. It seems you pasted some commentary you like, but remember, we are living in the end times, a time when God promised to reveal all of His secrets unto us, so don't rely strictly on old commentary.

Gog is the "Leader" the word Magog came from around 2500 or so years ago from what I have been able to gather as per the mention in a write up via a famous historian of the time, of course the write ups always followed the stories back then so this probably happened a couple hundred years before. The Chinese called the people attacking them at the "ramparts" Magog, this led to them building the Great Wall of China because these men were "Great Horsemen" who could ride backwards on a horse whilst shooting the legend goes. So, that is where Magog comes from, hence the future leader in this same area (Over the Stepp mountains) was called Gog by Ezekiel because the people were called Magog by a well known historian of the time.

Trying to make Gog the Anti-Christ is an error. Gog chases Israel into the hands of the Anti-Christ, God thus places the hooks in his mouth to achieve that very purpose. God proves that when Israel are in fear they always look to anyone but Him for protection.

But, you're right that these two entities, Gog and the Beast, ARE two different persons and at two different time periods in future history.

You must not have read the OP, this below in BOLD is what I replied unto so he thinks The Gog & Magog War and Daniel 11:40-43 is the SAME WAR. That was my point, it is not the same war. SEE BELOW.

"Ezekiel 38:4 And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: The encounter that Gog is being turned back from is located within Daniel 11:40-43. As I had explained from Ezekiel 29-30, the end-times judgment against Egypt is weaved within Ezekiel 29:8-16, 30:1-9, and 30:12-19. Gog of the land of Magog is the “king of the north” within Daniel 11:40-45."

So, as the above point he made in his OP shows, he thinks the Ezekiel 38 Gog and Magog war is the Anti-Christ.

As per you thinking Daniel 11:36-45 has already finished, that just not factual either. Dan. 11:21-34 is Antiochus and he's the ARCHETPE Anti-Christ who is seen in Dan. 11:36-45, who CONQUERS Egypt again, something Antiochus was FORBIDDEN from doing by Rome.

Daniel 11:36-45 (KJV)

I believe that Brother Huie does a fine job in arguing for Herod the Great:

When the Gentile nations around Judea heard of their victory over the Seleucids, they became very angry. They began to kill those Jews who lived among them. Judas Maccabee and his brother Simon went out to fight against those Gentiles who sought to kill the Jews and defeated them.

After the death of Judas Maccabee in battle in 161 BCE, persecution continued upon the Jews, as history records. Many wicked Jews who had opposed Judas and his goals took opportunity after his death to persecute and kill righteous Jews.

Beginning with Mattathias' leadership of the rebellion against Antiochus IV, the rule of the Hasmoneans (named after Mattathias' grandfather, Asmoneus) lasted from 168 until 37 BCE. The words "until the time of the end" refer to the end of this second period of Jewish sovereignty. The "appointed time" refers to the 70 weeks of years that Gabriel had earlier told Daniel about (Dan. 9:24-27), which led to the appearance of the Messiah.

DANIEL 11:36 "And the king shall do as he wills. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done." (ESV)

In this verse, the king being spoken of changes. Starting in verse 21, Antiochus IV Epiphanes was the referenced king. Verses 32 through 35 prophesy his defeat by the Maccabees (the Hasmoneans) and encompass the subsequent fall of their dynasty. But the context shows that the remaining verses in this chapter cannot apply to Antiochus IV.

Most Christian scholars try to insert a huge chronological gap in the prophecy here, making the rest of it apply not to the antetype Antiochus IV, but to the end-time type, the Antichrist. But staying in the time sequence context earlier alluded to by Gabriel (Dan. 11:1), what should we expect to see next in this prophecy? Was there a king who ruled Israel after the end of the Hasmonean era?

What appears to have caused scholars to stray away from the correct understanding at this point of the prophecy is that they were unable to find a successor to Antiochus IV who matched the description of "the king." But two points must be kept in mind in order to properly understand this prophecy. The subject is the Seleucid or Ptolemaic dynasties ONLY as these kingdoms affected Daniel's people. Therefore, the expression "the king," without any other description, could certainly mean one who was king over Israel. Secondly, the immediately preceding verses (Dan. 11:32-35) refer to the Jews and their situation during and after the Maccabean revolt. Based on the history of this period, we should look for the fulfillment of this verse by a "king" other than Antiochus IV or the Hasmonean rulers.

Both secular history and the New Testament record the acts of a king who appeared on the scene in Israel at the end of the Hasmonean period. As we shall see, this king fulfilled every prophetic description given in verses 36 through 39. That king was Herod the Great. In verse 36, the one spoken of is not identified as either the king of the North or the king of the South, but simply as "the king." Herod was seated as king on the throne of Israel when Messiah Yeshua was born. He is the called "the king" in the Gospels (Matt. 2:1, 3, 9; Luke 1:5). He, like Antiochus IV before him, was an antetype of the coming Antichrist, as his actions revealed. Let's look at the specific points in the prophecy and see how Herod fulfilled them.

"The King Shall Do According to His Own Will"

The first thing said of this king is that he would "do according to his own will." While most take this to mean that the king would do as he pleased, it is instructive to see how this phrase is used elsewhere in the prophecy. In Daniel 11:3, we see that it is said of Alexander the Great that he would "do according to his will." Similar words are used of Antiochus the Great in Daniel 11:16. This means more than simply a strong-willed ruler who did things his own way. Both of these rulers (Alexander and Antiochus III) were exceptionally successful in achieving their goals.

Success in achieving and maintaining power also defined Herod the Great. History shows that Herod was an Idumean (the Edomites were forcibly converted to Judaism under the Hasmonean ruler John Hyrcanus about 130 BCE). His father Antipater II, a friend and advisor of Hasmonean ruler Hyrcanus II, was made procurator of Judea by Julius Caesar. In that position, Antipater II made Herod the governor of Galilee at the age of 25 in 47 BCE. Herod ingratiated himself with Rome following the assassination of Julius Caesar and eventually married Mariamne, a granddaughter of Hyrcanus II (even though he was already married with a young son). Due to a recommendation by Hyrcanus II (as well as a bribe paid to Roman ruler Mark Antony), Herod was appointed as a tetrarch over Judea in 41 BCE.

Shortly thereafter, the Parthians overran Judea in 40 BCE and installed Antigonus, the Hasmonean brother of Hyrcanus II, as king. Herod fled and eventually came to Rome, where he was appointed king of Judea by Gaius Octavius (the grandnephew of Julius Caesar) and Mark Antony. He left Rome with an army and by 37 BCE had captured Judea and deposed Antigonus. He bribed Antony to have Antigonus killed, lest his claims to the Judean throne be found to be more legitimate than Herod's own. All in all, Herod's rise to power showed that he was very successful at doing "according to his own will."

Viewing the expression in the sense of doing as he pleased, history shows that Herod was ruthless and cruel in doing his own will. He did not hesitate to murder those he considered to be threats to his rule, including Hyrcanus II and almost the entire Hasmonean line. Even those closest to him, his own family, were not safe. Herod had his beloved wife, Mariamne, executed on a trumped-up charge of adultery, as well as three of his own sons because he suspected them of conspiring to take his throne. These and other deeds of evil willfulness characterized his entire reign.

The problem is that MANY put all this off on some future "Antichrist" (really, the "Beast") and don't know the historical background to the rise of Herod the Great, who was the king over Judaea after the Hasmonean era, and therefore MISS its importance! HE was the king to whom the Magi came, announcing the birth of the Messiah!

Daniel 12:1 is VERY SIGNIFICANT!

Daniel 12:1 (KJV)

1 And at that time shall Michael (meaning "Who is like YAH") stand up, the great prince (Hebrew: haSar haGadowl = "the-Prince the-Great") which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

So, the One who is like YAH stands up and is called "the Great Prince!" May I remind you that Yeeshuwa` is also called "haSar Shalowm? " He is "the Prince of Peace!" And, it is HE who introduces the "time of trouble." I've been trying to show everyone that this "time of trouble" or "time of tribulation/pressure/persecution" comes BECAUSE of the Messiah's reaction to His rejection, and it is FAR longer than a mere 3.5 years or even 7 years! It's been going on since Yeeshuwa` pronounced them "DESOLATE!" (Matthew 23:38 cf. Daniel 9:27). HE is the significance that explains the 2,000-year gap of time between His first coming and His second!

People have the erroneous belief that the "prince that shall come" in Daniel 9:36 is talking about the Antichrist. But, the truth is that the "prince" in this chapter is an insignificant representative of the Roman Empire, but the ONE who performs the verbs in verse 27 is the "MESSIAH" of verse 26, not the "prince that shall come!" And, those verbs are highlighted below:

Daniel 9:27 (KJV)

27 And HE SHALL CONFIRM the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE SHALL CAUSE the sacrifice and the oblation TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations HE SHALL MAKE it DESOLATE, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

There are no subject nouns in the verse, and the "pronoun," "HE," is SUPPLIED as part of each verb, because Hebrew verbs carry gender and number with which the subjects must agree! To find the subject, one must go back for the subject noun in verse 26, and one CANNOT use the "prince that shall come" because it is the OBJECT OF A PREPOSITION ("people OF the prince...") in English! It is the SECOND NOUN ("עַ֣ם נָגִ֤יד or `am NAAGIYD ") in a noun construct state in Hebrew! Neither language allows that "prince" to be the subject of those verbs!

The only other masculine, singular noun in verse 26 is "מָשִׁ֖יחַ or Maashiyach" transliterated as "Messiah" in the KJV; therefore, it is the "MESSIAH" who fills the role as subject in verse 27's verbs!

Daniel 9:27 (KJV)

27 And THE MESSIAH SHALL CONFIRM the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week THE MESSIAH SHALL CAUSE the sacrifice and the oblation TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations THE MESSIAH SHALL MAKE it DESOLATE, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

And, this fits with Matthew 23:37-39:

Matthew 23:37-39 (KJV)

37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and YE WOULD NOT! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you DESOLATE. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, 'Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the LORD.'"

And here, He quoted Psalm 118:26:

Psalm 118:21-26 (KJV)

21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation (Hebrew: לִ֝֗י לִֽישׁוּעָֽה = "for-my for-YSHUW`AAH").
22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save now (Hebrew: הֹושִׁ֘יעָ֥ה נָּ֑א = "Howshiy`aah naa' " = Greek: Ὡσαννὰ = "Hoosanna"), I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

If he is arguing that Dan. 11:36-45 is Herod the Great then it can't be a great job because it is not factual. The Dan. 11:4043 Little Horn conquers Egypt. Antiochus was not allowed to conquer Egypt again. King Herod did not conquer Egypt either. NOTICE: Edom, Ammon and Moab are not conquered in these verses, the same place the end time Jews flee unto.

People tend to bend scriptures to fit "their facts" I take the facts of the scriptures and go on a treasure hunt for the truth.

Shalom, Revelation Man.

One should really read the WHOLE article written by Brother Huie!

Here's what he said about the passage you're talking about:

DANIEL 11:39 "Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain." (NKJV)

Verse 39 continues the subject from the previous verse. Using the support and backing of the Roman emperor, Herod was able to overcome all of his foes. In the process, he promoted the glory of the Romans in Judea to his own benefit. Herod gave land and authority to those who supported him in order to secure their allegiance. When viewed properly, we can see that every item foretold of "the king" in verses 36-39 was fulfilled in the reign of Herod.

DANIEL 11:40 "At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through." (NKJV)

Remember, this prophecy is NOT primarily concerned with Syria, Egypt, Rome or any other foreign power, but with the fate of Daniel's people, the JewsVERSES 40-43 ARE A PARENTHETICAL INSERT DESCRIBING THE LAST MAJOR BATTLE OVER THE LAND OF ISRAEL BEFORE THE MESSIAH APPEARED.

For the final time in this prophecy, we see the king of the South and the king of the North engage one another in battle. Here, the king of the South is Mark Antony and his ally Cleopatra (the last monarch to occupy the Egyptian throne). The king of the North is Octavius, who as the official representative of Rome, was ruler of the former Syrian empire of the Seleucids.

Antony and Octavius made a pact with a third party (Marcus Aemilius Lepidus) to rule Rome after the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE. In the civil war that followed Caesar's death, they defeated the assassins' forces in 42 BCE. The next year, Antony fell in love with Egyptian queen Cleopatra. After Antony suffered a military defeat against the Parthians in 36 BCE, he and Octavius had a falling out. Worsening the situation was the fact that, in 32 BCE, Antony divorced his Roman wife, Octavia (the sister of Octavius) and ceded many of the eastern Roman territories to Cleopatra and their children. Finally, IN 31 BCE, A NEW CIVIL WAR BROKE OUT BETWEEN THE ROMAN SENATE-SUPPORTED OCTAVIUS AND ANTONY/CLEOPATRA.

The Roman historian Plutarch wrote that the first move in the war was made by Antony (at the insistence of Cleopatra). Thus we see that the "king of the South" indeed first attacked the "king of the North." The Roman Senate quickly pronounced Antony an outlaw and declared war on Cleopatra.

In this war, Herod supported Antony and sent supplies to his forces. He wished to join Antony for a final showdown with Octavius, but fortunately Antony dispatched him and his troops to fight the Nabatean king Malichus I.

Amazingly, the prophecy was accurately fulfilled in regard to the composition of the forces engaged in the war. Despite the fact that each side had assembled large infantry forces, Plutarch records that these infantry were not engaged at all in the short war. Although his generals advised Antony to use his overwhelming infantry advantage to defeat Octavius, Antony decided to prosecute the war primarily with ships in order to satisfy the request of Cleopatra. Thus the conflict was decided by chariots, horsemen, and in a major naval battle, approximately 630 ships. After the navy of Antony and Cleopatra was routed off the promontory of Actium in Greece on September 2, 31 BCE, the infantry deserted and never saw battle.

Seeing that Antony was all but defeated, Herod helped Quintus Didius, the Roman governor of Syria, prevent a troop of Antony's gladiators from reaching Egypt to aid Antony. Herod then undertook a dangerous sea voyage in winter 30 BCE to meet with Octavius on the Greek island of Rhodes. Herod came to him humbly and stated that he would be as loyal to Octavius as he had previously been to Antony. Octavius accepted Herod's pledge and promised him continued rule over Judea.

DANIEL 11:41 "He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon." (NKJV)

The course Octavius took after his victory over Antony and Cleopatra accurately follows the prophecy. He passed through Syria, Judea (the "glorious land"), and Egypt in his pursuit of the pair. However, the lands of Edom, Moab, and Ammon were not invaded during this excursion. A later expedition into these areas (about 25 BCE), under the command of Aelius Gallus along with 500 troops from Herod, was not successful and no further efforts were made against them.

DANIEL 11:42 "He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape." (NKJV)

Antony's plans to regroup their forces in Alexandria failed, since most of his soldiers had deserted to join Octavius. Based on a false report that Cleopatra had killed herself, Antony committed suicide with his own sword. Cleopatra actually lived for some weeks after Antony's death and met Octavius on at least one occasion to negotiate the best possible situation for her children. Realizing that Octavius was planning to publicly exhibit her as a captive in his victory parade in Rome, she too committed suicide, reportedly by allowing a venomous asp to bite her.

DANIEL 11:43 "He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels." (NKJV)

The prophecy refers specifically to the vast treasures of Egypt. Therefore, its fulfillment must be looked for in the days of Egypt's power and wealth. It cannot have been fulfilled in the debased and poverty-stricken Egypt of later centuries. In the days of Antony and Cleopatra the treasures of Egypt were of immense value, having been accumulated over the years of the Ptolemaic rule. Octavius captured the accumulated riches of Egypt with his victory over Antony and Cleopatra, and celebrated his triumph in Rome in 29 BCE. He became the first Roman emperor, entitled "Caesar Augustus." Interest rates in the Roman empire fell greatly due to the influx of plunder from Egypt. Octavius returned in victory to Rome. Octavius' general, Cornelius Balbus, later took Libya and Ethiopia for Rome.

Why are the parenthetical events of verses 40-43 singled out? Because they illustrate how Rome's domination over Judea was fully established and show the end of the separate history for the kingdom of the South. It also sets the stage for the political conditions that would exist at the time the prophesied Messiah was to arise, according to the 70 weeks prophecy given to Daniel earlier.

"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to think the prophecies must be fulfilled by the Antichrist!"

I have been doing this 40 years, I knew this "understanding" 30 plus years ago and discounted it, the whole reason for God to give us every king and player in Dan. 11 is to show us how the Syrian Wars play out and how the Archetype Anti-Christs (Antiochus) life mirrors the end time Anti-Christ.

King Herod, nor any Roman Emperor can be the End Time Anti-Christ, its just nonsensical stuff, Israel has to be reborn before the Anti-Christ can show up, you guys just do not intake all the scriptures, you can n0t do that, there is no picking and choosing specific verses.

Dan. 11:40-43 is future, soon to come events.

Shalom, Shilohsfoal.

Continuing an English translation of the Harmony of the Greek versions, here's the rest of Matthew 24:1-51 and 25:1-46, Mark 13:1-37, and Luke 21:5-36, starting again with Matthew 24:42, Mark 13:33, and Luke 21:34:

"But take heed to yourselves lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with hang-overs and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day comes upon you unexpectedly. For it shall come like a snare on all those who dwell upon the whole surface of the earth.

"Therefore, watch out! Stay awake in all times and pray, for you do not know when the time is, and that you may be considered worthy to escaape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of the man.

"As a man journeying abroad who left his household and gave his authority to his servants and to each one his work and commanded the front-door guard to stay awake guarding. Therefore, guard then; you do not know what day/hour when the Master of the household - your Master - does come, at morning or midnight or cockcrowing or morning or else He will come suddenly to find you sleeping! But, that which I say to you, I say to all: Watch/Guard! But, know that if the householder had known in what watch the burglar would come, he would have watched better and would not have allowed his house to be broken up. Through that (thing), you be ready also, for the hour in which you do not think, the Son of the man shall come.

"Then, who is the loyal and wise servant, whom his Master has made ruler over his household to give to them their rations periodically? Happy is that servant whom, when the Master comes, He will find doing this! Truly I say to you, that He will make him ruler over all His goods. But, if the evil servant shall say in his heart, 'The Master delays to come,' and shall begin to whip his fellow-servants and to eat and to drink with the drunken, the Master of that servant shall come in a day when He does not expect Him and in an hour of which he is not aware, and shall cut him in two and will appoint his portion with the hypocrites; there will be weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.

"Then, the kingdom of the skies shall be likened unto ten virgins who having taken their lamps went forth to meet the groom. But, five of them were foolish and the other five [were] wise. For those who were foolish did not take oil for their lamps with them. But, the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But, while the groom tarried, they all dozed off and slept. But, in the middle of the night, a cry was made:

"'Look! The groom is coming! Go out to meet him!'

"Then, they all the virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. But, the foolish said unto the wise,

"'Give us [some] out of your oil for our lamps are going out!'

"But the wise answered [them] saying,

"'There will not be enough for us and for you! Instead, you go to those who sell [oil] and buy for yourselves.'

"And while they went away to buy, the groom came, and those who were ready went in with him into the marriage supper, and the door was shut, but afterward, the other virgins came also saying,

"'Master, open to us!'

"But, he answered [them] saying,

"'Truly I say unto you: I do not know you.'

"Therefore, be on guard for you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of man comes.

"For like a man traveling abroad, he called his own servants and delivered to them his goods. And, to the one he gave five talents (about $5000), and to another two [talents] (about $2000), and to another one [talent] (about $1000), to every man according to his respective ability, and immediately left the country.

"But, the one that had received the five talents (about $5000) immediately having gone out traded with the same and made an additional five talents. Likewise, the one that had received the two talents gained also another two, but he who received the one talent, having gone away, dug in the ground and hid his master's money.

"But after a long time, the master of those servants came and he takes an account with them. And so, he that had received the five talents having come, brought forward  an additional five talents, saying, 'Master, you delivered five talents unto me; look, I have gained an additional five talents above them!'

"But, his master said, 'Good [job], good and loyal servant! You have been loyal over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things; enter into your master's celebration!'

"And also, he who had received the two talents having come, said, 'Master, you delivered two talents to me; look, I have gained an additional two talents above them!'

"His master said to him, 'Good [job], good and loyal servant! You have been loyal over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things; enter into your master's celebration!'

"But also he who had received the one talent, having come forward, said, 'Master, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you had not sown and gathering where you had not scattered, and being afraid, I hid your talent in the ground; look, you have you one talent.'

"But, answering, his master said to him, 'Careless and lazy servant! You KNEW that I reap where I had not sown and gatherred where I had not scattered! You ought to have pu my money to the exchangers and I should have received interest at my coming!'

"'Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents! For to every one who has, shall be given and he shall have abundance, but from him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away from him! And, throw out the useless servant into the darkness outside; there shall be weeping and the gnashing of the teeth!'

"But when the Son of the man shall come in His brightness and all the awesome messengers with Him, then shall He sit upon His bright throne, and before Him shall be gathered all the nations, and He shall separate them from one another like the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and He shall set the real sheep on His right side, but the goats on His left. Then shall the king say to those on His right side,

"'Come, the blessed ones of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For, I was hungry, and you gave to me [something] to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave to me [something] to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came unto me.'

"Then the righteous ones will answer to Him, saying,

"'Sire, when did we see you hungry and fed you, or thirsty and gave you [something] to drink? And, when did we see you a stranger and took you in, 0r naked and clothed you? But when did we see you sick or in prison and came to you?'

"And the King shall answer and say to them,

"'Truly I say to you, As upon you have done to one of these the least of my brothers and sisters, you have done it unto me.'

"Then shall He also say unto them on His left side,

"'Go away from me, the cursed, into the perpetual fire, the one prepared for the slanderer and his messengers; for I was hungry and you also gave me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you did not give me [anything] to drink; I was a stranger and you did not take me in, naked, and you did not clothe me; sick and in prison, and you did not visit me.'

"Then shall they also answer, saying,

"'Master, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did no service to you?'

"Then shall He answer them, saying,

"'Truly I say to you, As upon you did not do to one the least of these my brothers and sisters, you have not done it to me.'

"And these shall go away into punishment eternal, but the righetous ones into eternal life."

That is the end of the Olivet Discourse. This is one of the FEW times He refers to Himself as "the King."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
