I just found out from a manager that I am to fun on the telephone. I have a gentle sarcastic wit about me. And some find this offensive. Others think this is a joy. And rather refreshing. So they, management, have decided to bestow on me a written warning. I have never used profanity or foul language. But you have to love this one. I work in the taxi business. And if ordering a car is the MOST IMPORTANT #&*$)$^^ thing you do. You should not be upset with me. You should be down on your knees thanking G-D. I know one mans joke is another mans insult. But our Father in heaven DID NOT put me on Earth as an insult comic. LORD knows I have been on the receiving end of that. And with malice behind the words. They say I am not professional. And some say I need to lighten up a bit. I try to have a light about me. It's not just a Christian light. But a lightness of being. You never know when joy is going to strike. And one should feel blessed to receive it. I have called people, and have been called, a pleasure and a tonic from time to time. I have more "you made my days" than I have fingers and toes. And as society continues it's downward decent. I think thats a good thing. I was once an emotionally, and spiritually dead automoton. I have, by the grace of G-d, found a light within. A light that came from heaven above. And if I can make even A SINGLE difference in a persons life. By bringing a bit of joy. Than that is what I will do. My soul has been through many a ringer in my time. And I refuse to let this cycle continue.

A WRITTEN WARNING FOR HAVING A CHEERFULL DISPOSITION? What are we, as the Human Race, coming too? I wonder if there will be a commendation from the folks who DO enjoy my wit and pleasant nature. Or maybe, those with hearts of stone, do not like what they see in the mirror.

Take it from someone who has been working for 35 years: ALL bosses tend to be very anal retentive about their particular position and function. NOTHING IN THEIR DEPARTMENT CAN BE HUMOROUS!!!

I have also been "written up" for my attitude at work, I'm with Leonard, its the boss's problem. As long as I can search my heart and know that I am being who God made me to be, and acting in a manner pleasing to him.............................the boss can say what ever he wants to! You just hang in there and be who God made you to be. Maybe looking for another job would be a good idea!

I agree with you Kahlan,

just search your heart mikado and as long as you are within God's standard you should be fine.

My pastor is a middle school teacher and has a bible on his desk, one of his coworkers noticed it and mentioned to him that he might want to take the bible away from the desk and keep it at home b/c if the school board seen it , he could lose his teaching license.

My pastor told that coworker, "let them pull it"(the license).Let them pull it, this job is not as important as my Lord and i have plenty of students come ask me to pray with them, so if the school board wants to, let them take my license."

You stay strong and keep the light heartedness about you and God will reward you in due time

I've always been told that I have a "dry" sense of humor. I've never quite figured out what that means, but I know that sometimes people just don't "get" me. Some people laugh at my little jokes and observations, others just give me a blank stare.

I once had a bosst that told me, "Look, I don't get your dry humor, so if you could just go through the rest of the day without talking, we'll get along just fine." Funny thing about it was, I was working at TBN at the time. You know - where everyone just looooves the Lord so much. :)

Thanks to all for your heartfelt encouragement. I became a bit ill yesterday. But am better today. I would love to visit the mid-west. Got any room Pax? I am, I believe, called to the city. Because I can't see myself elsewhere for some reason. I think my heart is telling me to GET OUT of this job. And yet I don't know where to go. G-d is being kinda vague in the answer department. I know, or at least am pretty sure, I am not meant to be here. I once thought, untill this incedent, that I was meant to be here. To bring the small bits of joy. The LONE candle against the darkness as it were. And yet to come here day after day is starting to affect me. And not in joyfull ways.

BUT MOST OF ALL. IT WARMS MY HEART. THAT CHRIST AND MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS ARE THERE FOR ME. AND I THANK G-D FOR THIS MIRACLE. AMEN!!!

Take it from someone who has been working for 35 years: ALL bosses tend to be very anal retentive about their particular position and function. NOTHING IN THEIR DEPARTMENT CAN BE HUMOROUS!!!

You are so right. As Ferris Bueller said. PARA-PHRASE These people are so thight. That if you shoved a lump of coal up thier behinds. In two weeks you'd have a diamond.

Well if your upsetting some of your punters, perhaps the warning is understandable. Remember bosses then to think thatthe "customer is always right". I suggest you might be safer saving your sarcastic wit for here, there are plentyof us pompous enough to merit targeting. If your worried about job security, join the union, if your not in it already.

Good point. But what does "your punters" mean?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
