What translation are you using? The word ‘wing’ is not describing a temple location, but the setting up of the abomination

My wife reads CSB. It reads fine, but with translator’s limited knowledge of word meanings, and sentence structures, the translation is a bit on the ‘casual’ side.
I wouldn’t depend on it for accurate meanings of words/study, but it is fine for general understanding.

Daniel 9:27- And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and  offering. And the abomination of desolation, will be on the wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator.

The wing of the tempple would be a border/outlying area.

Matthew 24:15- When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

The Holy Place is in the temple.

At various times I have shared my view on this. Please share your view.

The holy place is the temple mount.    The abomination of desolation statue image will be placed on the temple mount, not inside of the temple sanctuary building, because the Jews when they see will know to flee to the mountains.

The gospel of Christ is not the only mention of those in Judea fleeing at the time the abomination of desolation is placed.Zecharaih also mentined the occupants of Judea fleeing on the day of the Lord as well.

Zech 14

And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

They are not fleeing from a statue. They are not fleeing from a man sitting in a chair and they are not fleeing from.a dead pig.

Jesus also does not instruct his students to flee. They are told to stand up and lift their heads. That is all the saints are instructed to do when they see it.

Luke 21:28

When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Revelation

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

I've never seen anyone with a fear of statues so that they run from a statue. Most people don't really pay them any mind and others admire them as art.

Do you have a fear of statues that would cause you to flee from one and why would you believe anyone else has the same fear as you?

I really can't see a statue causing great tribulation, the likes of which have never been seen upon the earth or ever will.

I believe the Hiroshima bomb or the Nagasaki bomb would have caused more tribulation that a statue.

I do not believe the Terminator gospel of neclear bombs etc. God has no need for man's puny power.

The destruction at Armageddon (and elsewhere) will be the massive charges exchanged from above as the material ejected form the impact in Rev 8:8 capturing and building up in plasma.

I thought people counted Pauls testimony regarding the man of sin being IN the temple. Where else would he/it sit?

I also believe the Abomination that makes desolate is the IMAGE set up that the world worshipps.

The deadly wound is healed, and the 'daily sacrifice' is cut off when the Image is set up and that is in the midst of the week.

A NUKE would end Jerusalem and with it the ENTIRE end of the prophecy.   Why would armies surround it after that?  For me, a bomb doesn't make any sense.  GOD tells us so much of what an abomination(s) is to Him.  And how they 'make desolate' is easy to see.

I look more towards things like

"So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day." Jeremiah 44:22 KJV

"They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger." Deuteronomy 32:16 KJV

"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days." Daniel 12:11 KJV

"I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?" Jeremiah 13:27 KJV

"Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen." Deuteronomy 27:15 KJV

"The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight." Proverbs 15:8 KJV

"The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God." Deuteronomy 7:25 KJV

"He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD." Proverbs 17:15 KJV

"And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." Revelation 21:27 KJV

"Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination," Ezekiel 18:12 KJV

"Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God." Deuteronomy 17:1 KJV

"But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it." Jeremiah 32:34 KJV

"And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:" Deuteronomy 17:4 KJV

"For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee." Deuteronomy 18:12 KJV

"Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites." Ezra 9:1 KJV

"He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations." Isaiah 66:3 KJV

The 2Thessalonians2:4  "act" is the "transgression" of desolation of Daniel 8:12-14 and will take place in the temple sanctuary building, the Holy of Holies chamber.

The "abomination" of desolation is different.   It is something "setup" Daniel 12:11-12.

A statue image of the beast king.

Do you don't believe the armed forces.will place the abomination that causes jerusalems desolation?

You believe God will do it himself?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
