Many are christians because they were born into Christianity.

A lot more are because they want the public to know.

Many don't care about the poor at all yet they say they are christians

Christ wouldn't have done what you do but you say you are a Christian

Why are you a christian?

Because when I was young and departed Christianity during my (drafted) military service to look for answers to all that I saw in the world I searched everywhere they were not before one day having a direct intervention by  what I thought of at the time as God himself speaking to me (which I now realize was probably an angel speaking , but a very, very real experience nonetheless) that showed me the truth about my search and why it had failed then led me back toward Christianity where I actually found the answers I was looking for.

No one is born a Christian.

They may have Christian parents,  or live in a Christian culture,  but each person must themselves accept Jesus as their saviour and Lord.

Do we care for the poor?

I suspect that we will All be rebuked for how little we have practically  cared for the poor.

Why do I say I am a Christian?

Because Jesus rose from the dead.

Because God blessed me to know Jesus.

John 6:65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father".

The Word called me.

A faithful Christian at a funeral said I must be saved, born again, if I want to see heaven and avoid hell.
The Word of God!
That seed/light was planted.
It grew and was watered.
It blossomed.
A child was born.
A child of God.

You will have to ask God, why me.........:)

1; "Many are christians because they were born into Christianity."   Don't think so. Though all have been known to God  Romans 8:28-30

2; "A lot more are because they want the public to know."   Definitely not the case, nowhere near many bother to share of the awesome gospel of my Lord and Savior Jesus with the public at large, or even the brother and sisters in Christ. Yet many others do so sarcificially with word, deed,  finances, giving their very lives to doing so.

3; "Many don't care about the poor at all yet they say they are christians"   Most everyone is poor themselves whether Christian or not. AND most share of what they have with others whether in need or not. Charity itself is not limited to Christians. What is limited is the sharing in the name of Jesus. Christians do share without seeking acknowledgement, in fact avoiding any " public" acknowledgement when possible.

4;  "Christ wouldn't have done what you do but you say you are a Christian"  Aah, absolutely true. True on both accounts for Jesus is perfect and no Christian, but one or maybe two, in the record of Biblical history have ever been seen by God as acceptable in their own right. I am saved by grace of God alone and not by merit on my part at all.

5; "Why are you a Christian?"   I am  Christian solely because God answers prayers. People prayed for me. I didn't want to be a Christian! I tried to resist  being one, but found that this side of my own sanity I could not. The Holy Spirit turned me about from my sin against God to my worship of my Lord Jesus.

Are you Christian?

I don't believe that makes anyone a Christian.

You would think so these days. It's plain to see the world hates Christianity. Isnt it?

It sure seems that way.

Because for some unknown reason, I heard about Jesus one day and I couldn't live without him. I tried, oh how I tried. But just cannot.

Have to be of a non Christian family and not wanting the public to know and caring about the poor, the criteria to be a Christian?

Hmm, as to charity (love) of others as self; I find it hard to share of the near infinite nature of the  generosity of brethren for those of the local church body in need without violating the principle of don't let  the one hand know what the other is doing.

In principle a Christian should not  be seeking acknowledgement of generosities extended by them, even to the point of not keeping account  for one's self. Just do  and let God keep account if He so wishes.

Whether it be widows and orphans or a family whose wage earner has lost work, whatever the situation, I know from personal awareness over decades now that there is almost no limit to what others of the local body  of Christ will step up to do  to help each other in need.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
