I'm not sure of the timing, but I've been drawn to an in depth study of the book of Job. Things happened to Job and his family but he never cursed God as his friends suggested. The book of Job ends with Job being fully restored by God.

Engineers have that same desire, at least some do. As a Mechanical Engineer, I always wanted to learn new things. We are detail oriented for the most part.

I had some really bad things happen to me as a young person and it bothered me to hear people claim the Lord had done bad things to me and it was a mystery that nobody could explain and it sounded kinda like God and the devil were doing the same things to people which did not seem right.

As a mechanical engineer you have been trained to know and understand why things are the way they are in the field you work in.

Take that same training and know that God's written Word is the knowledge base, the technical manual from which you will find the answers.

What I found in my situation is that some things happened to me due to things I did not know from God's Word and these were attacks by the enemy to choke God's Word out of my life so I would not bare fruit and not spend eternity with the Lord (see Mark 4:13-20, and John 15).

satan is always trying to choke God's Word out of someone as this is his MO as we see how he operated in the Garden of Eden.  It's God's Word he is scared of because they is where the power is

All I could do was refuse to believe the Lord had any involvement (see James 1:13) and not blame myself because of things I could have done that I simply did not know about.

If you are willing to let the Lord lead you to find out what happened and how it could have been avoided, you'll grow in His wisdom and knowledge exponentially and it will be a very positive experience that will put you in a position to help others if they will allow it.

We are living in a time of deception and a time of falling away, so not too many people seem to be interested in hearing details.  As the old saying goes, "the devil is in the details" as in if some details are missed, it's an open door for the devil to enter in and do stuff

I'll agree with your prayer to learn more about your situation in Jesus Name! :)

As you study, pray and wait on Him to lead you... He WILL teach you some stuff that will answer your questions!

You are so right Ray. Speaking God's Word to overcome unclean and oppressive spirits is Christ's proven approach. When I feel anxious or under attack in a similar way, I like to state "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and a sound mind". Demons flee don't they! We are taught to resist the devil, and he will flee. We do this by directly speaking God's truth. Anyone of faith is by definition a true WOF person, because it is the Gospel we preach.

Here is the greater truth, there is in fact so much more to God's promises than naming and claiming. That word, as you have pointed out is obedience. Ironically, when I speak on the need to be obedient to the apostolic doctrine is when the "works based salvation" people come out in opposition.

Here is where our due diligence is required, and the battle is fought in our minds.

2 Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

What I have found is that beyond changing the confession of my lips, I have to take the battle to the inner man, because Jesus said that out of the storehouse of the heart, the mouth speaks. These is where purity must be found. We guard our hearts by avoiding and overcoming worldly wisdom, obscenity, promiscuity, etc...all of this is taught in the apostolic doctrines. "Bad company corrupts good manners".

We used to speak of following the "full gospel", but even that has gained some negative press because of people that talk the talk, but do not walk the walk. We have to stop finding new ways to label ourselves, such as "I am a born-again Christian" and stick to what we have read in the NT. I am a bond servant of Christ was Paul's self-reference, and he lived that life, as the Lord has instructed us, and above all, live it to the full.

Mark 9:35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”

Luke 22:27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.

Luke 17:10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’ ”

How is that for words of faith?

I like it. Well said. Thanks for sharing.

You can continue to voice this false claim all you want. All I did was speak of my past experiences and the grace I received. If I used terminology that is familiar only to a Catholic, all the more to attract their interest and here out my testimony. I have in no way spoken favorably concerning growing up Catholic, in many ways it was a nightmare, but the Lord has been gracious to me.

If you want to ignore the full text of my posts to isolate on one thing to use as a basis for your words of condemnation, that is on you. Since you claim to uphold the words of Christ as preeminent, you would be wise to remember this statement.

John 12:

47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

Preach the good news. If anyone does not receive them, that will be a basis for their judgment. Not your words of condemnation before the Day.

Here is an idea, why don't you originate your own "Catholic condemnation" thread of your own, and vacate this thread, which you seem intent to drag off topic for your own malicious purposes. May the Lord judge.

If anyone can relate to you is me, growing up a Roman Catholic, attending mass six days a week until age 14. My father routinely tipped his hat every time he passed a Roman Catholic Church. Yet, the teaching I received was inconsistent between priests, nuns, and the laity. The Vatican had there own understanding and promoted it starting with Vatican II.

When I got into High School, the teaching was even more inconsistent. By the time I finished High School, I was pretty much an agnostic. After a near death experience, I  tried reading my Catholic bible to find meaning for why God saved me, but He was silent. I researched other faiths but was left wanting. So I remained an agnostic.

At age 32, I had a supernatural experience when I listened to the testimony of a former drug user who was supernaturally saved by God. (Details in my testimony.) I then became a born-again Christian, got baptized (full immersion), spirit-filled, etc.

I've studied various Christian positions over the last 40 plus years. There are a lot of good Roman Catholics, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are good Christians. It's an individual thing.

How can one possibly partake in beliefs that are in opposition to the Lord's instructions in His Word.... and be a Christian at all?  Much less as "good" Christian?

Is it OK to follow teachings that do not come from the Lord?  Does the Lord accept  those that are disobedient to His Word?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
