A negative way, you say?  I see the older days as a much more positive environment.  I guess it all depends on one's priorities and goals.

I'll let things alone as it seems one cannot see the positive from a time they know nothing about.

So let's come back around.

That would be nice.   It has to start from the top and flow down.  Unless discipleship is front and center, it won't happen, no matter how bad some want it to.

I agree. Is a forum the format for that? Just thinking out loud.

Ideally, one on one is the best means of discipleship, but when you are talking with someone miles, if not thousand of miles away, you take what you can get, even an online forum.

Does anyone have these theological and exegetical exchanges and discussions from the pulpit or Sunday school? Our former Wednesday evening Bible study is now another sermon

Our bible study, men's class, though structured (semi formal) it becomes  casual(informal) and mostly can stray in any direction on any topic, digging for nuggets participated by everyone so there is active back and forth  questions/answers by all. I see this as a cool opportunity for what a member may be seeking, but related to the topic that is not on the structured agenda.

Our teacher having a particular lesson prepared eventually draws us back on topic,  yet much is learned by so many different promptings of God's spirit, sometimes much as not as from each other as our teacher.

"How do I see Worthy?"   Most of the time it is on a 21-inch Samsung monitor.

I believe in a forum format there are exceptions and disadvantages over a one on one.

Still it's a great thing if used to the best use.

Risk...

A few years ago, a phoenix man preached on street corners. One day someone objected and shot him in the head. He died a couple of days later.

There is risk sometimes in preaching the gospel.

To be absent the body  is to be present with the Lord.

Perhaps it is a grand privilege to be so led  by the Holy Spirit into ministry  and be shot in the head for doing so, being taken out of here fast, rather than to go the harder way of attaining old age and a dribble cup; not dying  instantly to this present corruptible body,  but instead suffering it as it fails bit by bit by bit.
