Much like how the Lord God forgives us of sin according to His good pleasure (and not by your logic), He --- being the One who purposed the Law to be a shadow of what was to come --- understands the Law, and none of us do. The Lord was indeed working on the Sabbath day, but He was going about the Father's business. You gloss over the other example I referenced which arose in the same passage of scripture: David and his companions ate the showbread which was only permitted to priests. Did the Lord punish them for this transgression?

Share relevant scripture where the apostles of Jesus Christ commanded or instructed us regarding Sabbath day observance. I can share the example of Acts 15 where this very thing which the OP preaches --- the Law --- was rebuked by the Holy Spirit and the apostles in Jerusalem. When did the Holy Spirit command Gentiles who were added to the Body of Christ to observe the Sabbath day? The OP accuses others of disobedience when the Lord Himself never burdened us in such a way. Don't join yourself to that. 

All of the above reveals to the obvious: Jesus Christ is our Sabbath rest, not a day.

Marathoner, My post was in reference to Jesus being accused of breaking the Sabbath by the religious authorities, not the conceptualization of the Spirit of the law.

Well I've never heard of him but am definitely interested in knowing more about what happened in that particular year!! Wikipedia doesn't really say much about him.

It is difficult to obtain his teaching now. He died and his "daughter" has taken possession of his material I believe.

 I used to follow his wild  and wonderfully interesting teachings back in the 1980's. See the  sample at WCF Videos Bible topics. He would do Christmas at Passover and Passover at Christmas. He studied the great Pyramid and had a pretty substantial following  at one time.

Anyway he had to be different, so he calculated that there were three Sabbaths back to back to back; and of course ranted on  about the error of celebrating  a Sunday morning "Easter" sunrise service, stating the Sabbath ended Saturday  at sunset at the wall at Jerusalem if I remember. He was great fun!

Oh how he loved to make fun of Easter egg hunts,  as being a fertility rite ( Think that one through and it does become funny). He had a keen sense of whacky humor.

In his last year he got sick with prostate cancer and I think did not finish all that well. Seemed his keen mind and sharp wit failed him toward his end.

Below are pictures of him waiting for the financial pledges to be enacted before he would begin teaching for the evening. He would say a worker is worth his wage, if you don't want to pay you don't want the teaching, and he would command that the music play over and over till the pledges came through. He had a deliberately terrible sounding Christian music group play . He was a kick!

At one time he was the president  of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God. Said he left because he got tired of the Pacific island groups of that denomination nailing themselves to trees at Easter.
