For those that don't know, until 6 months ago when I converted, I was a practicing Heathen. That's a Pagan who worships the Nordic pantheon. I had once pledged myself in service to the Goddess Hel.

I was doing my job today, where I unpack and sort products for a decoration store. I get a lot of the glassware and holiday items in my line. I opened a box and when I removed the rather tall figure from it and removed the plastic wrap, I was shocked to see a woman with half of her face being a skull. Hel is often described as having one half of her being undead.

I know that realistically, it was more meant to be Santa Muerte; a decoration aimed at the Day of the Dead vs Halloween. We get a lot of those types of decor, mostly skulls. But it really caught me off guard and seemed like a message of some sort. For a good part of the day, I just had "Hel" set nearby and it made me feel uneasy. It feels like a sign but i'm not sure how to interpret it. Is it Hel coming back to show herself to me? Or is it God trying to test me somehow? I don't know. I don't know how to interpret it and i've been pacing nervously ever since I got home.

I know the sort of unease you describe. It is common to all believers in Christ. Keep on praying about this for as long as you need to, the answer will come.

With me, as a landscaper and gardening contractor, I would be engaged to trim and tidy properties where I had to work around new age paraphenalia, buddas or hindu shrines, and be aware of residents chanting and praying to their false gods, or in the case of Moslems, doing their mat workouts.

Sometimes these situations allowed me to witness to Christ as the only means by which to be saved. Other times the presence of evil was tangible and there would be trouble, miscommunications, hostility, dishonesty, and I would know not to include such clients as regulars.

1Jn 4:4  You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Whenever you feel afraid sing /say/ think through psalm 23  THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD ..... yeah though I walk through the shadow ... I WILL FEAR NO EVIL

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

As a child of God nothing evil has any power over you unless you give place to it.

That is no longer a part of who you are.

I realize it is impossible in this life to be isolated from the evil in the world and the paganism etc.

But if this has anything to do with your past paganism, perhaps the Holy Spirit is impressing on you

to leave and distance yourself from whatever you made you god in the past.

Praying for you about this.

Hi @Lilybloom Just don't think about it. We need instead to keep 'looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God'.

Lilybloom, if that figurine gave you such a feeling of foreboding, perhaps you should be the vessel to remove it from others' sight.  Could there be more who are creeped out and influenced by it giving them evil thoughts or fear?  Pagan idols should not be given a platform.

What you are experiencing is not uncommon for folks in your position.  Remember that Paul informed us that those idols (gods) that they were sacrificing animals to were actually demons.  Part of the dark side that has rebelled against the Lord.  So we shouldn't just take these things lightly.

I would ask what you mean by converted.   I've dealt with the dark side for way over half my life, from studied I started when younger and put myself in a position I could not get out of by myself.  The Lord let me go to the point there was nothing I could do about it, and then he stepped in to defend me from the dark ones.   The lesson I learned was that Humans have no authority or power over the spirit world.   To deal with it, we must ask and trust the Holy Spirit that dwells within us when we turn total trust to Jesus.

When these things come up (and I'm sure they will) ask the Holy Spirit to deal with it.  It could be a spirit attached to the item, or just one of Hel's workers bugging you about it.   I found it helpful to remind them of where they are headed on judgement day and where you will be in the protection of Jesus himself.

Though we have no authority over the spirit realm, if you have Jesus as your Lord, there is literally nothing they can do to you spiritually, so just carry on knowing all is well.   Just don't let them get inside your head and cause you to doubt.  If you belong to Jesus, you have nothing to be concerned about.

It's been my personal experience that the Holy Spirit will instruct you what to do about the statue.   If there is a demon attached to it just pray and listen for instructions.   If you are like me, you have walked into a war going on around you and though it can be scary, you may well be about to witness some really awesome things....   I know others who have been in this position, and before long you can be considered beyond a believer to what we generally call knowers.  We've seen the work of the Lord so many times that it's inconceivable not to know the presence of the Lord.

Stay attached to the Holy Spirit and enjoy life.

We are at war with demonic forces who would love nothing more than to drag us back into worshipping idols and praising anyone other the the Lord Jesus Christ. I exhort you, as Paul writes in Ephesians 6:10-18: "be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."  ...

Be blessed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
