I'm at the I hope I'm saved stage.  I had a feeling at the beginning of the year about how the world just had a darkness about it and I needed to really choose a side.  I started listening to the Bible and trying to understand and put the teachings to work in my life.  I know the gospel pretty well.  I understand it and I'm as sure as I can be that I believe it if that makes sense.  When I think of Jesus dying for me, I get emotional.  I have changed.  I pray to God many times during the day.  I remind myself to be kind to others and stop judging so much.  I ask God to help me with all of my struggles.  I know nothing in my life was accomplished by me but with the skills God blessed me with.  I started going to church, when I see someone in need, I try to help if I can.  I've been compelled to do these things, not like It's an obligation.  Next time the church offers it, I will get Baptized. I was Baptized as an infant, but I don't believe that really means anything.  It's not in scripture to Baptize infants.  That's where I'm at right now.  I hope to do better over time.

How can I know if I am saved?

Everyone is born into sin, and we all “fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23; cf. Romans 5:12). Therefore, everyone needs to be saved from sin and death (Romans 6:23). We cannot save ourselves. To be saved, we must place our faith in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins (Mark 10:45). When we place our faith in Him, we receive forgiveness for our sins (Acts 2:38), and we are made right with God (Romans 3:24).

So, how can you know that you are saved? Here are a few things that will be true about you if you are saved:

1. You believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. This means that you have confessed “with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead” (Romans 10:9).

2. You have repented of your sins. Repentance is the act, enabled by God, of turning away from sin and turning toward God (Acts 11:18). You have “put to death the deeds of your sinful nature” (Romans 8:13, NLT). Yes, you will still sin, but you now have an earnest desire to honor God by following His commands.

3. You have a new heart and a new life (Psalm 51:10; Ezekiel 36:26; John 3:3, 5; 2 Corinthians 5:17). This means that you are no longer the same person that you used to be. Because you have been transformed by the power of God, you now have a desire to glorify Him in everything that you do (1 Corinthians 10:31).

4. You have the Holy Spirit within you. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, lives within every believer (Romans 8:9). If you have received salvation, then you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13), who will empower and guide you to become more like Christ (Galatians 5:22–23).

5. You will read and obey the Bible. The Bible is God’s authoritative self-revelation to humanity (2 Timothy 3:16–17), and it is the primary way that He communicates with us. If you have received salvation, then you will want to learn more about God (Philippians 3:10) and His will for your life (Romans 12:2). You will also obey His commands out of love for Him (John 14:15).

6. You will share the gospel with others (Matthew 28:18–20). The gospel is the “good news” of what Jesus Christ has done in dying and rising again. If you have received salvation, then you will testify about the goodness of Jesus and how He transformed your life. You will want others to also experience the joy of salvation.

As a reminder, salvation is not something that we can earn or achieve. It is a gift that is provided by God through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). We cannot save ourselves through good works or by trying to be a good person. It is only through faith in Jesus that we can be saved (John 14:6).

If you are uncertain about the security of your salvation, here are a few things that you can do: First, you can pray and ask God for clarity. He does not want you to wonder and worry about whether you are truly saved (see 1 John 5:13). Second, you can talk to a trusted pastor or Christian friend who can address any questions or doubts that you have. Third, you can read the Bible and study what it says about salvation and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead, and are you trusting Him fully? If the answer is “yes,” then you are saved.

When you think to "do better", remind yourself that all the good you do, you do to the glory of God.

@Cyoder God bless your daily, prayerful Bible reading; Hebrews chapters 9 and 10 speak of the sure grounds of the believer's salvation, even as he or she depends in faith upon the finished work of Christ at the cross for sinners. John 19.30: "It is finished".

“Personally accept Christ”…are you asking what transpires when we are reconciled to God…saved…salvation?

Our state of existence prior to being “saved” is…dead in sin…separated from God…living our lives in the lust and pride of the carnal rebellious soul…in the kingdom darkness as slaves to the task master Satan.

Salvation occurs when the Father of our Lord Yahshua Christ removes us from death and puts us into life…from the kingdom of darkness into His marvelous Kingdom of light.

When this happens the "Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God""having received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Subsequently…the process of being conformed to Christ begins…as a new born spiritual child. If we grow and mature in our unique and predestined call…we will become led by the Spirit of God, and we become the sons of God.

Tatwo...:)

Great responses here. In simple terms, I've come to think that when we are saved, two main things take place:

1. The problem of sin, corruption, our old man, and our separation from God are taken care of in the substitutional death of Christ.

2. Our spirit is regenerated by His Spirit, making us children of our Father, and His life in us transforms us into His image.

Or as Romans 5:10 says:  "For if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved in His life."

Brief and simple:

1 Corinthians 12:27

Colossians 1:27

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
