Hi again the report on  the eagles is so well done I do hope you take up the mantle so to speak and do a following of the Big Bear eagles thread again for this season.

I usually just continue the Eagle topic.

@ladypeartree Is that ok with you since you follow it closely?

In Texas we have the mountain lion, also known as the puma or cougar,  a large cat that lives in parts of Texas.
My sister sighted one that was dark believing it to be Panther near the cattle pen, but they are not native in Texas, so it was probably a Puma.

We have mountain lions in California.   There are a few in Los Angeles in the wilderness parks.    We are building a wildlife bridge so they can cross a certain freeway where a couple have died.

One of them was under a home adjacent to Griffith Park.   A worker went under the home and came face to face with the mountain lion!   The Hispanic worker hurriedly backed out and was white faced!

News crews gathered but the cat eluded the cameras during the wee hours.

P-22 was our most famous mountain lion....he died of old age and injuries a while ago.   The wildlife bridge is being built in his memory.

Our family has had acreage out here in the wooded boon docks, central Texas,  since the 50's, and my wife and I and kids, now grand kids also, moved here in mid 80's. We have always run cattle. The roads were dirt, and only three families lived here then off a 2 mi private road. I've only hit one deer, and one other deer hit my wife's car and caved a door in 40+ yrs. Since then the towns and cities keep expanding out and sub divisions continue expanding out.

The roads are paved now,  a farm to market road and more traffic. A deer or fox/raccoon weekly gets hit. The white tail deer population continues to expand and has deer now living in the nearby cities, walking the streets and eating gardens and flowers, and people feed them. The home owners finally hire companies to catch and relocate them. Then stop because they've been relocated to areas for hunting. It's getting crazier and crazier.

I'm in the process of chain link fencing our yard and garden and fruit tree area because the deer are getting more and more tame and bold  due to the neighbors continually feeding them. They chew the bark and we have lost all but one tree. They would never come near our home years before being wild and had room to graze/browse. I'm considering making a mechanical scare crow, motion detector activated, with lights and whistles, water pump squirt gun, and predator calls. I'm at a wit's end..

Thanks Debp

One of my friends has a home in Glendale which is a city adjacent to Los Angeles.   One time in the wee hours she looked out and saw a few deer on her front lawn.   She also sees rabbits and they have coyotes.   Once she saw a Bobcat.

Her daughter and their dog got trailed by a coyote until a man suddenly appeared in the dark and scared it off.   A few weeks ago a coyote was in their driveway so her daughter came back in with their dog instead of a walk.

The coyotes even come into the city of Los Angeles.   Some neighborhoods have to be on alert when dog walking.   Years ago an animal rescue lady I knew had a coyote grab one of the stray cats in the wee hours....the cat let out a scream.   The lady ran out and screamed so loud that the coyote dropped the cat!   Thankfully the cat was ok.

The lady said there was a Filipino restaurant nearby and the smell draws the coyotes!

Well I am very thankful that the most we get are foxes and squirrels although I had not a single piece of fruit this year as the pesky squirrels ate the lot ( one of the neighbours a few doors away from me thinks they are cute and keeps feeding them )

And now the Pythons and Boa Constrictors.   Are any coming out of the Everglades to some of the towns?

I read Florida pays hunters to search for them and kill them.

Hi, Well that has been a regular thing for a long time. Mostly found in the everglades, they consume the natural to the area wildlife. But there has been one really huge one, that I one saw crossing the road at Hernando Beach South which is way up the Gulf Coast far from the Everglades.

For as much building on  the lands as has occurred there is still a far greater proportion of the State that is still natural wild lands. Lots of stuff out there, much of which doesn't  belong, being critters released by people who thought they wanted a snake as a pet; or in the case of the monkeys along the  Crystal River they were one of two  releases. A lab lost some and there was also some lost in the making of Tarzan movies long ago.

Those monkeys though cute can be a bit of a risky menace while kayaking along the river. Most of the river has no shore as such  just trees overhanging the water. To take a break and nose in between  trees to rest is to risk having  monkeys suddenly appear over one's head  or even try for food that might be on the "sit on top" kayak.

I am now long past those adventures, the body having decided it has had more than enough. Biggest wildlife adventures of today for me is to see an occasional hawk or eagle take out a coral snake and sit in the oak trees to peel  and consume it  or take it back to a nest. My own former wild lands are now really just one big two story city with isolated large patches for the wilds. So the poor critters, they have to make it  here with us all. Rabbits opossum raccoon snake osprey hawk fox coyote  and deer all share the space with the squirrels both human and furry ones.

As Tiny Tim was written  by Dickens to have said, "God bless us all, everyone."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
