There is only one who can do that (keep the law & be perfect) - Jesus Christ!

Job 1:1, "and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil."

Genesis 26:5, "Because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws."

But Jesus is the only human wo was perfect since he was begotten.

@slave Scripture leads us into truth and all of it is required for us to arrive at said truth in this way...
Isaiah 28:10 (KJV)

[10] For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

This is how God has structured His Word and in one part such as you have quoted it appears that Abraham and Job were righteous by their deeds -however-

God writes this in His New Testament
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

[23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

As God cannot lie

Hebrews 6:18 (KJV)

[18] That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Therefore, we must consider their righteousness to be that of Christ's and not actually their own works... here it is spelled out specifically

Romans 3:20-26 (KJV)

[20] Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

[21] But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

[22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

[23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

[24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

[25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

[26] To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

But neither Job or Abraham can live in you, however Christ can.  There is only One Mediator between God and man.  When the disciples were presented with Jesus, Moses (representing the law) and Elijah (representing the prophets) all together, God said, "This is my beloved Son, Hear Him!" (Matt 17:5)  And did not Jesus say, "You must be born again" or you will not enter the kingdom of heaven? (John 3:5-7)  So your own efforts won't make it.

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Blessings @slave

The verses of Scripture you randomly pick n choose are very much taken out of context to support your own misinterpretations

Let us help you to study God's Word - the Scriptures are not a smorgasbord of verses to put together a dish of favorites to create a narrative..... There is ' context " to consider,so far I've seen nothing but misapplication.... Even from the Book of Leviticus you are picking out parts you probably try very hard to adhere to.... If you want to keep the Law you must keep ALL of it- to break one,you've broken all of it

Believe me,you'd do well to stay in the 4 Gospels for right now- I can tell you that if you do not know WHO you are in Christ Jesus then you will only strive to attain what no human being can accomplish- and my friend,that will not earn you any credits for trying,God's Grace is a Gift- we cannot earn His Grace,we don't deserve God's Grace and that is the whole point God Reduced Himself to Servitude to suffer and die in our place ...

Our Redeemer Lives,He is the Way,the Truth and the Life- the Law was put in place that man would Understand It is impossible to please God,to be Good enough,Holy enough and a Savior is NEEDED

Indeed - the Perfect One lives in His ones who are born again with His life, and as they walk in spirit, they are transformed from within and can love God and others and fulfill the law.

Exactly the point only your simply not Understanding what Jesus is Saying.....

Do you think your self righteousness exceeds that of the scribes & Pharisees?Jesus is pointing out that not even THEY are able to be Righteous in the Eyes of God!!!!

@kwikphilly Well, exactly. Works righteousness is a no-no: the standard of righteousness that the Lord Jesus represents points to the need to receive by faith the message of His finished work at the Cross, which is so essential; everything else is ultimately futile.

Hi @BornAgain490 Going back to the old (all those occurrences of 'better' in Hebrews, right?) makes no sense when the new covenant is fully revealed in Christ......

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
