They had Jesus killed, that could cause some animosity.  Some people just hate what they don't understand.  They are different so they must be inferior somehow.  I look at them as Christians that are uninformed.  Leaders of the Jewish faith have deliberately censored parts of the Torah to exclude Messianic prophecies from the book of Isaiah.  I've watched quite a few people interviewing Jews in Isreal and asking them about the book of Isaiah.  Most have no idea. A lot of them also think that the New Testament is all about hating Jews which is pretty crazy.  Hating anyone just because of their religion is insane.

The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) has had a long history of attacking the children of Israel. Remember that for centuries the official position was one of distain. That was the only official Christian religion for centuries until the reformation. "You are not a Christian unless you are Roman Catholic," they say. There were millions of real Christians during that time but their influence was shaped by the powers of that time. The people were not allowed to read the Bible and confined to the Vatican's doctrine.

When the reformation began and people had access to the scriptures, the knowledge of the truth that we should love all souls came to light.

The reformation included groups that still maintained a close resemblance to the RCC, Methodist for example. As the groups moved further away from the RCC the changes allowed for a change of heart towards Jews.

----

The "religion" of Israel is the Law and the Prophets.

In the Law, there are certain places where it calls on Israel to remain separate from the gentile nations. This would include marriage and other transactions. The Jews did not consider gentiles to be on the same level as they were, the good Samaritan for example. Basically, some Jews do not consider gentiles to be "souls", that is, gentiles are animals like cattle or horses. These practices result in hostility with others.

----

In the congregations of present day there are 2 ways to bring people together, love and hate (less love, no love, void of love).

Those who love, look at the inner person, the soul that needs Love and Jesus.

Those who hate, tend to look at the flesh and diminish the soul. They stand together against some group that they maintain is the enemy, instead of trying to save souls by love and examples of love. They promote anger and fear to bind them together. The Jews are just one "target" to aim at.

---

Israel today is still just human, with many Christian converts.

The fact that there is an Israel today is proof of Jesus/God's favor on His children and that the God of Israel is God. Many remain blinded to Jesus. Still the promises are to fathers are maintained.

There are good and bad in every group. Modern Israel is the same as many other groups, both good and bad, right and wrong.

Why the sweeping generalization?  You might elaborate on where you are coming from.  Are you Christian, Jew, none of the above, both?  Most of the first Christians were Jews.

Sadly, it seems that there is a not-so-insignificant number of Chritians with strong antipathy toward Israel and Jews. I find it to be revolting and shocking. I personally would gladly sacrifice my life to protect Israel. I believe the Jews of Israel to be upstanding, righteous, Godly people.

I was taught God blesses those that bless Israel and curses those that curse Israel.

I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”. Genesis 12:3.

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are NOT, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.

Is it possible that this was referring to the ruling Jews before 70 AD?

Does this verse mean that, for now, some Jews cannot follow Jesus but that, eventually, they will after "the fullness of the Gentiles has come in"?

Romans 11:25
25 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness (as to their true identity) is happened to part of Israel (the ten "lost" tribes - the House of Israel), until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in (which occurred on December 9, 1917, when British troops under Gen. Allenby liberated Jerusalem from Turkish-Edomite rule under the Ottoman Empire).

@Michael37

Do you agree with this poster's translation of what Paul meant regarding the "until the fullness of the Gentiles come in"?

No. It's illogical to conclude that the fullness of the Gentiles has occurred as yet, since Israel is a secular state, which in the national sense is still hardened to the Gospel, although many descendants of Jacob/Israel have received Christ as their Savior along with many Gentiles, but the fullness has not occurred.

By Israel is meant the Jews, the descendants of Jacob, whose name was Israel.

God is still desirous that more Gentiles become Christians, so while He foreknows them as still in need of salvation by grace through faith in His Son, we cannot say the fullness of the Gentiles has occurred.

Blessings from Michael37

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
